Andy great review of the new dongle and again I have the bug in my head that I should have bought it but I have the ibasso DC04pro you mentioned here and I am very happy with it. Your videos have a huge priceless price. Keep going. BRAVO.
Very nice review and great to see so many great options on the market! Congratz to Aklian! But now I'm quite satisfied with my Onix Alpha 😊🎶 Have a great week! 💯
Thank you Andy. Regarding the output power, although the nominal value is very low, it was tested with very low distortion. It's very simple if they want to write this value higher, but in reality, most IEMS cannot withstand such a large power. Even if it can, the distortion will be very large, which is actually misleading to consumers. Summary: Do not be surprised or disappointed by the values provided by the manufacturer.Only after comparing and testing can we know everything. Your test is a model and very objective. Everyone is looking forward to you providing more content.
Thanks Jason, appreciate your feedback and compliment. I will do my best to improve on my content delivery and retain what's already working. You have a great weekend there!

Great review thank you Andy! I came across this DAC 2 days after ordering the TempoTec Sonata BHD Pro which uses 2* CS43131 DAC chips, but apparently after flashing the firmware with a new firmware update, one reviewer said that notes felt thicker and more musical than other DACs with the same chips. I got it for about $40 USD. The Aussie dollar isn't great at the moment so budget option help! I wonder how the TempoTec Sonata BHD Pro @ 280mW/32Ω will compare to this AkLIAM PD6. Power wise they're probably equivalent enough, a reason to switch would be if the sound was more enjoyable in tone/detail/spacing, and the buttons being able to pause and skip tracks is very welcome. Wish that was standard on dongle DACs.
@@AndyAudioVault Thank you for your reply Andy 😊 I figured you didn't have one, I mainly commented to add to the discussion of DAC offerings for everyone to read, including the firmware flashing option which is semi unique to the Sonata BHD pro. Thanks much for so detailed review with score and every aspect. Really inspired me to want PD6. I'm new to IEM world and have few questions 👀 1. Currently my main IEMs is Pula PA02, as DAC I'm using BTR5 via USB. Will I hear any noticeable difference if I'll use Pula PA02 with PD6? 2. Pula PA02 comes with 2.5mm balance cable and I'm using them with BTR5 2.5mm balance hole. So in case of using PD6 I need 2.5mm to 4.4mm adapter? Thanks in advance 🤝
Thanks! Unfortunately I have no experience with BTR5 so it will be hard for me to imagine what sort of improvements of difference PD6 would offer versus BTR5. But I do know if you want the very best under $100 dongles now, PD6 is the prime candidate. To use your 2.5mm BAL on the 4.4mm BAL on PD6, yes you will need to use an adapter, should work like a charm
My ideal portable DAC: 1) Bluetooth with mic integrated into dongle itself (qualcomm BT chip) 2) Desktop setup compatible 3) Fine volume control (0.1 dB increments) 4) Changeable battery
That's absurd, you can't hear a 0.1 dB difference in proper scientific blind tests, the minimum is 0.5 dB. Somewhere around 0.4 dB people start answering 50% correct 50% wrong if they heard a difference, so there we start to guess randomly, we can't hear it.
Hello my friend, the next product won't be available so soon, it should take a long time to arrive. We have noticed that we are releasing new products a bit too quickly😂. At present, our products cover common dongle dac chips, such as AK4493, ES9039, CS43131, CS43198 (single). Would this Akliam PD6 (or other dongle?) be another upgrade and how is power consumption because DH80s had its own battery which is a plus. Hi Andy, is it worth to buy ibasso dc07pro which price is 2x of this pd6? 500mW instead 243mW on 4.4 makes sense? Will it be enough for something like beyerdynamic 250ohm or they both drive equal and no need more power than 243mw?
Don't be misled by these parameters. In terms of power, there are at least 2 limiting conditions: the resistance of the load and the distortion. As far as I know, there is almost no difference in output volume between the 240MW PD6 and the 400/500mW of other products when using the same audio source and IEM, so what happened?

Andy, can you help me? I bought the xduoo link 2 bal (the old verson), it arrived without any problems and I have been using it ever since. It turns out that I always thought the sound was a bit shouty, but I thought the problem was with the headset, until I downloaded the xduuo volume app for Android and it seems like magic happened, the sound improved a lot. There was no longer the shrill and shouty sound, even if I increase the volume. However, this only happens if I activate this application. On the PC, the same problem still occurs, because there is no app. The same thing happen to you? Is my device defective? Of course the "right" sound is toned with the application, which should only be for volume, not tuning. Is it normal? The dongle was not supposed to just work correctly if you just use the app.
For anything up to 24 Ohm and sensitivity above 103 dB, both 3.5mm and 4.4mm are pretty much equal, assuming that the connected IEMs are efficient. But of course the 4.4mm side will start to pull some weight with better dynamics, sound authority and staging when paired with highly scalable partners from 32 Ohm onwards or lower than 100 dB of sensitivity

@@AndyAudioVault Between the dual CS43198 and single ES9039Q2M, what is the benefit of having a dual DAC chip?"
@@kwatch1215 ESS9039 can achieve balanced output with a single chip, while CS43198/CS43131 requires two chips. In fact, the cost of a single ES9039 chip is even more expensive than two CS43198/CS43131 chips. It's just a difference in chip design
No I did not have that issue. My DC04Pro is consistent regardless where I plugged it
How does it compare with other ESS dongles like M12i?
M12i is warmer sounding
Does 3.5mm vs 4.4mm matter for this dongle? I heard it varies per device
@@AndyAudioVault ohh interesting thanks for the info. Would the cca hydro need a 4.4mm then since it's about 102 db I believe
ONIX Alpha XI1 Firmware V1.1.3 review sir is there any improvements?
I think it sounds better but I might be imagining it. More air and better extended highs.
@@D1N02 have you already updated yours? the update says it supports DSD512
@@jeffjemaol5009 I have. Can't check DSD, have no files.
Is this man's cervical spine pointed to the left?
Is that a problem?

Can you compare please with the Roseselsa rs9039 ?
RS9039 offers sharper edged imaging and brighter too, less organic. RS9039 is the type of sound appealing to ESS Sabre hallmark sound
@@AndyAudioVaultthe pd6 is bassier ?
@@AndyAudioVaultHi. Please advise on the chips. Is there a preference in choosing chips and how are they positioned? What is preferable for planars CL or ESS?
Today i received the pd6, big disappointment :(
It steal the subs of my iems and it has sharp fatiguing highs.
