Great reel. Button is the weak spot. Broke 2 of these recently
Yes I agree
That a nice detector I like mine I have the q 10
I'm very happy with it Seems like a good brand Thanks for commenting
@NLoutside75 it's a good brand and it does better then the higher end price detectors I have had a few detectors over the years and this q10 hangs with the mindlab Xterra Pro and the simplex can't go bad with the quest brands
My Father died recently and I found one of these in the garage when I was dealing with his estate. Hadn't a clue how to use it. I've restored and got it working after finding your video, so I can keep it as a memento of him. Thank you, as I couldn't have done it without you.
@@mrflores7708 Im sorry for the loss of your dad It's great that you can keep it in his memory You should use it and think of him My dad is passed as well Thanks for watching and take care
Hi. Thanks for this video! I found one of these reels cheap at a yard sale. Everything worked except the drag, so I figured I could fix it. Well, the oscillator plate (the plastic part) was cracked in multiple places. I found that the current model Goldcast III GC 80 uses the same part. (I think it was like $12, plus shipping). In fact, they are much the same reel, except the newer model has a graphite body and an extra ball bearing. There are only maybe three or four parts inside that are different, so you can still get almost all the parts to fix the old model from Daiwa. So, now my reel works great!
@@johngehl3853 you're welcome I'm glad you got it working again Every one of those parts that I've seen have hairline or spiderweb cracks but will be fine as long as they are small They have made those reels for years and most parts should be interchangeable Thanks for watching
Yeah, mine was cracked all the way through in a bunch of places so that the nut that the drag adjustment screw goes into would pop right out-thats why the drag didn't work to begin with.Still, I got a nice old Goldcast for under $20, all together. They go for a lot more than that on eBay, on the rare occasions when they show up (seems not many want to part with these reels), so I can't complain!
I'm glad you got it working They are expensive for sure I think the older all metal ones are the best Hard to find a better spincaster in my opinion They also have a new model out too now
Where did you get that stove stand 😮
What stove stand? I don't understand your question
808 and slingshot btw
also screw these things they suck lol
You do not need 2 lighters and 2 knives. You should be packing a Leatherman on your belt also
Finally a you tube fisherman that uses the same gear as I do. I'm the same way, I see a pistol grip rod and I buy them!! I use the same kind of reels too! Great video! Thank you!
@@Avalon620 you're welcome Glad to hear from someone who appreciates those rods like I do Thanks for commenting
That's a torch 😃
interesting. Thanks!
Beautiful fox and your video friend. I enjoyed watching it.
You are very welcome
they sure must have had BIG pockets back in the 40s
@@railwaystationmaster haha yes I was thinking the same thing
Just started looking at metal detectors, still looking, thanks for the info.
No problem 👍
Hello. I have one and it works great, but I had to shelve it. When the temperature changes, the fuel will leak out of the orifice making a big hazardous mess. I don't have the funnel/cork thing that came with it that goes in the coil. Does the cork you use prevent it from leaking out? I'm wondering if I should go with natural cork, or a rubber one as my hardware sells both. Thank you!
If that little hole isn't plugged off it will leak every time I would definitely try the cork I bought a 10 pack for only a few bucks and haven't had a leak since And with the cork it firs in place in the case perfectly Also make sure the gasket on the fill port isn't hardened I usually screw it in hand tight and loosen a tad Never have leaks
@@NLoutside75 Thank you very much. I'm going to have to try that, it's such a neat little stove. I'm trying to fab a stainless steel flame spreader like Steve Winkelman @doinsngoins I hope I can pull it off!
@@kenneth6731 you're welcome I saw the one he made Looks easy to make
That’s a great machine, however, not to sound insulting, but I have a 2024 sportsman 1000 Hunt edition …that is an absolute beast!! I love it❤
You have an awesome bike Hope you enjoy using it The 450 is more than adequate for my needs Thanks for the comment
On the Yellow stove the brass fitting where the key is stored can be removed for easier filling of alcohol, also the fold out leg on the opposite side can be used as a handle to hold the stove with that opening downward and can help get rid of any remaining fluids or cleaning solvents by swinging this stove and using centrifugal force, similar to swinging a bucket of water with a hole at the bottom
You are completely right I was aware of your points Thanks for the comments
Is there a special way to add the alcohol into that small opening?
