This game is called Spawn: In the Demon's Hand for Dreamcast.
It's pretty good and I think it should be restored as a downloadable arcade game for Steam, Xbox and Playstation.

When I was a kid, they had an arcade cabinet for this game at a local mini-golf venue. Had more fun playing this game than golfing! I hope they could add this on Steam one day
Even though I was disappointed at the time that it was purely a melee title, I still played the hell out of it. A much-needed improvement over "Spawn: The Eternal."
This game is godlike. This was my favorite game on Dreamcast

NGL this game, Power Stone 2 and PSO was my pre-pubescent drug addiction. Playing with my brother was a complete blast.
Power Stone was soo cool on Dreamcast. I didn't know it had a sequel.

Heavy Metal Geomatrix was also made by Capcom for Arcade which got a Dreamcast port.
It as well as Mobile Suit Gundam Federation vs Zeon were and Spawn were all originally arcade games before they got ported. Heavy Metal felt like a more balanced game than Spawn. Like they saw the problem of Spawn and fixed them in Heavy Metal. Though the arenas are more basic which I guess helps with the camera.
There was also Sega's Outtrigger arena shooter and of course Virtual On: Octario Tangram which were also originally arcade games that were ported to the Dreamcast and those were also more balanced games.
This game is my all time fave I have it on emulator and play it often. So awesome!
So happy someone is dedicating to this game. This game was my absolute favorite growing up. I played it for the first time when my Brother in Law had a Dreamcast and had this as one of the games me and a cousin got to play a lot of; next to some other Capcom stuff as well.
The game also got me into the Spawn franchise as a whole. So I thank In The Demon's Hand for that. Seen the HBO Animated Show, 90s Film, and dug into the comic itself. I also got ahold of Spawn Armageddon too.
I've got this for my dreamcast at home and it is a BEAST of a game to enjoy playing!

PERHAPS ONLY ERIC CARTMEN WILL EVER UNDERSTAND THAT THE DREAMCAST IS TO THIS DAY IN MANY REGARDS WITHOUT PEER.
The only Spawn game I knew about was the Super Nintendo game. Which I LOVED as a kid. Spawn has always been my number 2 super hero behind Batman of course. I've been waiting for that new Spawn movie but I don't think it's going to happen.
I liked the SNES game too but i found it hard because the inputs for some special moves were awkward.
Personally I preferred the Spawn game on the first PlayStation...it was amazing...I never played a Spawn game on SNES or Dreamcast but I bet they are awesome also lol

I used to play this as a kid with my best friend, and was shocked that so many people either have a negative opinion of the game, or just haven't even heard of it.
I had a 3DO that I could rent from the video store and I also got to play Road Rash and Slayer. Fun times 😁

Hey! I was wondering what is your Setup with the Dreamcast? you played this with an HDMI Adapter or VGA? Cause its 16:9 and looks really awesome. i play the PAL Version with HDMI Adapter and it has no VGA Support so i force the game into HDMI with my Xploder Boot Disc. Thats probably the reason why mine doesnt look as sharp as yours. Awesome gameplay

The Violator has siblings all having unusual V-names. The most recent Spawn comics introduced another one which is a female named "Viscerator".
My brother & I played this religiously back in the day. I gotta secure a Dreamcast and find this sh*t.
Just played it, its pretty cool. Some of the unlockable characters are either useless or overpowered, they could do a bit better in that regard, but the combat is pretty cool and has a good amount of modes. Worth checking out.

I would like a quality of life gameplay improvement hack which has been done more and more lately with retro games.
I mean just look at Smash Remix for N64
