It's a shame that this fact isn't discussed more and taken into account when jumping into relationships. In my opinion, a big number of people that start dating, marrying, and having intercourse are entirely unprepared for any of it and should stay away from creating children until they mature in their 30s. I think he owned up to it rather than created an excuse. That's how I see it.

You’re so right. When we get married in our 20’s we could be impressionable, have egos...keeping a marriage intact is a Work in Progress. Juggling careers like theirs I can imagine is the Same. People get into affairs for various reasons. But I know that 30 years ago I certainly was less mature than I am today. I have learned to be practical , work harder on my marriage and we Both reap the benefits. Assuring my partner that He is my priority just as I am His is very reassuring . It’s a give and take. Good advice from gifted Marriage counselors is a Big plus.
