I was surprised how difficult it was to find a video focusing on the microphone and phone call quality vs the sound quality for music & gaming. I really appreciate this video. It helped me make a clear decision of the earbud that I'm gonna purchase the MPOW right now.
Hi there Babette! I'm so glad the video was helpful for you ! Lots of wireless earbuds out there these days, so its hard to know the mic quality sometimes. Enjoy your earbuds when you get them (:
The MPOWS are trash, they are the very reason i am looking at reviews now. So if these are being promoted, then this review is trash too. As for sound quality they are ok for music, but the mic is no good. Period.
This is the first ever video I’ve ever come across that USES the mic 🎤 letting us actually HEAR the quality (or lack thereof) of each ear bud. Most videos & reviews only focus on sound quality. Nice job 👍🏽
What is most surprising is most Tech reviewer for some weird reasons don’t review microphones... how most important aspect is easily overlooked by most big tech reviewers... this guy made a super cool, straight to the point video to help many guys like me who wants to buy wireless earphones based on microphone quality... thanks mate!
So glad you found the video helpful brother. I wish I could do more like this but the rate wireless earbuds come out and the cost. Makes it tough ha. So I’m glad for at least this round I could help some folks out. Appreciate you coming through and dropping a comment.
Hey Stacy! So glad the video was helpful to you (: I was impressed with some of the more affordable options as well, especially with the Mpow's. Thanks for stopping by!
Sound quality of the Apple Air Pods Gen 2 is really impressive and absolutely stands out of the cloud. Did you pair it with an iOS device for recording or with something else?
Nice Video, fully demonstrating the voice sound of these. Lots of people want their buds for music, forgetting about the person having to hear them on the other end of the phone. Great Job!
Sincerely appreciate ya taking a moment to drop by and comment ! There’s so many headphones out there. Tough to know what the mic’s will be like. I’m glad you found the video helpful (:
As others have said, this is the PERFECT way to share this kind of info in a YT video. Any chance we could talk you into doing it again, only with dedicated sports earbuds/earhook types? It's freakishly challenging to find reviews of workout buds that focus much at all on call quality. Most don't even mention it. I don't want "epic bass" so I can listen to the Funky Monkey while I'm cycling, I wanna be able to keep talking to people. Anyone else?
My pleasure bro! Glad it helped (: I just posted a new one as well with a handful of new affordable earbuds, a few good ones I didn’t have on here - so take a look there as the enacfire and Liberty air 2’s are really great affordable earbuds (: Be safe and well out there! And thanks for a stopping by to drop a comment !!
I believe the only buds that has dual connectivity (connect your laptop and phone via bluetooth at the same time) and a dedicated mute button is the Jabra elite 75t. That makes them quite unique for calls.
Thank you, I'm getting the MPOWs now, the clear mic sounds is the most important part for me since I'm often switching to Discord on my phone when I need to get up and go somewhere around my house.
I too, appreciate the sound comparisons. This was likely as accurate of a comparison as it gets and leaving the listener to discern which top ones they’ll filter as their first pick. Great Job 🏆. For me, I’ve had the Jabra Elite 75t for a year now and find that buds that fit in my ear eventually cause irritation/inflammation/soreness at ear canal entrance. Anybody please comment or direct me towards a style that kind of hangs yet can be very secure like the AirPod Gen. 2 yet with modern noise cancellation.
Thanks so much for stopping by brother ! Glad the video was helpful (: Take a look at the Anker Liberty Air 2 Pro. I did a video (Best Wireless Earbuds of 2020 Part 3) which had the non pro variants. They were to me the best value per dollar of any ear buds out there. And the Pro’s now add active Noise cancellation. Take a look ! They may be just what you’re looking for.
