I took my Akliam PD6 with me to Canjam Dallas last week. Listened to ~20 IEMs, including the Thieaudio Origin and Campfire Astrolith with it. Pretty mindblowing, but for my budget, was most impressed with the Ziigaat Doscinco and just ordered that.
Excellent review and comparisons, highly informative, I hope you get the chance to compare the PD6 to the Kinera celest CD-20 as it also has the ES9039 , but with smaller chassis and very good tactile buttons.
Hey monk, i have the onix alpha, got it for 80 dlls, i have the fiio ka13, paid around 65, and the tp20, for 33 dlls, right now pd6 is around 75 dlls and the aful snowynight is also about that price... i was watching the ru7 but its 150 dlls... so if you can help me i will aprettiate so much... also i was watching the Shanling UA6, but im not so convinced about it.............had an eye on tp50 but its a little bit more expensive than pd6 and snowynight.. tp50 is around 85 dlls.
Great review... as always. For your Onix Alpha... just get a better phone... or use it w your laptop. 😛 BTW, someone said the Onix is available on sales for a lower price. (Did you update the firmware or did you keep it at the original factory release?) I think you're spot on w the DC Elite and that's probably my next dongle unless something better comes along. On a different note... Can you do a video on upgrade or replacement cables for IEMs? I've got the Dita Project Ms and was curious about cable options and their impact on sound. ( e.g. would a silver cable make the iems sound too bright?) Thx
@@ouaille13 True. I was just teasing TDM btw... Honestly though I think the power helps w the sound stage and 'presence'. On my macbook, I use the midi app to upsample the output to 786kHz @32bits which the Onix can see and play. (I don't think most of the same priced dacs can do this... I think they go up to 384kHz) So w a good USB-C Thunderbolt 4 cable... it sounds awesome. And to be honest, the Onix Alpha has some warts. That's why I'm looking at the DCElite as a future option.
@@m_yy_m example with ibasso cb19. You supply your dongle with stable and full power on stable external battery rather than relying on your phone output.hungry dongles will deliver better amplification and détails, with better control in the treble. Today I use all the 10+ dondles I own like this, from lpw1 up to DC elite. From the last reviews, seems the onix is only safe this way. But overall all are getting improved, sound matters.😊

Although the manufacturer's name is AkLIAM, rather than AKLAIM, these dongles do seem to be worthy of acclaim.

Back in the days, every dongle had ess chips. Now its so rare, i am literally looking for one.
I see Fiio is also doing the new ES9069 in the BTR17
@tonedeafmonk Also the Musehifi M5 Ultra.

or use it with external battery, Y cable. It improves many dongles this way.
@@ouaille13 what is the name of the y cable? Does it work with any dongle/phone? How does it improves sound? Thanks

Multi Prongle.
Nice intro music. Not giving up my Cayin. RU7 for one of these just yet.
As you shouldn't they are not at that level.
