I healed the goblins and the warg as best I could, set the ground on fire, and I finished him off. He lay there for days in the blazing sun of the Sword Coast. Then I took pity on him and put him in a large chest in a damp cave.

It's amazing how Russian Alena Baranova learned to understand English speech like that. I wonder how long it took her to learn the language. After all, such relaxed conversational speech is quite difficult. You would NEVER be able to communicate like that in Russian.
I don’t know Russian culture so I can’t speak to that, but I am a Frenchman who learned English in America, and American culture is much more spontaneous than French, so I hope it will parallel her experience well enough. Anyway, what I found is that because language tends to reflect culture, English as spoken in the US also allowed to express feelings I never knew I felt because French didn’t express them so they just never really came to the front of my mind. Once I had become used to expressing them in English though, it became a part of how I see the world and how I express myself, and it sort of unlocked a new version of myself. I suspect it’s a bit like that for her too.

I remember when I read Tostoy's "War and Peace", I was annoyed by the fact that I had to skip entire pages written in French)

A very nice show for a beautiful game! BUT! 11:45 Instead of spending thousands of euros to change the game to include non-binary, Larian would have done better to use that money for translations into major foreign languages!

Representation matters, and it's important for everyone to feel seen in the games they love. Also, you may not know of this but Larian Studios is no longer going to be responsible with Baldur's Gate's franchise, The rights for the game now belong to WOTC. They had so much more planned that could've made it but no.. WOTC pretty much denied us that opportunity.. Patch 7 is the last biggest thing Larian was pretty much "allowed" to do. Last two thing that will be added will be cross-play and photo mode which are on the way! But that will pretty much be it.

To be honest, translations into one other language let alone MULTIPLE would’ve cost SOOOO much more money than just a single pronoun add. It’s a shame it is the way it is, but I could never see them having the budget for it

Keiztrat already talked about why a gender neutral option is important to many players, and also it's fun to roleplay. It's just sad to see comments like these being so blatantly dismissive of a pronoun option trying to disguise it as a fund management issue
The two main strong melee fighters of the companions are Lae’zel and Karlach. Lots of people choose between either Lae’zel or Karlach to do the melee fighting for them. So Neil not having Lae’zel in her party assumes he lets Karlach do the melee fighting for him

Agreed. There are much more important ways to spend money. For example, fixing most of the bugs in the game, or adding a fourth act.
