Update on my previous comment ,1 month ago when I watched your video over and over ,pausing and rewinding for a couple of hours,,, and then I was greatful for your info , with this new knowledge I was excited to start sowing stuff....unfortunately I couldn't even get past step 3 ,, and I gave up and threw the dam thing in the cupboard, . I've kept the box so thinking of giving to my sister as a 50th birthday present😉😉

Mine came threaded and worked but after that sample patch I couldn't figure out how to get it to work again
Mine too! Now every time i try to use it, it skips stitching so much it's impossible to use. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong 😅
I thought it was a simple sewing machine,, didn't realise I,d need a university degree in sowing .

You guys rock! I just opened mine that came in the mail from Amazon with over 3k ratings (wtf?!) and I had the same exact problem so I went searching on TH-cam and found this video. It explains it all and it looks like I'll be returning mine, as well. Back to the regular sized sewing machine!

How do I take off the bobbin to switch thread? . You just took it off and didn't say HOW??

I know I'm late, but I just got one of these at a garage sale, but just like a sewing machine you have to turn the round know that makes the needle go up and down manually just to get that first stitch to catch at the bottom. Then, start sewing while holding the fabric at the same time. I'm sure you git it by now anyways lol
I tried this and it kind of works but the sticking don't stay in the fabric. Only a small part did then it came out for no reason
@Raccish yes, that keeps happening to me, too. A friend told me this machine is not for mending but only for making stitch designs, if that makes sense, because it doesn't have a bottom bobbin.

You have to make a knot when you finish the line you have sewed. It takes practice but you can make curtains; hem trousers,skirts etc; you can make alterations e.g taking things in. And yes you need to hand roll needle down to make first stitch 😊

I can see the issue with that machine, that isn't the right screw for the needle holder. I'm guessing someone over-tightened the original and stripped out the threads (no pun intended) so they replaced it with a slightly thicker screw and it's chewed out any threads left. The original screw that holds the needle is designed to be turned with just your hand. it had finger ridges. it does have a slot in it for a small flathead as well but you don't need to/shouldn't crank it that hard to make it secure. probably how the original owner stripped it out.
That was disappointing at the end

I hate it. Too much of this and that. My battery case was stuck. Almost broke it to get it open. I dont see where the stitches are very sturdy.
