Thanks for posting your video, I grew up with Johnson reels since the early 70s . I have caught everything on them you can imagine. Northern Pikes, Walleye, Catfish, and Panfish. I'm from Pennsylvania, and every year we went to Canada 🇨🇦 for vacation, one soild week of nothing but fishing. Keep up the good work!!!
I have a few, my favourite is a Silstar EC5120 its is a pretty light weight reel, but so smooth.... i actually caught me personal best bass on a spincast... i still have the old pistol grip rod in the graratge, 40 years later...
I think you are the first and only person that I've heard to describe the Zebco Omega Pro as cheap.... That thing has a fantastic build quality... Open that sucker up and you'll see brass gear drive , ceramic pick up pins.. brass pinions, metal construction everywhere.... To me it just sounds like you have a Zebco contrarian mindset.... I means Zebcos are absolute legendary in the Spincast world.. hell they invented it.... The 33. Ole reliables.... And the Omega and the Bullet are top of the line..... But i guess there are always people who will hate what other people like... To each his own i guess... But to call the Omega cheap is just incorrect...
@@Boswd you are absolutely right I bought that reel and never gave it a fair chance I never actually used it because I couldn't get it mounted on my old rods I recently bought another one after I figured out how to mount it I have a video about it on my channel I think it's a fantastic reel and it's one of my favorites I've never been a fan of zebcos I had a 202 and a 404 when I was a kid They were just ok I'm glad they are making some high quality spin casters now I do plan on getting a bullet but it's hard to justify the price when I have so many reels already Thanks for your comments
@@NLoutside75 i with you on the 202, started my son out on that and it was fine for a bit but it got Janky after only a few outings..... He's on 33 Spincast combo and has a Daiwa Samurai likes them both .... I have the 33 Black a bit of a step up from the standard 33.. 4 bearings brass pinios nice solid reel.... My buddy bought the Zeb Bullet..... Ohh man, if you ever want to try a Spincast that comes as close as you are going to get to a baitcaster. You have to try it ... Good luck with the channel.
I have been looking for the Diawa but can’t find one. You said they are still making them! if I have to buy a more modern model, what should I me looking for? Are they called by a different model name?
Daiwa still makes the goldcast There are 3 different sizes all the same price I think the newest ones are called a 22 goldcast There are lots of them on eBay and you can get them directly from Daiwa too What country are you in? I'm in Canada and there are many places online that sell them new Thanks for watching
@@NLoutside75 Thanks for the information. I will have a look for a Gc80 and missed out buying an Abu 574 on eBay. I want a couple of reels to use and service. I am based in the UK.
I just serviced dads Abumatic 574, this brings back old memorys from the 80s and the 90s when we climbed up the mountains on fishing trips.
That's awesome
The memories are what is most important

I've had a silstar reel before too
Pistol grip rods is all that I use with spincast reels
I really don't like modern casting rods
Great information, thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

@@Boswd Thank you
I will definitely be getting it at some point
Unfortunately it's at least $150 here in Canada
Happy Fishing!

Gc80 I'd the smallest
Gc100 is medium
Gc120 is the largest
The numbers stand for the recommended line size
8 10 and 12
