Even if she knew she was coming, i think the fact that she ACTUALLY showed up is what got her emotional as Loni respects Ellen so much and had her talk show debut at her show in a sense. So it's natural for her to be this way.
Amanda has been in the industry since she was a teen. I remember I was with my cousin when we were Young kids in the city and she was out there and met her and she was real friendly to my cousin.

I’m not necessarily the biggest Amanda fan but I will say with these 1000 episodes flashbacks and things like this, I can understand her being more quiet since she wasn’t there from the start. If she did act like that, then some people would criticize her for that. There are panel shows where they rotate hosts a lot but this show hasn’t so I would probably feel like an outsider a little bit too.
She was vocal enough to tell the rest of the girls what things she would do and no do like show her talent and she'd quit if the got roaches so she does speak whe she has things on her mind sometimes I just dont think she has anything nice to say

The real answer? There are multiple teleprompters in front of them with questions to read. The cameras are right above them so it looks like they're looking straight into a camera and not reading.