@@Joshua88Graham Thank you for your reply Josh. I recall that although I never heard of the Anker earbud products before (Liberty Air Pro 2), it was my top two after listening to your test. Now due to your further suggestion, I will watch that other video and learn the specs about the Anker buds. 👍. Robert
MPOW 30s really are a great budget earbud option. In my opinion, call quality sounds similar to the Air Pod Pros for a fraction of its price from your sound samples!! Great comparisons
@@Joshua88Graham Good evening Sorry to bother you. But the Mpow 30 I'm a little confused considering that all the other tests I've seen after yours describe them as really bad for phone calls 😕. I really don't know what to think? I told myself that I had found the ideal pair since I prefer the design way galaxy buds and that my budget is around 30-40 with priority good microphone at the level of airpods pro and galaxy buds plus
@@rolins3279 In the $30-40 range, I would try the Tranya T10 for in-ear style buds or the Soundpeats True Air2 for stem style buds. If you can stretch just a few more dollars, the Earfun Air (Not the Pros) are the better option than either of those.
Is it just me or do the gen 2 AirPods sound SIGNIFICANTLY clearer than all others tested? Regardless of background noise cancellation? I wonder if this has to do with the lack of waterproofing material as it usually covers the speakers and mics.
Hey there Josh! Looks like Mpow may have rebranded to Tribit? Take a look at this link here, looks to be exact as the Mpow30...though not 100 percent sure. amzn.to/2XigBqs
So glad it was helpful to you (: It's tough with so many earbuds on the market these days. I have a new earbud video I just posted as well focusing on the less expensive ones on the market. Some new ones on there. Either way thanks for stopping by to comment, really appreciate the support!!
I've been searching for a quality budget earbud with great mic/call quality for a very long time (about a year now) so I appreciate your video! Can you confirm whether you used a sound recorder to record the sound from the earbud mics? Very surprised with the Mpow M30, Galaxy Buds+ are very good, and so is the Airpod Pros. You may want to try the Google Pixel Buds. Probably the best of them all.
Thanks so much for this, I am fed up with splashing out on earbuds, only to find that everyone complains that they can't hear me, or am I in a tin can? I amnow going to purchase the MPOW's . . .great job! 👍 Have a great weekend and TFS ❤
I’m glad the video was helpful Hazel! There are way too many to keep up with out there for sure, makes it difficult. Just make sure when getting the MPow’s you know which model. I have the Mpow 30 plus. The other variant is a bit older model with a smaller case/less battery life. Be safe and well (:
a few of the earbuds were cutting out in your mic tests.. would you attribute this to the microphone itself, or the b/t connection? am looking for a set of earbuds for zoom calls mainly and don't like big headphones.. thanks.
I’d wager mic. The earbuds and phone were very close by, so connection should be strong. And in terms of playing audio there’s never any cutting out or Bluetooth issues. The main reason for the cutting out, in my opinion, is the mic and headsets ability to drown out background ambient noise whilst allowing the speaker to take center stage. Which is why with some you’d hear both the background noise and me speaking. And others less of the ambient noise and more so me speaking. Then some just really shotty. All ambient levels and settings remained constant during the tests. So the ones that were breaking up..sadly I believe just aren’t good mic’s unless you’re gonna have complete silence. If you’re looking to spend less money, look at the MPOW M30’s, or the Anker soundcore Life P2. The Air Pods Gen 2’s and Galaxy Buds plus perform really well for that 120-160 dollar price point if you wanna take a step up. Hope that helps!
Hey man, when you were resting the call function did you record it from another phone (or the other end of the call). Asking because I trusted another review that did a call test but it seemed like he was just recording from a laptop so the sound was crisp and great. But when I got the same earphones, it was completely different. Had to return it twice but still the same. Anyway, keep doing these, it's very helpful but please record from the (call) recipients end (if you haven't already). Thanks!
Great video! Edited well and it was exactly what I was looking for on google for the past couple of days. This is exactly what I was looking for! I really liked that you started with the airpods because I believe most people that come here are interested in an alternative for them. Thanks!
Thanks so much for the video. I like the MPow 30 and Anker. But, can you give me the complete version name for Anker? I couldn't find it online with the version you mentioned. And was that the MPow 30 Plus with noise cancellation?
So glad the video helped you out a bit Aaron! The Mpow’s definitely surprised me a lot. So far I’ve really been impressed with them, hope you enjoy them to brother (:
Solid video. I think the MPOW30 sounded the best for inexpensive. I have tried the original Galaxy Buds and they weren't good for alls, same for the MPOW13 (which is great for music) and even the Skullcandy Jib is terrible in quiet rooms for calls.
