Very nice fix. Those NIKI carbs on the Briggs are really crap. Someone bought out NIKI I think and hopefully the replacements are a lot better. I can't tell you how many of them I find issues on. You are correct, the Kawasaki engines are far better. Thanks
So many people hate on these engines and yes, they do have some common problems but most of them are preventable with general maintenance I have this engine in an Aaron's 46" I have used for over a decade maybe 13 years mine has the plastic intake which I do not like but I keep good oil in it I keep the cooling fins, flywheel, coils clean and I have not had a problem, I do not have the luxury of running ethanol free gas in it though like I would prefer but it's been one of my top favorite mowing machines I have had,I will go through the carb next season as I have not had to yet.
I have 390HRs on mine and still works same as it did when it had 10HRs this is due to Maintenance, I just retired from this work so i have lots of time and spare parts. these are good running engines if they are looked after, I have had them come in my shop with 1500 hours and still running good. Maintenance Maintenance Maintenance.
Duh!!! Clean the Engine & Carb exterior BEFORE dissembling - NotAfter!!! Job goes aLot more easily with clean parts and hands(gloves)... A quick & Dirty job, especially on a carb, usually needs to get done again soon.
Hello sir I have the exact carb . Cleaned it 2 times but has a idle surge up and down decide to replace carb but I cannot locate one to buy with the side linkage like look on Ebay and Amazon no luck do you where to buy a carb Thanks sir
Thanks for sharing. I haven't seen one of those carbs before. Not sure I like the plastic insides. I agree with you on the kawasaki engines most of my commercial equipment has there commercial engines on them I will say the new EFI vanguards Briggs came out with a few years ago seem to be a good engine. I have on mower with the 28hp EFI and it has been a good engine so far it has around 1100 or 1200 hours on it have you done any work on ant of the briggs EFI engines yet? Hope everyone is doing well at home. Have a great weekend!!!
I,m glad i do not that engine on my powr kraft mower it would drive me crazy if i had issues with that carb 😟☹️ briggs & straton shame on you for doing that to a great engine go back to making the carb,s like you use to🤨🤨

Another nice repair Bob! Looks like a good day to be working indoors.
Quite a job to get carb off. Yet you managed to make the job seem fairly easy. Lots of linkage it seemed to be. Great video. Thanks again.
1:20 Would it have been "cleaner" to clean those cylinders and intake prior to removal of the carb/intake? Maybe just my OCD.
Mike Joyce I agree, how’d he miss that, the manifold, etc?

Yeah, pulling off parts when EVERYTHING is covered in dirt is just asking for contamination.

Usually when your lawn mower idles up and down that's means its surging witch means the air and fuel mixture screws need adjusting.
THANKS A LOT I NEED TO DO MINE AND I LIKE YOUR THUNDER ENGUNE BIG BOAR VUD ALSO
