I helped my sister build a little pond for her birds, I got a wild idea while I was at the hardware store and bought a float controlled toilet tank filler and with some fashioning, her little bird pond now auto fills to the correct levels.
Nice! Yea those floats and auto fill come in handy .
That coop bedding is pretty cool, I'm glad it's working well 👍... The pups are doing really good with training, I hop Nash is not afraid of the birds anymore now that the mean hen is gone 🤞❤️❤️
She’s getting better 😀
Very enjoyable show. Love the dogs. When training if anyone else is going to help make sure they use the same command words. ❤
Just before you said a soup thats exactly what i was thinking. Love your videos.
Watched Green Acres the other night. The Douglas's had a chicken that laid square eggs. Haney tried to bamboozle the special chicken from Douglas's after telling them it was worthless. Episode was funny as heck. Love watching you guys progress with you homestead. Wish I could get out of the state. Still looking.
Ha ha thank you
Have to pass on a big thank you ,I copied your rotary hoe mounding tool and it works a treat , so thanks so much for the creative tips
Cheers from Aus
Hello Syd & Mike
Have a great holiday weekend
You too !
Wow! Lot of work for 'em eggs! Like the Vid!!!
Ha ha true !
Look at you listening to me about the pellets 😂 I gave the better scooper I’ll show you it later.
Winter is cold,
Summer is hot
Birds that are jerks,
Go in the pot
Keep 'em straight Syd!
😂
Great Vid with the Pups Syd. The aerator will deff help, even with the copper. Red just needs a neck snatch and a hot pot. 😖🤨👀
Ha ha agreed !
Hey Syd, did tht copper seem to help ur tank? I also have the same tanks across the property, for the goats, sheep, etc. I have one tht stays clean for quite a long time, but it’s inside the barn and it doesn’t get any sunlight. But the ones tht r outside and I try to keep outta the sun as much as possible, well those I’m bleaching every few days. Because I don’t want my animals to have to drink tht nasty water and my dogs also drink from it. However if I could keep it cleaner by adding some copper I would gladly do tht. I’m glad u mentioned tht about the sheep because I def don’t want him to be drinking water with copper. Popcorn, our sheep, he’s such a sweetheart. He’s a hair sheep, I’ve never had one before until him and my lil guy loves him. So I def don’t want anything to happen to him. I know Guinea fowl r noisemakers but I really love having them due to ticks and snakes and any other bugs. Here in Ky the ticks and mosquitoes r horrible especially early morning hrs and evening time. I wish we had as much flatland as u guys do. We own plenty of acres but we do have many mountains here. U guys live on some beautiful property, I love living in the country. Thanks for sharing ur guys lives with us, God Bless u all 🙏🫶🇺🇸
Thank you so much ! I’ve got to say that the thing that helps the most of everything I’ve tried… is the silly goldfish . If the copper is helping it’s marginal . I really think the fish are the way to go .
@@3MISSISSIPPI Thanks so much for the reply 🙏 Tht saved me from going and getting some copper 👍
You’re welcome!
That RIR would make a delicious chicken pot pie!😊
Definitely! She has it coming !
Your Barred Rock rooster is beautiful (at least I assume it's a Barred Rock)!! Enjoy your videos so much - I'm subbed to all the framily, so warch all of you. Some days, it's hard to keep up :)
Thank you 🙏
i just subbed
Thanks for checking us out 😀
@@3MISSISSIPPI doing content is tough i feel a little uncomfortable being on camera
It isn’t for everyone so I totally know what you mean .
Hi guys
We have a Great Pyrenees, here in Tucson, he has chickens to guard and us. He I primarily a house dog. Especially in the summer. Love to see puppies being trained. Do Anatolians become “independent thinkers” like Pyrenees as they get older? Meaning, they have to decide if what you are asking them to do fits their idea of what is important at the moment. I have a 50 gallon stock pond. It is a water feature with 2 fancy goldfish, minnows, water lilies, mini papyrus and purple pickerels. I had an algae bloom the water was green and horrible! I bought a UV water filter. The water is now crystal clear. But, it is electric. Don’t know if they make a solar version.