Just remove the opening in the tube and the fill hole is adequate
great bike, some people say Polaris has reliability issues but I have a 2005 & 2012 Sportsman 800's and they run like new - just keep up on the maintenance - oil and fluid changes. nice area - beautiful scenery.
Thanks I agree if maintained properly they will last Greetings from Newfoundland Canada
I just got one on ebay for 25 bucks. That knife is old. 60s or 70s. You got one thats collectible too, no blade stamps other than kabar
Thanks for the comments They are great As good as the buck 110 in my opinion
Zepco is great but the rubbery button feels strange. This one seems better designed.
The only zebco I'd compare it to in quality is the omega pro
looks like a very nice blade for fishing.
@@iDoPew I used it a few times to clean trout Works great and blades are cheap
@@NLoutside75 Exactly the fish I had in mind as well 😁💪🏻
@@NLoutside75 I'd guess the flex would even allow for filetting of smaller fish? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
@@iDoPew It's way too small for filleting I just used it for gutting trout and removing backbone
Thank you.

Awesome video! A client of mine just gave me this exact one and the Daiwa spinning cast version too.
@@elthanos879 great They are very nice kits for travel
I just got this in the mail today. Amazon has it on sale for $30 feels very well made. I have the 33 Black which is a nice step up from the standard but this one is step up from that nice reel.
Hope you enjoy it and that's a great price You should consider the omega pro I got one recently and it's awesome
@@lionsfan80 I was in Bass Pro over the weekend and they had all of Zebcos top of the line Spincasters on display and that Omega Pro is very impressive indeed... For Christmas my wife said to pick out one and i can't decide between the Omega Pro, the Delta and the Bullet..
@@Boswd definitely get the omega pro in my opinion The bullet is a faster retrieve but much larger
I think you are the first and only person that I've heard to describe the Zebco Omega Pro as cheap.... That thing has a fantastic build quality... Open that sucker up and you'll see brass gear drive , ceramic pick up pins.. brass pinions, metal construction everywhere.... To me it just sounds like you have a Zebco contrarian mindset.... I means Zebcos are absolute legendary in the Spincast world.. hell they invented it.... The 33. Ole reliables.... And the Omega and the Bullet are top of the line..... But i guess there are always people who will hate what other people like... To each his own i guess... But to call the Omega cheap is just incorrect...
@@Boswd you are absolutely right I bought that reel and never gave it a fair chance I never actually used it because I couldn't get it mounted on my old rods I recently bought another one after I figured out how to mount it I have a video about it on my channel I think it's a fantastic reel and it's one of my favorites I've never been a fan of zebcos I had a 202 and a 404 when I was a kid They were just ok I'm glad they are making some high quality spin casters now I do plan on getting a bullet but it's hard to justify the price when I have so many reels already Thanks for your comments
@@NLoutside75 i with you on the 202, started my son out on that and it was fine for a bit but it got Janky after only a few outings..... He's on 33 Spincast combo and has a Daiwa Samurai likes them both .... I have the 33 Black a bit of a step up from the standard 33.. 4 bearings brass pinios nice solid reel.... My buddy bought the Zeb Bullet..... Ohh man, if you ever want to try a Spincast that comes as close as you are going to get to a baitcaster. You have to try it ... Good luck with the channel.
@@Boswd Thank you I will definitely be getting it at some point Unfortunately it's at least $150 here in Canada Happy Fishing!
Unleaded gas has a shelf life of maybe a couple years. After that, loses its potency. If left in a can for a long time, it will rust inside.
where did you find this my biddy is needing one to complete his collection
@@anadventureoutdoors I got it on eBay This model hasn't been made in years They make a new version I believe
Nice! I have a video on my channel with my grandfather's 99. He kept it in great condition and my dad just uses it around the property untill i visit lol
@@fischersgadgets4936 that's awesome They last a long time if taken care of
Man, nice I have a 2022 Sportsman 450 with power steering, great quad could use a little more power, mine also makes that clunking noise, I think they all do, if you lube the front driveshaft universal joint he helps alot with the noise, you can get a grease gun on the zerk fitting from under the bike, it took me a little bit to locate the fitting !
