    A film about the City of London, the Corporation that runs it, and its role in the economic crisis. By Michael Chanan and Lee Salter. See www.secretcity-thefilm.com
    IT'S ALMOST A YEAR since anti-capitalist protestors, intending to set up camp in front of the London Stock Exchange in Paternoster Square under the banner of Occupy LSX, were ejected from the square and parked themselves instead in front of St Paul's Cathedral. The result was one of the starting points for this film: a highly public debate about capitalism and the Church.
    But there was also another power acting in the shadows to eventually eject the Occupiers - the City of London Corporation. An ancient body which dates back before William the Conqueror, before there was a parliament in Westminster, which zealously guards its autonomy and privileges to this day.
    This is our subject: a secret state within a state, with deleterious effects on democracy, politics and economics in London, the country, and the world, for the City is joint headquarters with Wall Street of global finance capital. In short, 'Secret City' isn't just a film for Londoners - especially in these times of crisis, the role of the City concerns everyone everywhere.
    'Secret City' is a minimal budget film by Michael Chanan and Lee Salter which investigates the history and contemporary role of the City of London Corporation. We tell the story though interviews with politicians, academics, writers, activists and campaigners, counterpointed with unfamiliar archive footage and a musical score by Simon Zagorski-Thomas taken from the nursery rhyme 'Oranges and Lemons'.

    I’m from Yorkshire and I know the city of London is its own completely separate entity to the rest of the U.K. it has its own council, police, systems, laws & is a separate country technically. It’s the financial capital & where the world wide head offices for several secret societies are also based.

      The CoL is no more a separate entity than, say, South Yorkshire, which has its own local authority and its own police force. Also, the financial capital of the UK is, in fact, Tower Hamlets and no longer the CoL.

      Whenever The Queen should happen to travel within the City she is met at the boundary by the Lord Mayor. Symbolizing the City's submission, the Lord Mayor surrenders his sword to The Queen. Demonstrating her respect for the City's Rights, The Queen accepts the sword and gives it back. Now she is able to enter the City.@@Alan_Mac

      @@lynnedinsdale5009 What do you think of Harry and Megan’s declaration of independence, abandonment of the system and now complete condemnation of the system with harry going so far as saying that his father and brother are “trapped”- in the system, that he feels love for them but must take “space“ from them, literally halfway around the world space for the sake of his wife and children because his wife was either going to self-destruct or be murdered. It was shocking. There’s many ideas I have and I can’t say they’re true. some people have said that he really looks nothing like his father, now he does look like his uncle on his mothers side, but he also looks Diana’s horseman. And we both know that they had affairs. Harry is also different in temperament from either his brother or his father who are more similar. He was more of a guy just a dude and he said the only time he was ever happy was when he was with his mates in active duty as a soldier, and when he was with his ex girlfriend or with his current wife in the wilds of Africa and away from the paparazzi etc. and that makes complete sense because it’s the only time he wasn’t on stage wasn’t being controlled wasn’t being scrutinized wasn’t having every step, thought, word parsed and critiqued and living in a snake pit that must’ve felt like he was suffocating just as it did with his own mother who became sick with psychiatric symptoms including bulimia who did see a therapist. And yet when his wife was screaming for help that she literally was afraid she was going to end her life they abandoned her and told her to buck up and get through it unbelievable that is an unhealthy system when was leave right away. I do believe they set her up for failure I do believe the trashy yet essential tabloid journalists who pump out the fairytales every day that is their function, and these fairytales he said they don’t even have to be true, But they do need to sell papers and moreover they do need to draw in the British citizens in the ongoing soap opera that is known as the British monarchy that they also love and cherish despite its functionality and evil, and sometimes they cast these actors into rules and rather not have and you know that the biracial, divorced, actress from America is ripe for the role of the femme fatale.
      And when harry and William experienced the tremendous loss of their mother so suddenly and he was a lot younger and therefore it was worse for him, and then they were paraded in front of everyone at a time and they must’ve felt so vulnerable but they’re forced to do that again more trauma on top of it that may have begun the breaking point with harry. Because he see in his young adulthood he began to act out pretty considerably and that’s when the he went into the service. He was getting in fights publicly, he was photographed
      Partying naked in Las Vegas and he was clearly angry and acting out and that was because of his mother and realizing how messed up the paparazzi are. And then when he saw them doing it to his wife it must’ve just rang a huge alarm bells for him. But you see I think harry pretty quickly decided to marry this woman he met on a blind date in Toronto for the very qualities that caused the press and his family to rejectAnd demonize her. Not that I don’t think he loves her I think he does and I think he loves her for these qualities but moreover he even admitted on the show that he knew right away her biracial ID would force something to come to a head. I mean it was 80 years ago when his grandfather‘s brother the queens uncle abdicated the throne, “for the woman he loved,“ Wallace Simpson, who was a divorce American, and he was King, and the Prime Minister plainly told him, he needed to choose one or the other, and he chose his wife and abdicated. And I think at some level he didn’t want to be king and he did this to get out of it and he they were essentially driven from England and lived in Paris and well punished and shamed. Because you see when any senior royal member rejects their position they’re rejecting monarchy they’re rejecting the system they’re rejecting the current Royal family and it’s felt very personally, and many can’t understand how they could give it up or would want to but I think harry made it very evident why there is a gilded cage and what looks like the lap of luxury is a snake pit very distant dysfunctional and is full of bigots and pedophiles and back stabbers for what you have a little control. So he met a woman that at some level he knew would absolutely not be excepted not only just by his family but and I think some of his family did did except her, but by the institution as they called it. Their family has a long history of racism, they are fairly recent arrivals from Germany, there were members of the royal family that were raised at Westminster Abby that ended up serving in the Nazi our service they were many Nazi sympathizer‘s and many including the queen’s husband and the man that is described as a father figure to him, Who set up the marriage with Queen Elizabeth Lord Mountbatten was a pedophile his grandfather was a racist he’s had many things publicly that were clearly racist his uncle is a pedophile, and the whole history of the British Empire is based on a belief of superiority and therefore justifying their rape of less powerful countries and belittling and describing Those groups is practically less than human and therefore subject to their occupation and control. So it’s very difficult growing up in the royal family were you represent the country that you’re not committed to those same “occult “values (much is no longer said in public, but that doesn’t mean they’ve changed). Here’s my warm memory of Diana I wrote on my blog in Medium. link.medium.com/dDmL8ovTSfb

