I dearly love your little family. I love your channel and your love for God. My Grandson was in a wreck in hi truck. He had severe brain trauma. He lived 2 yrs and 9mos and 2 days. He could whisper talk and finger hug. I was so hurt and lost my faith for awhile. But you all have brought me back. Ty so very much. I hope you are here forever so I can enjoy you all. God bless you.

To keep hawks away, try a plastic owl, anything that shines (old cd’s, mirrors, metal culvert pipe), add black chickens to your flock (hawks think they are crows), guard animal (goose, LGD, llama, etc). Wishing you all the best on keeping those ladies safe!🤞🏻
Put chicken wire up high across the top, like they do by pools to keep the birds away. It will still allow the weather but keep the hawks and critters out.

I'm 64 as well hopefully I can get one I'm so broke can't afford to even buy food after I pay my bills or do without my meds or won't pay a bill so I can get some food and my meds. But saying a prayer I can get one to hold onto. My grandkids are from 9 to 21 so going to save it for my 1st great grandchild. If I'm not here to see them I am going to put it with my death information so the kids will know to make sure they get it. 1957 was a good year for both of us 😁❤

Hey Hayden Chicken tractor... No, not the mobile roost type, but the kind that allows them to free range, even in a different spot everyday. You build it with a top and sides are low to the ground. Example: 10 x 12 with wheels and a mesh roof to keep the hawks from attacking. Chickens get a new range everyday, the pasture is better managed and everyone’s happy. You just let them into the tractor in the morning and move it to where you want it and dock it back up the the coop at the end of the day.

I was an entertainment editor for a lot of years for a Southern California big paper and several local papers too. Been to too many Backstage meet ups where they hurried the folks took a picture and escorted off very quickly. You have that famous Smith smile welcoming everyone like they are family and take time to learn who they are and probably give the kids memories they will never forget. Found you when ya first began cus wanted to see life after traveling on the road. And you’ve never failed even when it was tough after such a loss and you then shared a life with God. Certain you know how special your own style of a greet is to all those fans as ya watched other stars do their own thing. Just keep it up loving all the greetings you do cus there is magic in your style and one no one will ever forget. I’m at home and I already get excited when you share traveling to different shows. Amber you really shared so much already but this is you being very safety minded just as all us mothers do having a newborn we worry about a lot. When Maverick is older what a strong bed he’s going to be jumping on and certainly will be leaving his teething marks on as well. You have thought of everything to keep this little blessing safe and your own comfort with that great rocker recliner which will last forever. Hope ya have a safe place to save special pieces for your kids babies and your own grand babies too. I still have the rocking chair of 4 generations in my own studio and rock thinking about all the babies rocked in that chair. Of course it’d be nice to see in detail the other rooms but you have a lot of work already and a blessing to care for while still healing your body. And you ARE more beautiful in each video. This video full of so many things it’s hard to pick the best part. You’ve given so much joy to many people and do it with a huge Christian heart. We got a fake owl decoy with Predator lights also Predator lights around the coop , red eyes do something to keep them away , out here in silver lake we have lots of wildlife , we also prison the run , coop nothing can get in or out , ran chicken fencing from ground up with two different types of gauge fencing .. Wow. Had no idea you were doing shows in Oregon. Lakeview Oregon I hope my favorite retired judge came to your concert. He gave me a lot of advice of me taking guardianship of my granddaughter 5 1/2 years ago. Been under evacuation warning for a wildfire and that's why I didn't know you were in Lakeview or I would have made the 6 hour drive to see you
I built a pen with a roof for my chickens to protect them from hawks and it is the only thing i have found that works definitively. Gotta have a roof out here. They all ask me “why dont you free range your chickens?” And i just point up. When my aussie was a tiny puppy they’d try to swoop down and snatch her too. I had to work real hard to get her to a size where they werent interested. Its a dog eat dog world in the wild.
Put out big owl statues in the field maybe with a couple of scarecrows for some reason hawks and other bigger birds don’t like hawk statues lol. We had them flying in our neighborhood, bought two statues and they don’t come around anymore.

Just add wire over the top of your chicken run to keep Hawks out. May need to raise the height of your fence so you can stand inside but works out in the long run.