@@markcollins5026 thanks for the tip I never thought of that It is a nice bike for the money Very comfortable and enough power for my needs Thanks for the comment!
I love my Zebco spin casters, vintage or modern they are my favorites. I have other types of rods and reels, but mostly spin casters.
@@scottgraham1153 that's great Hope you continue to enjoy them!
I love the old pistol grip rods. Have an old 2 piece Zebco of my Dad's. I see a few new ones on Bass Pro/Cabelas but never tried them. I picked up a few pistol grip handles from ebay thinking I'll cannibalize some rods i never use onto the old handles. Thanks for the video
@@blasien1 you are welcome I keep all the handles I can get The few newer ones on the market are usually just foam on the grip and not as good as the older ones
Just ordered it on Amazon for $50. I got the smaller version. It was a hard choice because the new version has some good improvements but I like the look of this one better and you get an extra spool and two handles.
That's great I would rather have the smaller version too I like the look of the older version better than the newer version Hope you enjoy it it's a great reel Thanks for watching
I think that the crank arrangement is, as you speculate, to use the rim as the drag (anti-reverse released) similar to "palming" a fly reel. In addition to folding the crank out of the way, the length of the "lever" is increased when the handle is deployed radially, increasing the cranking power. Not sure how useful that was... I expect this didn't work out as well as the marketing guys thought it might, I have the same vintage Minicast silver version since the 1970's-Exactly the same with the exception of the premium gold colour and the elaborate handle. It works well , including the drag. I could imagine that using only the wheel as the drag might be fun as increasing the drag resistance with a fish on the line, with the silver version, is less than precise in a panic. 😂😀
I think your explanation is right on Seems more of a gimmick than something useful on such a small reel I love the portability of this setup but having to assemble it every time is a bit of a pain Thanks for your comments
I have had one also since 93 and it always works wonderfully, and I have used mine a LOT !!! Never a problem
I'm glad you enjoy yours They are awesome Thanks for watching
Keep up the good Work
Thanks!
Excellent idea!
Thanks!
I just serviced dads Abumatic 574, this brings back old memorys from the 80s and the 90s when we climbed up the mountains on fishing trips.
That's awesome The memories are what is most important Thanks for watching
Im in the process of cleaning the exact same Zebco 33, i was wondering if there was a way to tell the age of them. Being yours is 1982 and mine is identical that somewhat answers my question 😊 ( it's 2024, im just now removing the 12 lb test line I spooled it with in 1993 when i was 14) i always thought it was a great reel!
@@davidhicks2178 Hi Mine says 1982 on the label I'm not sure if others say that too I'm glad you still have yours They are pretty good reels Thanks for commenting
I have some parts for Johnson reels. If you ever any to repair a reel
Thanks
I just picked one of these up at a flea market for $2. Fished with it today. Solid spincast reel.
Yes they are pretty basic and reliable
Nice work! You're spot on about folks not following the lighting procedures. I'm pretty sure that's why Coleman now has only 1 or 2 liquid fuel stoves today. Lawsuits over stupidity. It's unusual and a pleasant surprise to see someone who knows how to light them correctly.
Thanks for your comment I agree it's amazing watching someone using these stoves incorrectly The instructions are there for a reason Some people are just idiots

@@NLoutside75 Thank you kindly, happy fishing!
Can you change the retrieve from right to left?
Hi yes it can be changed from left to right retrieve
@@NLoutside75Thank you. I will be purchasing the goldcast III and a silvercast now.
@@farhenheit628of1200 you're welcome
I have a newer graphite Goldcast with a 5’ 6” St Croix rod with that pistol style grip. It’s really sweet for fun all-around fishing. 🎣
Hi that sounds like an awesome combo Enjoy!
You can buy an extra lid for under $4 at the same time, drill a few small jet holes in it, and have a simmer ring. The stock lid will also simmer at a low level without holes if you don't make it have a tight seal, but it's a bit tricky. Don't touch the lid too quickly afterwards, or you'll drop it like it's hot!
Thanks for your input Sounds like a great idea
Nice reel! I find it surprising so few reels have the levelwind feature.
Yes I guess it's a cost thing Spin cast reels are generally low cost but there are some really high quality ones too
