Thank you for the straight forward analysis. I have moss on my roof and am trying to decide what to use to get rid of it. I think I will do what you did. Try a small section with each product and see what works the best.
I am interested in an update on this. How long did those treatments (vinegar or bleach) last before the moss or algae reappeared? How often are these treatments needed to keep the moss or algae controlled? Thanks. And those of you who scrubbed down the surface with a brush or sponge after applying the spray and then hosed down the wall or deck, did you get better results?
Care to share the ratio of water & bleach? She used 50% bleach + 50 % water. My Expirience: I tried 25% bleach + 75% water + 1 cup of any brand of dish soap. Soap help the clorox (bleach + water) to go inside holes & cracks and spread it evenly. In other words, it acts as a surfactant. Leave it about 15 minute or more. Rinse afterwards. Dont be alarm if the floor or surface, still produce small bubbles even after you rinse it. It will help you to clean your house even longer. Rain will eventually rinse it for you. If you need fast result, After spray the solution, Leave it for 10 minute and scrub with brush. Leave it for another 10 minutes. Rinse it with a pressure washer. It works like crazy for me.
I am just seeing this method now. My wall is tyrolean but its like the algea/moss is inbetween the tyrolean and concrete. Will this still work for me? Its beginning to loosen up the tyrolean on the bottom of the wall
No Ron I did not! My roof is in need of scrubbing first! Its got so much thick layer of green stuff😏 Once I do that I can try vinegar but as long as I have these big trees above that roof its really hard to keep up with this stuff!
Wow!!! I would definitely go with Vinegar. Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!💖

Vinegar using full strength works. It just takes a little more time.
Thanks so much for this. I guess I must have a whole bottle of either one for this task alone.
Very helpful. Thankyou!!
Thank you, I enjoyed that very simple method on how to remove algae.
I used bleach and water last year and my fence is still moss and algae free.

Is it possible to get it off simply by brushing with a hard bristle hand brush ?