She was only 32 and Gabriel was only four. He was visiting one day and I was watching The Smiths. I was excited to share the video with him, but he already knew all about Granger and family. He told me your family's whole story and about River. He calls or next me now to remind me to watch the newest video. Couldn't help but notice Amber is looking very pale please make sure your taking vitamins mama from one mama to another it stands out to me to make sure your iron stays at a good level just was concerned by how pale you look. I have 36 chickens that free range and we've been pretty lucky so far. 1 attack (she lived) in the 7½ years we've had chickens. I've heard pinwheels work. I hung up old CDs around the area. Crows!! Find a way to keep crows around! They scare off the hawks believe it or not!! A scarecrow would work if its moved frequently, maybe add some pinwheels to the scarecrow.....good luck!

Tell Hayden I had to put up bird netting (125 ft x 50 ft) because a hawk got one of my chickens and an owl got another one. Since I put up the netting, I have not lost a chicken. Unfortunately Hurricane Ida just put a lot of limbs and half a tree thru the netting and one end of my chicken yard, so I have to replace it.
chicken coop looks pretty hot...full sun, metal.....can you put a tarp up for shade? might help deflect the hawks! a couple of strips of bird scare tape keeps birds out of the berries....so maybe out of the chickens!

Chicken yard top needs to be enclosed to keep hawks out. They get used to decoys that stay in place; and ever so often a clever one disregards any decoy. An enclosed yard is the best way to keep hawks away from chickens.

Amber, if you enjoyed the Medela breast shields better, you can get a backflow protectors with a long stem and connectors to allow you to use them. I decided to get the Medela personal fit flex breast shields because the Spectra were too large and uncomfortable for me. Love seeing your little guy! Makes me miss my baby boy being so small. He turns a year old next month 😭

Shusher is bomb! Love the photobook. The decals are beautiful. Backpack diaper bags are a must especially if you have multiple kids. Didnt kmow tommie tippee had silicone bottles. I used the plastic ones with all of mine and my husband got me glass ones this last time but i have not used the glass as i had a plastic new ones. Thats a pretty cool baby bath/scale- wish i had that with my last two slow gainers... hear the owlet some people love it and some hate it... im too scared of too much electronics and smart things so we try to keep it a minimum with just cell phone.

36 yrs ago, when I was carrying my first son, I have a bright idea....a baby wipe warmer! Well, it was an idea, but a few months later, I saw a baby wipe warmer newly advertised, and knew I wasn't quick enough...lol.....they were not really heard of back then. I LOVE that moving baby seat that plays music....there are so many great things out now! God Bless

That’s an awesome idea on the baby leg bracelet! I don’t know how many times the Wife and I would get up at night, and hold our hand on the baby’s to make sure they were ok! Oh goodness, just seen Granger snatching food from G-Ma! He never meets a stranger does he? Hopefully, one day, we will be able to get up to Billy Bobs when he is playing there. Got a sister going to the show coming up at Billy Bobs, but she didn’t love her younger Brother enough to take me with her!🤣 I’m more of a fan!
Live stock guardian dogs have helped with hawks and foxes for our poultry. We have a 9 year old Maremma that loves protecting our ducks and chickens. She loved our horse too before we had to put him down last October.

Hayden, we put plastic owls that have heads that swivel, on top of a tall pole to keep the hawks away from the chickens. It's definitely helped.

I use Pin Wheels to keep chicken hawks away. You can also find white fabric that flows with the wind, hang it and they will avoid the area.

They make an inexpensive netting that you can get at home depot that will cover the top where the chickens open range.

We got a fake owl decoy with Predator lights also Predator lights around the coop , red eyes do something to keep them away , out here in silver lake we have lots of wildlife , we also prison the run , coop nothing can get in or out , ran chicken fencing from ground up with two different types of gauge fencing ..

Hawks can’t get the chickens if you put chicken wire over the top of the chicken pen yard.
Chickshaw 2.0 and electric netting. No issues with hawks, no poop to clean...

