    Out of all the videos that pop up when I get home, it makes me the happiest when it's one of yours. Got spoiled when you were doing a ton of videos and now I appreciate the weekend videos even more. Hell, I don't even own a Grendel or a creedmore but I still watch them just the same.

      Same here I actually do own a Grendel but there's several calibers he loads that I do not own but I still watch them. like the 300 wm don't have one 308 don't have one, 22 nosler don't have one, and I recently just built an ar10 creedmoor but I was watching his creedmoor videos before I had it and I still haven't started reloading for the creedmoor but I know where to go for info when I get ready. My favorite by far are these Grendel vids and the buttkicking 223. The mark262 series is pretty good too.. I enjoy them all what am I talking about. hell this is the 3rd time watching this video already

    Johnny, I have 12.5" grendel and reload for it and it seems to only like the 120gr eld-m bullet. I'm glad to see someone else tried this bullet and had stellar results! Using my hornady comparator I had to seat my bullets a bit deeper, but my best group to date is just over 1/4 moa! And on top of it I dropped a 170" class buck this last season at 200 yards with one shot using this bullet. My new hunting round hands down!

    FYI: Nosler advertises their boxes of brass as being weight-matched within +/- 1/2 grain. And that was the circumstance when I ordered 3 boxes of 6.5 Swede, 1 '06 and 1 .270 a couple of years ago--took a 10 piece sample from each box of 50, all less than 1 grain spread for each sample.
    Delivered to my home they were under $65 per box.

    Nice start to 1 hole groups. Take both of those last groups, sink the bullets .001 deeper, then .002, then .003 , up to .006. Johnny, take both powders up to 30 , 30.5 and 30.6 grains. I think they will serve you well. Keep in mind, its cold. Those bullets during hot weather ( 80 - 100 degrees) will hit 3 inches high and be over pressure.

    Ive been shooting the Hornady 123gr ELD Match with 26.7 grs of N133 getting an AVG. 2532 fps. I've got a 20 in Faxon barrel too .It has a ToolCraft BCG with DLC Coating .on a Rare Breed Spartan Upper & Lower. a Adjustable Gas Block from Superlative Arms . At 100 yards they are all in the same hole pretty much...And going farther Im pleased with accuracy and speed.At 600 yards theyt are all inside of about a 50 cent piece circle.The ES is 12 and SD 6.5..Not the best numbers but I dont care.Its shooting great with great speed. All using Hornady brass. great video.Thanks
    I also have a 6mm ARC with a Faxon and another with a Shilen.. The Shilen Ratchett barrel does shoot a little better than the other 2 Faxon.Not much but a little,
    You have some of the best videos..Thanx
    Update..UPDATE UPDATE..I pushed them a little faster with some older brass and I blew 2 primers with Vihta Vuori N133 @ 27.1 grains. Not 100% sure if it was all high pressure because I saw not pressure signs at 26.9grs of N133 and then bam..Blew 2 Primers.. I was using Remington BR 7 1/2 Primers.I had not and still have not had any more issues.I may contribute the blown primers to me picking up some Range Brass .Maybe the primer pockets were a bit worn out.I will be checking primer holes more carefully from now on.I just don t know. for sure what did it.

    One way to compare the Hornady brass to the Lapua that might give an indication of difference in quality (or lack thereof) would be to check the case capacity across all (or at least 15-20+) of each brand now that they are fire formed, and then look at the SD/ES there... just an idea that might be interesting for others to see as well. Tedious, but perhaps informative. Thanks for all your great content, keep up the great work!!

    If I remember you said the n133 max was 25.0 by the book. With no pressure signs and excellent SD numbers did you consider a higher load? Maybe as much as 26.0? It appeared the case capacity is there. Some of your other videos where you push the numbers on 140 grain bullets seams to show you have the experience and wisdom to know when too much is too much. Just curious if you ruled out higher n133 charges based on that experience and need for safety. Sorry for the rookie question. Love the videos. I always learn something new. Keep up the good work.

