Hi ladies! Baltimore girl here... Lovely Yarns, Neighborhood Fiber Co., Cloverhill Yarn Shop, Black Sheep Yarn Shop. These are the most prominent ones that I can think of. Also, those new Noro yarn colors are gorgeous and that Kokomo is so reminiscent of 60's. (No opinions or questions this week but I love the hashtag idea! Great podcast ladies!

Jen, have you considered The Drawing Sweater for your colorwork class? It is only two colors but would be a good beginner pattern. I have been learning yarn management, floats and all that by knitting this pattern. As the pattern covers most of the sweater you knit from charts for most of the sweater.
Enjoyed this episode, as usual. Those Noro yarn colors are amazing!! I would like to hear the #opinions on the preferred method for small circumference knitting for sleeves, socks, hats, etc…magic loop, DPNs, small circumference needles (8”, 9” or 12”)

Thank you again for an informative podcast. My question is: With all of the beautiful yarns you stock, how do you go about choosing the right one for a particular pattern? I've made a few wrong choices, even when the gauge was correct.
Kathleen, could you have a zoom or workshop, even paid to show how to put together because it's so tricky and so many people feel that way. haha! Thanks for the consideration! I agree with blankets being a bit big to start off but I think you have to find something that gives you momentum that you really want to have because dishcloths kept me from continuing the hobby. When it was something I wanted, I stuck with it.- Kimberly

What trending knitwear design do you like/agree with and more interesting, what trends do you hate/disagree with. Thanks for the fun video.
As a teacher of knit and crochet, I think the student should make what they are excited to make. If they want to start with Amigurumi then they will be more successful if they make an easy item. If they want to make granny squares, they should. If they don't know, then to rectangles, and turn them into a bow. As it can be finished in a class. But if the student wants the final item, they will be willing to put in the effort. If they are not interested in the item, they will put it down before they even try.
Thanks for your comment! I agree up to a point. I have seen quite a few people be frustrated with a large project as their first project and then they often give up the craft entirely. I feel it's important to show them how the things they're learning in smaller pieces will help them accomplish their ultimate goal of the "big thing". Most people get a boost from the sense of accomplishment of completing something, even if it's small. Those boosts can be the impetus for them to keep going and eventually accomplish their big goal. ~K🧶

What is your #opinion on blocking? Is it always necessary? Does the finished item need to be aggressively pinned , or can it just be laid flat to dry?
Hi gals. Whenever I see a pattern with short rows I skip it. They scare me. What method of short rows do you recommend and how do I get over my fear of knitting them?😋
Love your podcast! After knitting a bunch of sweaters that were too big, I finally learned not to include negative ease for sweaters knitted with super washed yarn because of the stretch factor, is this a safe bet?
Hi there - I think you mean not include positive ease - that is, extra fabric larger than your body size. Superwash yarns do tend to stretch in blocking and washing more than non-superwash yarns. The weight of the yarn (i.e., fingering vs. bulky) will also be a factor. Also, if you tend to be a loose knitter (as I am), I've found that your fabric at the same gauge is likely to stretch more than a tight knitter's will. So there are many things to consider. I always gauge swatch for sweaters, but I know that a full garment may not act exactly like the gauge swatch for the reasons mentioned. I hope this helps! ~K🧶

Should there be some kind of standard of what that means? How do you feel about popular designers not including a wide range of sizes in their patterns? I could go on...

#opinion If you like the look of a sweater style, say raglans, but the typical construction doesn’t fit well on you, do you modify the construction for a better fit or avoid those types of sweaters?

What do you think about short rows in crochet? Do they help? I have never done short rows and am doing the Mosaic Jumper by Sandra Gutierrez and I am scared.
I haven't done any crochet patterns using short rows, but it makes sense that they would help -- because of the way our bodies are shaped -- it's more comfortable to have a sweater be higher at the back neck than the front and short rows are the easiest way to achieve this. ~K🧶