Great video!!! Just exactly what I was looking for. I just wanna confirm that this doesnt affect wether its a zoom call or a regular phone call, right?
My husband had the TaoTronics SoundLiberty 92, they fit him well and decent sound quality, but microphone was trash…many complaints that they couldn’t hear him very well on their phones whenever he used these earphones. Now he’s lost them so I’m looking for new with better mic, good fit, good for work, calls and meetings.
Great effort, thanks. But I think there is something wrong with the set-up or recorder... I personally tried some of these earbuds and never experienced such cut outs. You try again differently....
Appreciate the honest comment! I had ambient sound playing whilst I was recording. So what you are hearing is the mic trying to differentiate between background noise and speaker . I was trying to simulate a somewhat noisy environment rather then a completely quiet one. Though there could have been, like you mentioned, something wrong with specific headsets due to quality control. Every headset was pretty much brand new though for this record. But I did test records a few times on each before posting. All with the loud background ambient noise playing - so what is being heard is the headsets capability at focusing on the speakers voice while in a noisy environment. Thank you so much for the reply though and sharing. I’ll take a look around to see if maybe some headsets may have been duds. Be safe and well brother!
One of the best videos I've seen or heard. I had the Samsung Buds + they were the best but they stopped working. I have the Buds Pro, great sound, Ipx rating is great, but they will not stay in my ears. I cannot find an earbud with great call quality, a good Ipx rating, and a secure fit. Is that asking too much?
Man, finally I get the information I was looking for! No question the MPow's were the best. Are the Mpow's comfortable for a long period of time? Hope you can get more views! Thanks! 🥰 🥰 🥰 🥰
For me the top 3 buds that sounded the best were Apple airpods (no suprise) Anker, and Jlab. From firsthand experience, I have the apple airpod pros and they sound VERY clear. However, i was very disappointed with the mic of the mpow 30's, it sounds a bit weird compared to the ones a listed above however for 30 dollar's does anyone know how they sound gaming. Like during the game or even on discord and xbox.
Really nice video , I have apple airpods pro checked your video and bought mpow30 , Wish I wouldn't have spend 250 dollars. Call quality is almost same in both the earbuds , Overall mpow30 is good.
So glad it could help ya out brother (: I was super impressed with the MPow’s as well. Hopefully I can have some more tests soon ! And I hear ya...man are Apple earbuds (all of em) overpriced ha. Though they are good also
Hey Andy! So glad the video helped you out (: I just posted a new one as well with some other more affordable options also - so take a peek if ya like. Appreciate the support brother ! Thank you. I have a video for a giveaway for some Jabra Elite 75t's - may as well be a part of that to if you'd like ha.
@@timothytitus1891 They are one of the best build qualities out there, and though fit is subjective, one of the mot comfortable. Hope you're enjoying them man (:
I want to film TH-cam videos (yoga type). Idk what to get. You have headphone ones with built in mic, then the short stub single piece for people who work at call centers, then you got the mic only no voice or call where the mic comes in front of mouth and it’s foam padded
Huge help, my brother!!! And you NAILED why I wanted them. Zoom calls. I've been using Zoom for YEARS. Long before the Cv19 sh*t. Side note, made a joke w/a buddy when this all started.... "We should buy stock in Zoom". Epic fail on my part, as it more than quadrupled in value. Never the less, I've got some relatively high end phones but cheaper buds. I've been looking for a way to keep my phone on charge and simply use buds for my Zoom meetings. Well, the cheap ones I've used? Apparently make me sound like I have a mouth full of patio furniture.... And in a bucket.... Under water🤣. While I've seen a few reviews similar, they were all EXCLUSIVELY aimed at the $150 range and up. I'll continue using my phone before coughing up $300 bucks to chat in Zoom. I actually liked the clarity of the Evo(SC), but am a little concerned as to the amount of headroom. They were clean, but quiet. Some of my FAVORITES for music purposes are the SC(skull crushers). And their over ear phones? Bad ass(for drumming at least)!!! Never the less, I may give the Evo a shot anyway. The one thing I've learned about these things? Longevity. The more pricey ones tend to allow