    Beening you showed no pressure signs at all with your top charge weight, do you think and/or you might be able to go up to 26gr with N133 and maybe hit 2350-2400 and with the amazing consistency of N133 that would be a amazing load.

    Johnny, I had the same problem with my Hornady hand primer, the small primers will flip over in the tray. I contacted Hornady, they asked if the primer had a “1” stamped in the side, it did not so they replaced it. The replacement had the same problem. With large primers they would slide cockeyed in the channel from the tray into the handheld portion of the primer and jam. I purchased the Lyman E-Zee primer - I have not used it a lot yet, but initial impression is that it is a much better primer tool. The E-Zee primer has a feeling of quality and is sturdy. Additionally, it provides me a better tactile feedback when setting primers. However, should you have a Hornady primer tool that work properly, it is better suited someone with a small hand.

    Thankfully it was not a squib. I always give my reloads a quick shake, but I'm rarely pushing case capacity so I can tell if something is wildly amiss.

    How about a quick video on chronograph brands you have used and your thoughts since you have lab radar now? I would like an affordable decent one if that exists.

      The Caldwell is fairly affordable. he did a test with it and the magneto speed and they seemed to track well but had slightly different numbers.

      I have the chrony with printer, is not user friendly, my SD with 6.5CM get stuck at 0.5fts. When your powder is to the slow side,the muzleblast will give errors. So you have to put it further away. Is still a eye catcher at the range.1 hours to put up and down LOL. see pictures. sites.google.com/view/reload-cheap-subsonic/homepage
      Readings are so scary similar some times...with good powder. With bad powder...you will also know.(important for me)

    That barrel has been shooting some great groups lately! I wonder if round count/ break in has anything to do with it? I’d be curious to see you revisit some old powder and bullet combos to see if you get the same results....better/worse? It would interesting!

    I have increased my loads with the N133 and shooting 200 & 300 yards.I think I saw a tiny bit of shine using 27 Grains. I have the pretty much same barrel as you but without the fluke, & silencer.

    Johnny . . . just curious why you don't use a catch bag (diaper)?
    Sure do keep you from gathering the brass up out of the mud
    and you don't have to bend over either. Big plus when your knees
    are giving you trouble like mine do.

    Any hornady headspace measurement data from new to once fired? Or water capacity from new to once fired? Curious on how the capacity difference and case stretch is in the lapua versus other manufactures. Also, I have been having excellent results with benchmark all the way up to the 130gr rdf.

    Johnny, I would like to see a video on concentricity and its effects on accuracy. Also, someone else
    says when loading from a magazine, the concentricity is affected. I am going to test also, but your
    testing is always much better than me. I just got a hornady concentricity tool, but have not shot any
    processed cartidges. So the question is: does concentricity matter? By the way, I found one cartridge that was .010 out and was unable to straighten. Is this a flyer?
    thanks, Lynn

    There are some powder/bullet combos that have an inverse relationship between accuracy and SD.

      Hi professor,question. 40 and 41 gr gives 0.3SD and 0.7" groups. 42gr gives 5to10SD and .3" groups. what must i shoot?

    • @RonzRocketz
      @RonzRocketz 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      IMHO, anything under 15fps SD is pretty good so stick with 42.

    I'm planning to start loading Grendel soon, Hornady brass, probably Hornady and Speer projectiles, CFE223 and Varget to start. Hornady or Lee dies.

    • @faithandfarmingtennessee872
      @faithandfarmingtennessee872 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have both those die sets and I prefer the Hornady. I really like the bullet guiding collar on their seating dies. CFE223 is a good powder to get you started for sure. I've got plenty of Varget on hand, but I've never tried it in the grendel. Just picked up some Power Pro 2000-AR to play with recently as well.

    • @ksbaliwag
      @ksbaliwag 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@faithandfarmingtennessee872 - i tried varget in the grendel and found really low velocities. i picked a middle charge, and out of an 18in barrel it only went about 2100fps. wasnt the best groups either, but not overly terrible. probably about an inch at 100yds, and using a 3x9 leupold at the time. it was just a trial and i dont believe i built any more using varget since then

    • @gunfunandstuff9226
