Probably because there were a lot of scare articles back when cell phones had no real history to study, that sort of stuff makes the news much easier than science slowly proving how safe something is
putting it in your chest has the same chance of getting cancer as putting it in your hand. It doesn’t change just because it’s a different part of your body. Also, it’s just a screen and a case. Screens are the most harmless things skin can touch.
@@slifer4912 I'd be more concerned about my boobs dialing 911 by constantly mashing the screen way before I worried about cancer. That's why I don't keep my phone in my boobs. ...I keep my keyfob in there. :3
@@Erideah There was never really any expectation of finding any harm from them in the first place, it's not like radio waves were still a novelty when cellphones were introduced. But it's good that the lack of harm has been confirmed by additional studies.
Okay Mouse but being “nice” and “respectful” about Mel’s thighs is entirely different than your average Vtuber. Mel would *like* us to say we “want those thighs wrapped around my neck so tight I pass out” whereas you can’t say that to most streamers.
there was a big fear mongering event when cellphones first got popular b/c a bunch of disingenuous talking heads scared people on the news. Basically they deliberately conflated phones emit radiation (as in they emit energy) with phones emit ionizing radiation (what most people mean by radiation, the actually dangerous kind). Literally anything that has a temperature above absolute 0 emits "radiation". They didnt bother to explain the difference or pretended it was scary anyways and blah blah blah ratings and scared moms.
That's because back in the dnay and even now there were scare articles in the paper. Radio-waves are non-ionizing, meaning they don't cause molecules to alter, if they don't alter there is no way for DNA to alter and give you cancer.
That's fake, I sleep with my devices less than a feet away, that's my two switches and my phone. If that was a real thing, I would have gotten cancer already.
Same also if a phone did give off that kind of radiation it would be recalled and discontinued due to it causing harm to the consumer since America typically had safeguards around that junk also that kind of energy would let phone last longer so they’d never go for it
@@Theprince034 If phones but off the radiation that some people claim an entire stadium of people would die and a few miles away people would get radiation poisoning
I thought the point was over 30-40-50 years we would see an uptick in cancer diagnosis, not that our phones are literally radioactive and dangerous to be around. That’s at least what I have heard about this
actually years ago, phones emitted enough radiation to power up LEDs in special phone cases that we would buy at the fair. soo when your parents say, careful phones give cancer, they are not wrong, they just don't know that phones evolved a lot and dont emit soo much radiation anymore, for this case alone, its still mandatory to have warning at gas stations to not use your phone near the pump, even tho now we have phones permanently linked to the internet and such. Always respect your parents
Where else are you supposed to put your phone? It’s not like they give women pockets

That got confirmed sometime ago lol. She said that she wants to have a reduction done.

Most people think it's disgusting when girls pull things like money out of their bras. Especially grocery store clerks 😂
My mother said the same thing about the phone and cancer.
i have a coworker who says the same crap... its absolutely false

My mom always tells me not to keep my phone near me when I sleep, or I'll get cancer

But not when you're awake? 😂
I guess Mel could ask Sinder for the experiences Mousey got denied by her mom.
It may not give you cancer, just a sever case of nipple poisoning...also is Mel Canadian, the soaries?
Severe, sorry.
Oh, Mel's pathologically Canadian!
1:52 yeah that's not technically true. Radio waves have lower energy than visible light so if radio waves give people cancer, so would a flashlight. 😂

Not all radiation is dangerous, your TV remote emits radiation, just as a lightbulb does, and you body does as well.
