@@Terisa-s6n @jasonclark8556 @martabaryczka9061 I just went through a similar situation trying to sew the edges of a couple pillows my son had torn open and which were spewing stuffing constantly. * For one, make sure your material isn't so thick that the needle can't clear it's height entirely and completely. * For two, make sure nothing is too tight. The 2 plates should be relatively loose, your thread should spin freely on the bobbin, you should be able to pull the three front past the needle with relative ease. * For three, if you're using a Singer Handy Stitch, and don't have a hook under the top like this model, there are two things to note. 1, setup is relatively the same, just skip the hook under the top and go right from behind the needle to the front. 2, fabric still pulls from right to left, the clang stitch is still what is used, but it seems to unravel from the end of the stitch, not the beginning of the stitch, so be very careful and make sure to hold the stitch near the end when you're done and press the button to pull the machine away from the fabric so that you're (now with the thread hooked below the clamp, there now being tension post-clamp - causing it to unravel rather than yield more thread) not unraveling the stitching from the end of the stitch trying to pull the machine away.

@@pascalgodhasdonegreat8300 Hi, I bought mine from Amazon. Received it today and felt clueless, so I'm hoping this great tutorial will unscramble my brain! x
Something so silly and yet I was having such a hard time with it so from Brooklyn, New York I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to make this video because I am not going to throw away certain things that needs stitching and I am not going to pay when I can do it myself.. it’s not about being cheap. There’s nothing wrong with learning new things every day again thank you. Bless your heart.
You're an excellent teacher with lots of patience. Forever grateful because I couldn't see the print that was so very tiny in the instruction booklet that came with the machine! Thank you
Well the instructions didn't even tell you that you need to tie off the ends. That was where it had me all baffled as to why it didn't have a bottom bobber like the big machines.
If you have a camera on your phone you can either just zoom in and read it if its something short or take a picture and zoom in and read it at your leisure. I am legally blind and for several years I carried a big bulky reader it was about the size of a game gear until I forgot it on the charger at home one day and didn't want to have to bother any1 to bring it to me so I tried using my cell phone and it worked great! Thats a tip for you.
You're a life saver🙏🏻 I got gifted this some time ago and never really thought about using it, but lately I've been wanting to sew my own skirt from a pair of jeans I don't wear anymore and this video really helped me. Thank you so much.
I have just found a Creative Place brand of hand held sewing machine at my local op shop for $10, with instructions and extra bits! This a fabulous video! No um and ah-ing, straight to the stitch. Thankyou so much! ✂️📍🧵🪡🇭🇲💖
As a completely clueless guy who literally spent hours trying to figure this machine out and ultimately decided to wing it and hope something would stitch (excuse the pun), thank you so much for this video. I've been doing it completely wrong the first time and the next time I had to use the thing, I couldn't remember what I did the first time and then I found your video with a search for "handheld sewing machine tutorial" and after watching it I felt like what I imagine cavemen would have felt when they finally figured out how to light a fire. I love the way you explain it all so clearly and effortlessly that even a 5 year old would get it. Your video was the complete opposite of the written instructions that came with the thing in terms of usefulness and I got the job done in less than 5 minutes after watching it. Subscribed to your channel even though I don't think I'll be sewing much at all. Thank you!
I have owned this machine for several years now , not knowing how to use it. Your video was absolutely excellent, and guided me perfectly ,allowing myself to finally use this little machine that i have wanted to own and work for ages now. Home DIY here I come!!!!🎉😊
Thank you very much. This is very helpful. I had bought my machine for almost 2 years and didn't figured out how to use this. I have a big machine too, but I sucked at sewing. This is much easier and doesn't take up much space 😊❤️ Now I just have to learn how to sew a straight line 😃
I thought this was so neat when I bought it! However, I haven’t used it once! I opened it, looked at it, and then had that thought of, “I’ll figure this out later.” Later has now been YEARS! Everything about this video is perfect! You need to get a big “check” in the mail for teaching everyone how to use this thing! Thank you so much! Blessings 🙏😇

I really want to say thank you for this video but please what can I do when it's not working at all, it worked for a little while and stop, I guess it's connection inside that has to do with the power button, not the battery anyway, can it be repaired, it's actually my second machine. The other one, worked for awhile and stop sewing, it will be working but not really sewing, it's new and I only used it once for a small stitch. What can I do to get it to work again. Thanks.