for more realistic lifespan(battery). While the cheaper versions tend to do what they claim, they just may not do it for as long. After a handful of charging cycles, you'll begin noticing drop off in the use time. Where as the big dogs hold up much better. So.... What's the extra time worth to you? Me personally? None of these tiny LiPos are made to last. Between loss. Stepping/sitting on. Etc? There's no guarantee your $300 Jammies will make it either. I'd rather have 10 sets of 30 dollar jobs. Personal preference, of course. I am glad to see the "Chime" feature becoming more available in the cheapos. Makes keeping up w/them, much easier. And finally.... As someone who also has a TH-cam channel, I like having the ability to hear different things in different ears. Many times during screen sharing(livestream), there's a delay between what's being seem vs what I'm seeing. A lot of muting and unmuting. I'm always a bit concerned as to what may bleed through and get picked up on my mics. In this case I like having an earbud. Thus, no bleed through. While it may be nerve-wracking to have something in your ear, should I miss a mute que, no one hears it but me. W/that being said, very rarely do these companies tell you(cheap or high dollar), if these buds can be used independently. Meaning, using one, while the other is in the case. And even if they tell you that independent use is a go, they often fail to tell you that ONLY one side has a mic in it. Only one side has control features. Etc. Sure, if you've got that baller status? That Elon Musk wallet weight? Sure, get the new Bose. They're a cold $300+ and guaranteed they'll do EVERYTHING you need. However, if you're like me? Be thankful for reviews like this. Much respect, brother.
What's good brother! Thanks for sharing and taking the time to write out such a detailed comment. Always much appreciated and good for others to read as well. Go to my channel about page, my email is there. Hit me up - I'm in Canada and not sure where you are located, but if you can cover cost of shipping. The Skull Candy Indy Evo's are yours for free. Pretty much brand new, box and all the ear tips unused as well. Either way my dude, appreciate the great comment. Be safe and well out there.
Glad the video was helpful for you John! Thanks for the support and dropping by. Hope to have some more tech stuff up soon. Be safe and well out there brother.
I don't know what Mpow is doing with their mics but they are impressive, their gaming headset the Air Wireless also has an awesome mic compared to some headsets costing literally 10x more.
Hey Joanna, thanks for stopping by and dropping a comment! Yea, they didn’t do a very good job unfortunately drowning out the background ambient noise. In a completely quiet setting they do well, but once there is noise or a loud ambient sounds it begins to stumble while bringing the speakers voice to the forefront...like you said, very strange for 300 plus dollars earbuds .
Sorry, but there is a difference between background noise cancellation and mic quality. You started off talking about working from home, and I don't work from home in a crowded noisy environment. This was a test of background noise removal not mic quality.
Totally understand where you are coming from. My goal was to simulate a noisy environment as you cant always guarantee a quiet space. Many mics will preform decent enough in a quiet space, but once ambient noise begins seeping in things get messy. That was my goal here, to see performance when less than sufficient environments arise. Though I hear what you're saying, appreciate your input and comment brother.
Oh no! My apologies. Literally everyone on my channel is a guy so it’s a habit. But now I know (: Either way, still glad you sided in the mpow’s, I think you’ll enjoy em. And THANK YOU🙏🏼 for the support. It’s very much appreciated!

It's been a month since you got it. Can you share your experience while using the phone through the mpow microphone?
How are they now? It's been 6 months
This is really a great video. We always find video about the paper info of earbuds, not the actual usage of it. This is really great, 🤗
Much appreciated brother! Glad the video helped you out. Hope you’re keeping safe and well out there. Thanks for dropping a comment !!
Nice! Exactly what I needed to know! thanx!
this review video is so underrated!!!
Thanks for the awesome video. Exactly what I was looking for! Could you make an updated version of this please?
@@Joshua88Graham Yep. Clever.
One of the best test videos I've seen and heard. Keep it up!!!
Really glad you found the video helpful brother! Thanks for taking a moment to comment !!
@@Joshua88Graham will continue to watch and support homie!
