    I'd summarize my thoughts on this by saying the collection was basically what Pharrell would wear in a week, and if you don't like his style, then you aren't going to like this collection. I don't see it as something that really stands out in LV menswear. The colors and patterns were bold and fun, but the garments weren't anything to write about, especially given how they were styled. I'm hoping his next collection focuses more on the execution, tailoring, craftsmanship, and styling.

    I really enjoyed your sharing your thoughts. I was looking for some critique of it and voila. Nice production of the video. I didnt care too much for the collection. I found it too vanilla for my taste which is just that - my taste. Keep up the good work. Congrats on your first review. I enjoyed and appreciate it!

    Great video! The modern day creative director no longer needs a background in the foundations of fashion or construction. As you can see, this more about insight, influence, marketing and understanding the pulse of the consumer/ customer. I watched the show and it delivered on all levels. Would I purchase an item? Yes. Please note, Pharrell does have is own clothing line called Billionaire Boys club.

    Thoroughly enjoyed your analysis. I watched show twice. Second time w/o the music. Pharrell giving us wearable streetwear swagger, there's a little punk edge, football and modern business look. Though I'm not a fan of all the pixelated graphics, it still was fun. Most handbags were special and little ole me cannot afford one , I'm sad.

    As an artist who does several things, each creation influences the other. I really like PW. I can see why he chose the fabrics that he did, but sadly, they were boring.

    Mr, Williams has earned this position. He has in fact been collaborating and designing for years. If you are a creative person, you will be able to create. One does not need to complete a school to prove that. There are many artists that cross over into either the movie music or fashion industries . He has at least 20 years of designing. You may not like him, but he is talented.

    U gave a lot of interesting insight and made me reevaluate the entire collection, which I didn't like at first. I tought the silhouettes looked like every and any other menswear collection rn mixed together (Dior, Gucci, Kenzo, Prada...). But after listening to your video I realized that you're right, it's better to play it safe at first, moreover the damouflage prints are definetly going to leave a huge impact on the LV by Pharrell zeitgeist, as u stated (even though I still think some of the damouflage looks are really ugly). You're definetly the most insightful review on this collection as of now. U got a new subscriber 😊

    I don't like Monograms or Logo all over the clothes. That's why I don't like LV, Gucci. Dior and Fendi etc. Nowadays many "designers" use too much logo and monograms on clothing and very streetwear style!

    @theAcer295 What is a woke afro show? 😆 although I'll prefer a more classic look and a real stylist, LVMH is looking to attract a younger consumer. It's not for me and that’s ok.

  • @leeraewi

    I thought it was LV-verse (because I didn't look that closely), as in a "witty" fashion take on the idea of the metaverse... I like the message of Lovers much more, but it shows that when the message isn't clear that people will form their own interpretations, often to the detriment of the original idea.

    • @leeraewi
      @leeraewi ปีที่แล้ว

      And I agree, it was a smart first collection. Lots of really recognisable, marketable pieces. This is Louis Vuitton after all and not some avant-garde or high fashion brand. It's all about the product and the signatures, and although I didn't really care for the camouflage, I thought the colourful take on the damier pattern at different scales felt fresh, memorable and thus collectible.

    It is clear LV is furthering themselves from what they once represented. They are now more inclined into this pop side of fashion. I guess revenue comes ahead of authenticity, style and elegance.The collection wasn’t the best all got reduced to a woke Afro show the pieces aren’t impressive sorry someone has to said it.

    'The bridge represents a bridge from Virginia to Paris'...this is the joke of LV now. Write a nonsensical story after you make some merch, stick the story on to it for no reason, because let's be real LV just needs to keep the cash machines counting. Yet no fashion professional can utter a peep because we will all need someone from the monolith that is LVMH. Sorry, the collection was weak, tacky, and derivative. Who can honestly say Pharrell looked good in that ill fitting suit that he kept pulling at like some ill fitting strapless gown. The sheer vulgarity of the clothes which really had no defense for their being in the world other than being in service to Pharrells ego and LVMHs bottom line, makes the whole thing a farce.

    9:40 thank god. It would had been a huge act of hubris of him not to make a shut out for the LV team. Specially in his case.
    The Damouflage gimmick just felt ok it it had been 35 looks. But sis, 74? It seems to me such a waste of fabric for that of a simple graphic statement. And I can’t just simply look away from the fact that this whole Pharrel thing is just a billionaire safe move from LVMH to keep them at the top of the money fashion pyramid.
    That’s why Alessandro is no longer in Gucci