Thanks for the tutorial on how to work the handheld sewing machine. Those instructions are so small and hard to follow the diagram, but with your guide I can go right with you and assemble it and use it. Thanks again very helpful.
Great video. I’m a middle-aged dude trying to save money from buying too many clothes that I’ve torn. Bought this interesting little machine from Temu. Following your video and practicing, my confidence in sewing with this has grown. I’ve been sewing by hand since I was a teen to help my mother out from time to time. She was an expert on her Singers. I’ve always shied away from machines until now… figured it’s time to do more. Thank you for doing this. :-)
Hello. My Handy Stitch came in the mail yesterday...yaaaay! I tried it out and everything seems to be in good working order. This is my first ever sewing machine, I am so excited to learn using it to make personal face masks. Hopefully, my endeavor will pay off in the long run as I get more proficient with using it. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
This is so helpful. I just bought one for my hobby and this is making it less scary. And I could listen to your voice all day long. Thank you for this excellent video!
WOW, what a great instructor and sweet accent:) Always wondered how to use one of those, as well as the tiny machines. Keep up the great work sharing your skill and talent. From Florida, USA
Thank you thank you!!! I've been struggling I had no clue the chain stitch woukd hold uf I knotted it at end, all my stitches would just come undone, and then my sister bought one and wanted to throw at the wall now I get it!!! Don't see it gor more than a lil mending job, but better than hand sewing with psoriatic arthritis!!! Lol
I've had a hand held sitting in my closet collecting dust for YEARS. This was so straight forward and easy to follow. I'm excited to FINALLY give it a proper go! Fingers crossed it'll save me hours from actual hand sewing.
thank you for this! My regular machine needs servicing, and I had been looking at these small ones on Amazon! I was curious, but afraid that I'd end up with something that I wouldn't be happy with. I truly appreciate this! So helpful, especially now! I hope you and yours are well!
You're welcome 😀. I was very skeptical about using this handheld sewing machine. Once I played around with it and worked out how to stop the stitches unraveling straight away I reckon it's not so bad after all!
The same with me! I was reluctant on purchasing one of these but didn't have the means to buy an entirely new Singer since mines needs service...This was helpful! So thankful
Thanks! I've never been much of a sewer and started sewing masks and loved it so I started buying all kinds of stuff for sewing then my mom surprised me and sent this to me. Like I said I know nothing about sewing machines so this was very helpful!!! Thanks so much. You may hear back from me if I run into a problem.
OMG! Thank you sooo much. I got the same machine from Amazon and the instructions are impossible to understand. They don't even mention the hook above the needle when threading. You are a life saver! ❤
Brilliant tutorial. I bought the same machine almost a year ago but never learnt to use it efficiently (honestly, the operating manual came with it in a small piece of paper is not of much help!). Now, after seeing your video I am gaining confidence. Thank you!!
Absolutely brilliant video! I just used this machine for the first time with the tutorial. Easy and straightforward directions. You are TH-cam royalty!!
Wonderful video ! Perfectly explained, you saved my day and the machine itself. I was getting very annoyed with different aspects (how to finish the seam without getting the whole thing unravelled, how to thread the machine, hold it, etc), thanks to you I managed to sew my curtains for the winter and am making quick progress. Brilliant job, keep up the great videos !
Pls, I need help. Mine is just perforating my fabric even though I followed your instructions. Instead of the thread to show on my fabric while sewing, it's left with needle perforations.
Yes, ma’am I learned something from you today 👏🏾. Clearly, reading is fundamental but for people like myself that learn by observation. I appreciate you making this video.
Same. I’m not a professional, but definitely seasoned at using multiple Singer sewing machines over the years (since I was like 7-8 years old), yet this tiny machine is STILL not working for me! I can’t help but wonder how is it sewing if there isn’t a bobbin inside of the machine to load?? 🤔 🧐 Anyway, if this machine actually does work, then I really must have a lemon. Will order a replacement in hopes mine is just a dud. 🤦🏻♀️
I'm strongly going to guess that your tension is too low It needs to be like as high as it can go on anything because the thing that holds the spool has literally zero tension so you just need to have it as high as it can possibly be on the little wheel on the arm that moves. I'm actually sort of surprised by how well this works although I would never use this to like make clothes but for like simple things where I can just glue the thread at the end with like a little dot of super glue it's been pretty decent.
@@praeciouskelly2594The solution is to throw this handheld machine in the garbage. I've had two of them and never could get them tensioned properly. I acquired a machine like the one she showed at the end of the video and it works really well.

