    What is the biggest SCAM lure in your opinion?

    I can honestly say not only did i not buy any of these lures, I've never even heard of them. Of course down here in Florida we don't need any of that stuff. Lures that caught'em 10 years still catch them today ..,.

    Your eyeless hooks are what are called spade end hooks, very popular in UK with match/competition anglers. When tied correctly the line comes away from hook in a straight line with the shank giving a more direct line to the fish/bait.

    the Lunkerhunt dragonfly is a great lure! I get more hookups than a frog. I would recommend it for top-water summer pond fishing. But there is no magic lure that can replace all the lures in your tackle box [ like gimmicky commercials always say] .

  • @DMNbard
    @DMNbard 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Seen all those baits from tackle box on aliexpress, not joking. I even have some. The hook type you showed is very popular in Poland, specially for float fishing

  • @jacobprescott396
    @jacobprescott396 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    European here:
    Those Westin baits are also gimmicks over here. They are maybe good for our canals in the summer but generally you tend to find that other lures work much better for pike. Perch usually will not take anything larger than a small whopper plopper or a small popper style lure. To me jointed surface lures work far better than any other lures for pike.

      That's completely not true. As long as the wind is blowing correctly, the water has the correct displacement value, you tie it on the exact correct brand and weight of line, and your retrieve is an accurate number of centimeters per millisecond the Hangover is nearly the perfect bait! 😏😂

      I've caught some big bass on lunkerhunt garbage. I don't think they make a good product, but I've picked up lures on clearance for a couple bucks, and they do work. But I wouldn't recommend them for the most part.

    • @TAStormChasing
      @TAStormChasing 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've had some good days of catching using their impact frog. The impact spinner bait isn't terrible. Lastly, I've used the hatch spin to catch smallies at the local river. Also, you can cast it a country mile.

      The lunkerhunt "maybug" in black is the hands down best trout and panfish plastic on the market. They outlast zman plastics. Can catch 100 crappies on one no problem.

      A plastic fluke minnow in white, rigged on a plain hook will outproduce most standard lures every day. Add weight or remove weight to get to the desired depth. Fish eat fish 99% of the time.

    one "gimmick" lure i've had success with is the booyah prank. it's a solid popper for a stop and go retrieve, and i've caught quite a few reeling it in like a crankbait after working it like a traditional popper. my only knock on it is you can't walk it like other poppers because of the bill.

  • @todddreher1220
    @todddreher1220 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I've had that booyah frog with that attachment on the tail end going on 3 years and I have not caught one fish on it or had a strike. And I fish Booyah frogs with great success but that one I don't get crap on it. Because I fell on regular Booyah frogs out there after using that one for almost 10 minutes with nothing and then all the sudden gets slammed on the Booyah frog without that spinning attachment on it that churns up the water. So according to you your assessment is that but you need to get faxed with other people too. And believe me I fished in so many different ways that there's no other way to fish it. I probably invented some ways to fish it. The not one single one.

    The enu rig took too long of a time to make. I will say though, it was clever. If a fish was thinking about eating it and it all of the sudden moved like that, no doubt that fish would have had a reaction strike

      I still fish a few I made up winter before last when we were snowed-in one weekend. They almost always get bit, but it's easy to overwork them and spook the fish, I think. Even though they still work, I don't think they're worth the time it takes to make them. When the few I have left are ripped to shreds I won't be making up any more.

    When I was 8 yo I literally caught a 2lb bass on an empty brass hook under a bobber when after losing my live minnow I threw a correction cast (the line was jinky on the spool). Therefore all baits are gimmicks and scams when all you apparently need is a golden colored hook to catch fish. 🤔😂

    On Ali I've found some good copies of Jackson Artist, with the weight system, that catches and it's good quality. I've found some trout cranks too, that are just extraordinary for the price. I prefer paying 2 bucks for a copy, that does the same thing as the 30 bucks real one. I buy originals only in clearance, at half of the price. I am an engineer, i have a good salary, but the prices for the originals went up so much, they almost doubled in the last 3 years.

    I bought a TEMU 3/4 fly reel and it is OK. Of course I use it Brook Trout fishing in small streams so all a fly reel does in that situation is hold line. Bass fishing I fish really main stream proven baits. I don’t think I fish anything that hasn’t been on the market at least 10 years and a lot that I either made myself or were discontinued years ago. I think I catch more fish on a Spinnerbait than everything else combined.

    I caught my biggest smallie on a Banjo Minnow. I've caught many fish on them. Minnow imitations are NOT gimmicky. Fish dont have hands. The only way for them to find out "what the hell is that?" is to bite it. Bass especially become shy of over fished artificial baits. Baits are built for fisherman. The prettier they are the more you pay. When Yozuri came out people couldn't wait to overpay for their oh-so-pretty minnows and cranks.😂 😅

    I recently bought a few things on Temu. The worst thing I got was senco worms that were so thin, that I have no idea how you would use them. So thin, a hook would tear them in half lol. I wrote a bad review about them. Next time I looked at them, a picture was added to show them next to a phone. Everything else seemed okay. I don't expect the paint to last long on the lures, but the price I paid, I don't care lol.

    I miss when whopper ploppers were like a 4lb+ bass cheat code. You threw a plopperand you always catch a huge bass. Haven't gotten a bite off one anywhere in about a year in a half no matter where I throw it.

    Westin are huge here in Scandinavia, obviously since it a Swedish brand and they make quality products, the hollow body works great over lily pads for perch and smaller pike. Wopper plopper is my no1 bait for pike in my local shallow pike lake, works good for Asp also.

    The Largo Shad works good for the first 10 casts unless you catch a fish in which case it is finished. The plastic is so soft they don't hold up. You can expect to catch 3 fish with a $7 pack.

    I consider myself good at 2 things in fishing. Cranking and Walking.
    The stutter step is the easiest one to walk, but the catwalk is a close second. They sexy dawg is fantastic. My favorite would have to be the Skitter Walk. Its pretty perfect. The H2O is good. It definitely runs by itself.

    For one a small will say 6 inch, 7 inch gardener snake type of lure rubber rubber thing that goes across the water bass would go for that because little snakes will do that. I know I seen them going across the water like that go across the side and little baby bird lures, the ones that look like a little baby birds those were great too for bass. Oh God they love them like a little baby duck or something like that. Preferably those only two I can think of at the moment I’ve been smoking pot so you got me