Absolutely agree about the mpow30
Appreciate the comments (: Yea I am a big fan of the upgraded mpow’s and the enacfire e90’s. Really great value
Great review. Thanks!
No problem! Thanks for watching!
You are a King for making such a video
thank you so much! loved your approach
Man, finally I get the information I was looking for!
No question the MPow's were the best. Are the Mpow's comfortable for a long period of time?
Hope you can get more views! Thanks! 🥰 🥰 🥰 🥰
Has anyone tested the MPOW M30's vs the Edifier TWS1 Pro? (mic quality)
MPOW30 on the cheaper end. I was looking for a video like this.
What’s up Daryl! Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to comment. Glad the video was informative for you (:
For me the top 3 buds that sounded the best were Apple airpods (no suprise) Anker, and Jlab. From firsthand experience, I have the apple airpod pros and they sound VERY clear. However, i was very disappointed with the mic of the mpow 30's, it sounds a bit weird compared to the ones a listed above however for 30 dollar's does anyone know how they sound gaming. Like during the game or even on discord and xbox.

Thanks! Short sweet and to the point. Great review.
You should try the Mpow x3
Hey Luis. Thanks for dropping by and commenting (: I will def take a look at those!
I completely agree with your conclusion mpow 30 i. pods and the galaxy did very well
Appreciate you stopping through brother! And I agree, both very good choices. Be safe and well out there
Really nice video , I have apple airpods pro checked your video and bought mpow30 , Wish I wouldn't have spend 250 dollars.
Though they are good also
great review man! i love that you let us hear the sound, that really helps! i’m going to have to listen a few times to decide.
Hey Andy! So glad the video helped you out (: I just posted a new one as well with some other more affordable options also - so take a peek if ya like. I mostly do fashion stuff now but will always have tech videos monthly. So I appreciate the support and you taking some time to comment. Be safe and well out there!
Hey Josh, your video really helpful and I'm surprised that Mpow 30 works really great... and I'm your 365th subscriber lol 😆🤣..
Sorry it took so long to get to this message brother :D I really do appreciate all the support, thank you so very much for watching and commenting - subscribing, ALL OF IT haha. Be safe and well out there.
came from RFD, mic test was useful for comparisons
Appreciate the support brother ! Thank you. I have a video for a giveaway for some Jabra Elite 75t's - may as well be a part of that to if you'd like ha.
This was a useful video, thanks.
Hey Timothy, so glad the video helped (: Thank you for stopping by and commenting
No worries, I ended up getting the Jabra 75t.
Be safe and well out there.
have you tried sony XF-1000M3? it suckssss..expensive with a failed noise cancelling background for call..you can try to confirm that
Efficient & honest. I appreciate you for this. Are you a sound engineer or something?
Thank you from London Josh. You just saved me wasting £120 . Great job and keep going. Subscribed
Thank you for doing this. 🤗
You’re most welcome (: Thanks for watching and commenting!
Can mpow work on team and zoom meeting?
Title Text Here were the best 😂
Such a stark difference. Were you testing all of them but Air Pods 2nd gen underwater? 😅
i'm shocked at the seenheisers.... $300 for horrible call quality.... thanks for the video... 👍
Does someone uses one of these for Home-Office?
Shocked....mouth open...regarding the premium priced and highly reviewed Jabra! I cannot use that for work!
What I don't get is why the cheap earbuds sound like you're getting cut off on a bad cell phone connection. Is the microphone really that bad?
Came here wondering if I really needed the Airpods with my new iPhone. Turns out, I do. Thank you for saving me and my loved ones from an awful mic.
Can you do one with wireless headphones? :)
I love scull candy's normally but they were so quiet
You're awesome, thank you so much man
Sorry, but there is a difference between background noise cancellation and mic quality.
Skull candy sounds clear
Hey there brother! The skull candy are definitely a nice sounding pair of earbuds (: Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
Try, reviewing a store called five and below brand called prime audio. The ear buds go for 9 to 10 bucks
Airpods Gen 2 was the best
it helped, i just purchased the mpow 30's
Glad it helped ya out brother! I was super impressed with the mpow’s. They’ve been great so far for me