Simple straightforward tutorial. So easy to follow with great tips. For me, this video can never get old!
Watched your video on how to use this machine. Couldn't hurt to watch this one also. Thank you for taking the time to help us who have bought this machine.
Ever since I was a kid, I really thought sewing machines are complicated to use. Now I just bought one of these today and this video really made it easier for me to use this thing. Thank you for helping me understand how it works 🥰
Hello, please where did you buy it from. I want to buy one myself.
This is by far the best tutorial for this machine. Simple, easy to understand and follow! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
You're an excellent teacher with lots of patience. Forever grateful because I couldn't see the print that was so very tiny in the instruction booklet that came with the machine! Thank you
My problem as well .
Smart!
I had exactly the same issue
You're a life saver🙏🏻 I got gifted this some time ago and never really thought about using it, but lately I've been wanting to sew my own skirt from a pair of jeans I don't wear anymore and this video really helped me. Thank you so much.
Thanks, no instructions in my machine and I had not seen the hook under the arm. Great video for someone like me
Honestly one of the best tutorial videos I've ever seen on TH-cam... I wish you were my organic chemistry teacher
I have just found a Creative Place brand of hand held sewing machine at my local op shop for $10, with instructions and extra bits! This a fabulous video! No um and ah-ing, straight to the stitch. Thankyou so much! ✂️📍🧵🪡🇭🇲💖
The most relaxing aussie voice I've ever heard❤️
Thanks!

Thank you!
This video is a god send ❤!The step by step tutorial is so thorough, there are no shortcuts and nothing has been left out!Wonderful job!
I have owned this machine for several years now , not knowing how to use it. Your video was absolutely excellent, and guided me perfectly ,allowing myself to finally use this little machine that i have wanted to own and work for ages now. Home DIY here I come!!!!🎉😊
Sounds exactly like me. I could not figure it out. Heck I never even knew there was a place you had to hook the thread to under the top part lol
Thank you very much. This is very helpful. I had bought my machine for almost 2 years and didn't figured out how to use this.
I have a big machine too, but I sucked at sewing.
This is much easier and doesn't take up much space 😊❤️
Now I just have to learn how to sew a straight line 😃
I thought this was so neat when I bought it! However, I haven’t used it once! I opened it, looked at it, and then had that thought of, “I’ll figure this out later.” Later has now been YEARS!
Everything about this video is perfect!
You need to get a big “check” in the mail for teaching everyone how to use this thing!
Thank you so much!
Blessings 🙏😇
Thank you! I thought my sewing machine was broken since, every time I'd reach the end, the thread would unstitch. This is a really good tutorial!!!
Glad I could help! I thought that securing the stitch at the end is very important when using this handheld sewing machine 👌🏼
@@EasySewing4Beginners literally the only reason I looked online for a video like this, I found the rest easy to do myself but couldn't figure out how to finish the stitch. Thank you so much for making this video!
@@ethanod9958 you’re very welcome 😊
Thank you! I did a test run tonight and couldn't figure out why the stich unraveled. I have to hem pants tomorrow night for my son's orchestra concert Tuesday so now I am ready! Thanks
You made this so easy to understand and I appreciate that so much. The manual was so difficult. Thank you for this tutorial😊
Amazing demonstration, thanks for sharing this 🙏🏽💗
I got so excited when I finally figured out how to tie the ends. omg thank you!
You’re welcome! That’s such an important step with this handheld sewing machine 😊
Me too! I was like "Aaaaaahhhhhhhh"!!
Me too!!
I want to say Thank's,I was having a hard time trying to get the Handy Stitch to work ,I watch your video and i am sewing like crazy!!!
Thanks.
Thank you very much, I'm a single dad. Have been trying to do this by hand the best I can whenever I can just bought one of these Trying to use it as an inexpensive soaring machine, thank you
I can’t wait to start sewing soon!I am getting my handheld sewing machine today and this is honestly really helpful!
Just bought a sunbeam which is the exact same model as yours. You explained everything clearly. Thank you!!! 1 million likes.
Great!
Just got one of these and instruction writing too small for me to read, watched this and I now know how to use this confidently. Thank you
Thank you! I was trying to fix the hem on my blue jeans as was about to throw this thing out when I found your video. Not easy for a 56 year old guy but I finally got it!
Great stuff 🙌🏻
I couldnt saw by this machine plz help