What a difference a year makes.
I built a pen with a roof for my chickens to protect them from hawks and it is the only thing i have found that works definitively. Gotta have a roof out here. They all ask me “why dont you free range your chickens?” And i just point up. When my aussie was a tiny puppy they’d try to swoop down and snatch her too. I had to work real hard to get her to a size where they werent interested. Its a dog eat dog world in the wild.
Put out big owl statues in the field maybe with a couple of scarecrows for some reason hawks and other bigger birds don’t like hawk statues lol. We had them flying in our neighborhood, bought two statues and they don’t come around anymore.

Just add wire over the top of your chicken run to keep Hawks out. May need to raise the height of your fence so you can stand inside but works out in the long run.
Get a fake owl, some have bobble heads that move when the wind blows. Put on a long heavy dowel rod and put in area where chickens roam.

I love the book! Can't wait to order one for Gabriel who is my great nephew and was my daughter Brandies Godson. Brandie went to be our Lord and Savior in 2017 from cancer. She was only 32 and Gabriel was only four. He was visiting one day and I was watching The Smiths. I was excited to share the video with him, but he already knew all about Granger and family. He told me your family's whole story and about River. He calls or next me now to remind me to watch the newest video.

Couldn't help but notice Amber is looking very pale please make sure your taking vitamins mama from one mama to another it stands out to me to make sure your iron stays at a good level just was concerned by how pale you look. There is nothing any greater than a breast feeding mama it's absolutely a wonderful bond and blessing just make sure your taking care of your beautiful self. Cannot wait for the children's book. I have 36 chickens that free range and we've been pretty lucky so far. 1 attack (she lived) in the 7½ years we've had chickens. I've heard pinwheels work. I hung up old CDs around the area. Crows!! Find a way to keep crows around! They scare off the hawks believe it or not!! A scarecrow would work if its moved frequently, maybe add some pinwheels to the scarecrow.....good luck!

Tell Hayden I had to put up bird netting (125 ft x 50 ft) because a hawk got one of my chickens and an owl got another one. Since I put up the netting, I have not lost a chicken. Unfortunately Hurricane Ida just put a lot of limbs and half a tree thru the netting and one end of my chicken yard, so I have to replace it.
The latch on Haydens coop is a plumbing piece. It keeps pipes in place so they don't bang against anything.
chicken coop looks pretty hot...full sun, metal.....can you put a tarp up for shade? might help deflect the hawks! a couple of strips of bird scare tape keeps birds out of the berries....so maybe out of the chickens!

Chicken yard top needs to be enclosed to keep hawks out. They get used to decoys that stay in place; and ever so often a clever one disregards any decoy. An enclosed yard is the best way to keep hawks away from chickens.

Amber, if you enjoyed the Medela breast shields better, you can get a backflow protectors with a long stem and connectors to allow you to use them. I decided to get the Medela personal fit flex breast shields because the Spectra were too large and uncomfortable for me. Love seeing your little guy! Makes me miss my baby boy being so small. He turns a year old next month 😭

Shusher is bomb! Love the photobook. The decals are beautiful. Backpack diaper bags are a must especially if you have multiple kids. Didnt kmow tommie tippee had silicone bottles. I used the plastic ones with all of mine and my husband got me glass ones this last time but i have not used the glass as i had a plastic new ones. Thats a pretty cool baby bath/scale- wish i had that with my last two slow gainers... hear the owlet some people love it and some hate it... im too scared of too much electronics and smart things so we try to keep it a minimum with just cell phone.

36 yrs ago, when I was carrying my first son, I have a bright idea....a baby wipe warmer! Well, it was an idea, but a few months later, I saw a baby wipe warmer newly advertised, and knew I wasn't quick enough...lol.....they were not really heard of back then.
I LOVE that moving baby seat that plays music....there are so many great things out now!

That’s an awesome idea on the baby leg bracelet! I don’t know how many times the Wife and I would get up at night, and hold our hand on the baby’s to make sure they were ok! Oh goodness, just seen Granger snatching food from G-Ma! He never meets a stranger does he? Hopefully, one day, we will be able to get up to Billy Bobs when he is playing there. Got a sister going to the show coming up at Billy Bobs, but she didn’t love her younger Brother enough to take me with her!🤣 I’m more of a fan!
Live stock guardian dogs have helped with hawks and foxes for our poultry. We have a 9 year old Maremma that loves protecting our ducks and chickens. She loved our horse too before we had to put him down last October.
