When I was a kid of 11 yr old in 1973 living inDetroit my family I would drive pass Laura Lee’s beautiful home with a white Rolls Royce her driveway and we would always say that’s Laura Lee’s home little did I know that 15 yrs later I would marry Laura Lee’s niece “small world” indeed!!!😊
One more thing I got the chance to meet her in 2000 in Detroit it was an honor!!
@jontewilliams6957 I didn't know that! What area did Mrs. Lee live in? Eastside or Westside?
Fell in love with Laura Lee in 1972 while working as A radio announcer at WJWS radio South Hill Virginia she touched my heart and my soul and she has possessed me sense so much feeling and emotion. Mr. K Calvin King
Ah!!!!! The orchestration!!!! Don’t sleep on the orchestration. Laura, Isaac Hayes, and Barry White laid down the dopest strings ever recorded. This sound just rips my heart out every time I hear it. And I remember when it was originally released.
Walter Johnson • THANK YOU for sharing the HISTORY!!! For DECADES I couldn't find out any more about the orchestration/arrangement of THIS version! I listen in AWE...of her DELIVERY and the arrangement. It BLOWS me away EACH and every time I listen to it!

For ME - after Lenny Welch AND Laura Lee, there are NO other versions that "move" me like theirs!
@@ariesgirl54ify ABSOLUTELY agree, fellow Aries!
This song will always have a special place for me as far as music is concern. It memorable and unforgettable. Laura Lee tagged this one forever.
The hurt is real - as exemplified by the mastery of Ms. Lee.

A song that touches my heart very deeply. It makes me feel tearful but in a good way. A classic.
She could not have done it better! Laura Lee take a bow!
I cry every time. Just when I think I've let go of my heartbreak, this song takes me back.
Good
So many superb versions of this song. Don't sleep on Laura Lee, who still sings Gospel in Detroit, MI... Bless you, Goddess!!
Edward, its probably not appropriate to say R.I.P ... she is still alive. She is actually my grandmother...she lives in Detroit. She still sings in church from time to time.
I gladly stand corrected Karlton, and have made the adjustment. Apologize to the Goddess and your family for me.
Apology accepted my friend. No worries.
With that being said, her musical legacy reigns on. She has new/unreleased material that she is sitting on and wont release.
As an artist, I know what that's about, but her fans would love to hear more from her. Bless her decision though, whatever it is. Maybe... well, some of MY music is looking for a goddess' vocalization. Find me at facebook.com/mredolover/app/2405167945
Karlton Sutherland Your great-grandmother is the late Ernestine Rundless? Your family is fantastic, especially Della Reese.
This song has been covered by so many artists, but, this is my favorite! Back in the 70's it was released on the HOT WAX label and the radio DJ's in Chicago Ill just couldn't play this enough for me and I was only 17!
My favourite too. Bought the album in 1971 (when I was also 17) and still listen to this track every week. Amazing vocals. I think we both had great taste for 17 year olds!!
Steve, London
Yes, I agree that this one is the best with a little twist..... This song became a big hit for Lenny Welch when he recorded it.... Today "Laura Lee' sings gospel...... November 25, 2014

Mine too! Even more than the 'original'
Love it. Love it. Love it.
A STRAIGHT UP MASTERPIECE.
YESSS!
My God, I've been searching for this amazing, soulful song for years....I feel as though she's singing about my painful first marriage and how I left a wonderful, beautiful soul of a man to get with a man I loved beyond reason and the gut wrenching pain of getting over him....Then I learn that she's from my own home town Detroit and still lives here and sings at her Chuch sometimes. I'd love to meet her. God Bless you Ms. Laura Lee.
Laura Lee fans, you are NOT ready for this: check out actual television performance footage of the one and only Miss Laura Lee here on TH-cam as The Meditation Singers-"Jesus, Be A Fence." Laura Lee's peformance is MAGNIFICENT. When Laura later debuted "Since I Fell For You" on the Soul Train TV Show in 1971, she admitted to host Don Cornelius that the rap intro was actually Laura's own true story, adding "I can't find him..." This is truly the definitive version of song and can never be topped
The very best version..hands down
I was a victim also but this song made come out of that wold thank you. GREAT SONG!!!!!!
Haven't heard this in years. I'd forgotten about it. love Laura Lee
My joint from high school 1972. The girl was bad sung her heart out! Wow!!
No one sings this with the passion of Laura Lee .. I recall this from the 60's.
Laura Lee - This verizon of (Since I fell for You) it's the one who made Me love the Song!

The deepest deep soul. Laura Lee is the original and best deep soul singer.
Great artist whom we shared a plan ride from Chicago to Raleigh-Durham Airport shortly after the release of this song.
in my opinion the best version of this song ever recorded.the rap in the beginning was completely her own and written about her former lover,Al Green. When she sings the first You in the first verse she will bring tears into your eyes.I cant even listen to anyone else sing this song.
+Speedo “Harmonica” Jones Thank you for sharing this!...I always wrestle with which one I like the best and since you said it straight out now I can too...used to say it was the Lenny Welch version. But it's REALLY, REALLY this one! Uhhm, Uhhm, Uhhmm. Lord Have Mercy!
It's The 4th Time I Saw Someone Say, She's Singing About Al Greene. It Must Be True. Al Greene Was Always A ❤️ Heartbreaker -Eh. Those Aries Men Are Not Loyal To One Woman For Too Long. They Love You And Leave You -EVERY Time -Eh. I Bet He's Still 'Tired Of Being Alone'.
🌹🌹🌹😍😘💚
Awesome Artist... 8 - track tape of Laura Lee's Hits. High-school 1972... Baby sister standing on the backseat hump pantomime the song while I drove. LOL ❤️ 😆 🤣 ❤😂❤
Simply marvelous
The best .. again my teenage years.. the 70’s !!
You are so sosososo talented
You are so sosososo brilliant
Not sure why a previous comment brought up Isaac Hayes and Barry White, because the plethora of lush sounds in this piece were arranged/produced by none other than William Weatherspoon (R.I.P.). Anyhow... This, undoubtedly, is the preeminent version of the song. Laura puts her own distinguishing touch to it and, let's just face it... none of the other takes even come close to this production-wise.
Lady Laura Lee smokes this song, and so did my sister Herdia, Rhonda and Bonnie and Me know it by
heart. Laura Lee begin that talking out the story in song.
The Album and the Promotional 45 r.p.m. Single were a Gift too me. This woman has a Voice Like No Other.
No body can't never ever take your place
You are so superb
absolutely the my favorite version of this song.
You are a genius
Finally,...I thought sooner or later someone would upload this version! Thanks. Let's not talk bout how long ago this song was out. Suffice it to say I saw her perform (lip sync?) this song on TV, which says I must be an old man!!!!!
THIS IS THE JAM ! ! !
Absolutely beautiful.
When that beat drops at 6:13............yeah, that part !
That Ghostface! I need that one part on a loop

I've been searching for this song for years. I first heard it as a teen but couldn't remember the artist who sang this soulful rendition. Thank you Ms Laura Lee! I love this version above all others ❤️❤️
I read that Ms. Laura Lee took this song to express the feelings she had for soul singer Al Greene and the relationship they had
I Love Him Too -Still!!!🌹🌹🌹😍😘💚
Oh, wow...Never knew that... But it rings true because I always felt it was about SOMEONE in her very OWN life...You can't express gut-wrenching pain like that in a song UNLESS you've LIVED it...Kudo's to You Always Miss Lee!!! You possess TRUE Star Power!!! 🤩