Don't believe you.
Same. No idea 💡 then I watched the video. Many thanks!
I just bought this sewing machine from amazon, your demonstration in this clip is of great help , thank you
Thank you so much dear, you gave us very clear instructions.😍😍😍
When I opened the package, I tried to follow the instructions in the paper.
But I just didn't understand.
So I browsed in TH-cam.
Thanks God I found your video, it really saved my day ❤❤❤🤗🤗🤗
Brilliant tutorial! Ive been putting off using this for much because I was costantly having issues. Your clear tutorial just resolved every issue I was having. Thank you!!
Thanks for the tutorial on how to work the handheld sewing machine. Those instructions are so small and hard to follow the diagram, but with your guide I can go right with you and assemble it and use it. Thanks again very helpful.
Which battery use in this product
@@chandanachandu4455 mine say 4 AA batteries
Great video. I’m a middle-aged dude trying to save money from buying too many clothes that I’ve torn. Bought this interesting little machine from Temu. Following your video and practicing, my confidence in sewing with this has grown. I’ve been sewing by hand since I was a teen to help my mother out from time to time. She was an expert on her Singers. I’ve always shied away from machines until now… figured it’s time to do more. Thank you for doing this. :-)
Superb tutorial.... Explained every bit of it so that even a person who haven't threaded a needle before can understand.... 👍👍
Awesome! All the best with your sewing adventures 🤗
Thank you very much for your kind comments!
Please can it sew any type of fabric
I am so grateful for this video! Thank you so much for the tutorial! I wouldn’t of figured it out otherwise!🥰❤️
So thankful
This is a very good tutorial, i've never used one or heard of it, and this easily taught me how to use it! Thank you a lot for this easy tutorial.
I just received one of these machines. Was just about to give up when BOOM 💥 I google and I'm glad I did. Thank you so much.
This makes so much sense why my stitching was getting undone
Thanks for watching. All the best with your seeing adventures. It’s such a fun hobby 🤗
Mandy, was it hard to make mask with this machine? I want to start making them but I am a novice when it comes to sewing.
did it work for your masks?
OMG! Thank you sooo much. I got the same machine from Amazon and the instructions are impossible to understand. They don't even mention the hook above the needle when threading. You are a life saver! ❤
Thank you so much for these very clear instructions! Didn’t have a magnifying glass to read the instructions in the box!
Well made tutorial and well explained. You made this machine look easy to use. Now it's time for me to try what I've learned.
Years old video and still relevant!! Thank you so much!!
Super helpful! You answered all my questions before I could even think of them. Thanks so much!
Thank u so much, u don't know how much this means to me. Now i can follow my dreams🥰🥰
Brilliant tutorial. I bought the same machine almost a year ago but never learnt to use it efficiently (honestly, the operating manual came with it in a small piece of paper is not of much help!). Now, after seeing your video I am gaining confidence. Thank you!!
this was so helpful! i was given one for my birthday and couldn't figure out how to use it.
Awesome! Glad I could help 😁
I had the unstitching problem 🤦🏻♀️ thank you 😊
Glad I could help. It took me a bit to work out, but is was very frustrating before that.
Oh well done 🙌🏻
Pls, I need help. Mine is just perforating my fabric even though I followed your instructions. Instead of the thread to show on my fabric while sewing, it's left with needle perforations.
Same with me...
Thank you so much , I was struggling with this machine until I found this amazing video 🤩
Awesome! Thanks for your kind words 🤗
Yes, ma’am I learned something from you today 👏🏾. Clearly, reading is fundamental but for people like myself that learn by observation. I appreciate you making this video.
Thank you so much for this. It's soooo helpful! 😍 Finally I can use my mom's handy sewing machine that's been stocked for how many years ❤
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR DOING THIS! THIS IS SO INCREDIBLY HELPFUL!
You are a marvelous teacher! I could understand every step of the way. Thank you so much.
My mom struggled with this machine, it was getting dusty after she put it away. Because of this video I'll be a knight in shining armor
I did everything, but the stitch is not happening on the cloth
Maybe the needle is bad
Have you gotten a solution.... same thing is happening for me
I'm strongly going to guess that your tension is too low It needs to be like as high as it can go on anything because the thing that holds the spool has literally zero tension so you just need to have it as high as it can possibly be on the little wheel on the arm that moves.
This is my first machine attempt at sewing. I have so many pants to hem! I'm so glad I found your video! I'm wasting a lot of thread learning how to use this thing, but without your video, my first attempt was a disaster! Thank you!
You helped me so much, thank you a lot!

Thank you so much for this video!!! I just bought this & noticed it doesn't have any directions. You are a lifesaver!!!
I have a problem with this machine. Why I was following the correct steps but the spin was not sew to the textile? Thank you forward for your kind answer.
When I’m done my thread gets stuck in the whole area under the needle is that common?
I haven’t had that problem before. Sorry!
I had that kind of problem. You just need to adjust the rotary wheel upwards and then start the machine 🤗
I was contemplating buying one but thought probably best I watch a video first. Good with my hands, terrible with reading instructions & very little patience with gadgets. So glad I came across your video, you certainly explained this so clearly, I'll be ordering one! Thank you for taking the time to do that.
What happens to my machine if it's skipping stitches and looping every two, three or four centimeters? that I have to do?