    You have 2 city's within one geograghical area. Also the Corporation that controls the inner part of the city of London also does so under it's own rules and laws and in many respects is actually a seperate country and entity within the UK. That one mile within London has ruled controlled and has had more power over this earth than 99.9% of people will ever realize. In fact it has so much power that you can actually smell it when you enter certain buildings within that mile. It has made and broke entire countrys over the years and the finacial markets across the globe do not operate unless the Corporation has their fingers in the pie and those who have dared to deny the Corporation that slice of pie have done so at their peril and even if the UK ended up loosing all of it's money that one mile within London will not. There are also more seceret society's and Mason groups in that one mile than any other place on the planet and the only other place that can be compared to the City of London is Vatican City and even that is nothing compared to the one mile of the Corporation of London.

      Except that these revisionist historians removed the meat from the bones. Charles 1 thought he ruled by Divine Right. The Dutch bankers who moved their H.Q. from Amsterdam, thought otherwise. They funded Oliver Cromwell and his New Model Army to remove him. He rewarded them with a Synagogue, in the City., in 1656. They then replaced him with their 1st. salaried "Monarch" Charles 11, at 1000 guineas/month, plus expense's. In 1666 they cleared the site for their new Capital. When Charles 11 failed to provide them with an acceptable heir, they gained a foothold in Scotland by allowing James 11 to become King of England and Scotland, their representative, with this achieved, George Savile invited William111, with conditions, to be their new "Mascot". and replace James. Under his reign, Charles Montague founded his Bank of England and invented Capitalism, in 1694, and the City was made a Corporation. In 1701 they built their new Synagogue. In 1707 they annexed Scotland, without referendum. !!!

    • @libertybell7145
      @libertybell7145 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The District of Columbia was Incorporated (just like the City of London was incorporated). DC was Incorporated in 1871. DC also has different laws and Self Protective Laws. For example, nobody who works in Congress, White House, or Judicial system (all within the District of Columbia) can be convicted of a crime. DC is a City within a City. DC is within the city of Washington. This is why no Senators or Representatives can be convicted of crimes such as Insider Trading....which they do routinely. The President cannot be convicted of any crimes either.
      Also, the USA is part of the Commonwealth just as is Canada, Australia, and so on. Its just that the City of London has never revealed that. In USA there is paperwork in the National Archives (locked away) identifying the USA as part of the Commonwealth and the President of USA is a SUBJECT OF THE Queen/KING.

    interesting and fairly thorough documentary on the City of London Corporation which seems to be the location of many international Banking Houses. You would be surprised that there is no clear listing of streets that set the limits of the City of London Corporation. I get the general idea that to the north, the Roman Wall is one border, the Thames to the South, Tower Hill is excluded, but what are the eastern and western roads encompassing the City of London. I have a vague sense of St. Paul's Cathedral is within the city in the West, but the specific Eastern and Western streets are rather vague.

