    Josh, a little tip: You could use a pop filter to block the unwanted noise on your Neumann. Great content as always though!

    Great to hear you singing as you're demonstrating and making your point. I always sing along with my students - and encourage them to do likewise as they practise. Thank you for another inspiring tutorial.

    I’m studying the Bach inventions and will start w Sinfonia 9 soon. I have them in a good book from my local thrift. I chart them myself in MuseScore and work out the fingering. This way I can adjust the formatting and font sizes to see all the details very well. It works great and MuseScore is shareware. It has a synth for playback. Notating by hand would work but this method makes it easy to isolate sections and anything you want to do.

    I am self-learning two parts invention these days. Even though I can't play it like a pro-pianist but the set teaches me a lot. The 'add-on' practising he mentioned is very helpful. It makes both analysing and memorising easier. It is hard to not think about the strucuture of the music you play if you practice that way.

    Thanks so much! This is my next piece as per my teacher's plan and I'm sure the whole video will help me out with it (I'm a lifetime propractice sub). Question, I don't see any Haydn at all, I wonder if it's just not popular in the states? In Spain usually we are introduced to sonata form beginning with Haydn early sonatas, e.g I'm doing now sonata in A major, hob: XVI, no 5

    I have a dumb question...why in first note of measure 3 does my score show the same F for the right and left hand? Do I play this F with both hands?

    • @derinderruheliegt
      @derinderruheliegt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I play it only with the left hand. Since I’m doing a crescendo in the LH part, which culminates with the F, I found it easier to land with the LH.

      @@joshwrightpiano My father bought me a Yamaha studio grand piano for my 16th birthday, after 10 years of classical piano study. I had that piano for 46 years & absolutely loved it. That same model # now has different specs. For example, instead of a working sostenuto pedal, that pedal is mute. Sadly, I was forced to sell it last year when my husband & I downsized & moved to a different country. 😢 Fortunately, the guy that bought it had been looking for the exact model I had, & he paid my asking price without batting an eye. After we moved into our beachfront condo, I purchased a Yamaha digital piano. It’s actually very nice, & the action feels like my studio grand. It even has 3 working pedals. I didn’t think I would ever find a digital piano that I would like, but I do like this one, & it’s better for this tropical humid climate than an acoustic piano would be.