Anatolian can be very head strong as well so training them from the jump is important. Oh that tank sounds awesome !
🐊🇺🇸🦅❤️
👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😊
I do not like Rhode Island Red chickens. They are mean and aggressive!
Agreed 👍
Eat that red head! You want dry chicken bedding, do those pellets absorb all that water?
They fluff up and turn to powder . Then it absorbs the poop clumps .
Ummm, yeah, the Anatolian and the Kangal are NOT the same, nor is there any support for your claims that the Kangal came from the Anatolian. The AKC doesn't even recognize the Kangal as a breed, however, it does recognize the Anatolian. Where are the UKC recognizes both the Anatolian and Kangal, but as separate breeds. This is easily Googled, as cited. Really shouldn't be passing out such poor information while claiming to educate others in the public forum. Very disappointed!🤨😮💨
I didn’t say that the kangal came from the Anatolian Shepherd. The Anatolian Shepherd in Turkey is also referred to as a Kangal shepherd because of the regions in Turkey that they’re from Kangal and Anatolia. I said nothing about them being recognized by the AKC here or anything like that simply the area that they originated from and what they are sometimes referred to in Turkey. You yourself can google that and see.
LOL...Chicken?....I can eat some chicken!
this is sadly not the same as the kangal, the kangal is VERY distinctive brownish tan coat with the black snout, but anatolia has the Aksaray Malaklisi, and the Boz Shepherd, and the kangal among other dogs, but the anatolian shepherd is a cross, but not a kangal they have alot of kangal in them, but they are a mix. none the less i love your shepherds!
I simply mentioned what they are sometimes referred to as in Turkey because of the area that they are from here in the US they are called Anatolian shepherds and as with most things over the years, the breed standard changes when it’s in a different area. That is part of the history and origin of the breed, and that is all I said
Hen thinks she's in charge, he will teach her she is not (generally).
Truth 🙌🏼
Hi Syd, those are beautiful looking dogs, always fun getting them out of the puppy stage. With some training they should work out for you pretty good. Your animals all look very healthy. Love your Farm and where you live. 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
Thank you 🙏
That is not a Rhode Island Red. Unfortunately every brown chicken people think are Rhode Island Reds and they are actually crossed with leghorns and took on the aggressive behaviour of the production leghorns.
I have raised and shown Rhode Island Reds and they are very mice tempered birds. My Rhode Island Reds were always bottom on the pecking order and loved to cuddled. There are my favorite breed.
The American Poultry Association describes the Rhode Island Red color as a Mahogany Bay color, which is almost black and a really deep red. They are not brown.
Your rooster is a show quality Plymouth Barred Rock. I love his crow in your videos.
Your Sebastopol geese are beautiful as well.
She is definitely a red … she’s an ugly and scrawny though . Industrially bred ( she’s from a hatchery ) tend to be smaller and paler in coloring .
Did that red hen become soup? I only accept that behavior from roos if they're defending hens!
A bad storm came through and I suspect a predator got her in the confusion…
Beautiful place! I love Anatolians! Btw, what is that gorgeous intro music?? Love it!
Thank you 🙏 it’s called uplifting memories 😀
Wow! Well it certainly is! Love seeing a little glimpse of your life on the farm! I am on a farm to but not near as pretty as yours! God bless!🌸
I had a young Rhode Island rooster that attacked anyone and anything that came in the yard, then while my grandmother was visiting from Iceland I came home from work and she was sitting on my porch plucking it. I asked what happened and she said "I was wondering what I would make you for dinner tonight and this chicken came up with a great idea" and she went right back to work.
😂
I just love to watch all the animals, they are so enjoyable and calming. The dog training is going well. I had training lessons when I bought my rescue dog and I learned that we humans must learn almost more than the animal, it went well for me and that was 13 years ago. Thank you for having this kind of video. I love it. God bless
Thank you 😊