    • @historyrepeatscubed726

      It matters little when the Corporation owns ALL the land anyway. When the monarchs of old borrowed more than they could afford while fighting their wars, they were forced to relinquish their authority and lands to the Corporation in lieu of their debts. That's been the situation ever since. So, city boundaries are irrelevant to a great extent, other than for the purposes of security, in which case I think your references are pretty correct.

You are confusing history a little - the city state was the origin of the idea of statehood and nationalism is a 19th century idealism which came about probably due to the reconciliation of crown and parliament, in England, and the revolution in France - before which monarchs owned the lands and the peoples, thus the old states of cities in Europe offered some liberty from Aristocratic rule; it is where the ideal of liberty fruits. The Vatican/ Church owned many cities you would recognise (Cambridge etc). Polis (city) Political, police, politician, polite, poll tax, The city of London is older than the realm called England. The Vatican older than the realm called Italy. Only war could change these arrangements - of course they have independent right to pass their own laws.

She was also contacted by MI5 when we were together about a possible position there, which after assessment she told me she never got, cant confirm that tho, i can confirm the MI5 contact but i can't say for sure she never got the position. That is what led me here because her uncle, her dads brother, is the master of one of the livery companies of the city of London.
    Do you wanna know what the cherry on this sinister cake is? My ex practised witchcraft, im not talking no cosplay stuff, im talking real magick.

      I don’t understand the claims of conspiracy between Masons and Jesuit’s. The major occupation of American Jesuits is universities and private secondary schools.. The Masons were and still are very anti catholic. In the 1500a the Jesuits were founded to be a political power. They did found the nation of Paraguay 450 years ago. The papacy and bishops and the rest of the orders of priests didn’t especially like them. Because the Jesuits sometimes didn’t over the rules of the local bishops. They were banned in some S American countries in the colonial period. Because they went against the governments and official church.
      Whatever they may have been hundreds of years ago. Now they’re just basically university administrators and secondary school teachers. Although, with the extreme decline in priests now days most of the people employed by the Jesuit colleges and schools aren’t priests or even Catholics
      I know a few people who are Masons. Including an uncle. Extremely anti catholic like Henry 8 and Thomas Cromwell John Knox and John Calvin. Shocking in these days Worse than the . Old communists.
      So I don’t believe these theories about the collaboration between the Masons and a declining small order of catholic priests whose only importance is running universities and secondary schools.
      My uncle the Mason and the others I’ve known were very normal ordinary people. There’s a saying in America. “ Join the Masons and you’ll never be out of a job and always be able to get a bank loan.

    Even Wall St is subservient to the City of London as the US was ( or still is) a colony of Britain. Many of the old Empire rules have never been repealed so London still secretly influences huge swathes of the world .

    • @kamanashiskar9203
      @kamanashiskar9203 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      First of all, in the UK-US relationship, no one is someone's colony. Also, yes, the City of London does have A LOT of connections with Wall Street. In fact, the Fat Cats of Wall Street hide their vast fortune there. So does everyone who can afford tax havens hide their money there or it's MASSIVE tax haven empire.

    • @libertybell7145
      @libertybell7145 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct. The USA CONTINUES TO BE A COLONY OF ENGLAND. This is a fact. The president of the USA is a SUBJECT OF THE QUEEN/KING.
      Why do you think,. for example, Biden dropped what he was doing and immediately went to see the Q. LIKEWISE, TRUMP. And Mr T and his family were photographed in an area RESERVED ONLY for the "royal" family.
      And who do you think "Q" was who the ignorant in USA were saying would save us from the shadow government?

    i wish they would put the maps up in sequence and hold them a bit longer. it seems to me there is a series of odd lacunas...sort of non sequiturs..landmarks of medieval london are nowhere else remarked....and the roads of the city arent roman. somehow various features seem to move. roman cities were not higgledy piggledy like that...the roman fort was not that size ..and there must have been another body of legionaries based towards the north..theres no ampitheatre wheres the tribunes house and the local forum? the roads right from the start are not roman. the wall shown in one map is mysteriously absent along one entire length...but theres no report anywhere that anyone took them down? that missing stretch would have been a main gate...and then still later maps suddenly got gardens an orchards where were the huddles before...something isnt right.
