Hello, I'm from Mexico, we call it "carambola" we have a tree in our backyard, it's delicious, I always take the seeds off, but once I almost eat one of them and since then I'm extra careful when I eat them, do you know if the seeds are edible, you know, just a little time ago, I learned that Apple's seeds are poisonous, only if you eat a lot tho.

This is one of the few exotic fruits I have tried and it is GREAT. It is indeed very aromatic. When you see it that color you think it is going to be very acidic, but it is not. I wish it were easier (and cheaper) to find it in my country.

Like in some countries you can just pick them from the trees which definately makes them more aromatic but some countrys get them delivered from other countrys when they are not ripe yet so there is less flavour because there is only little sun in these transports and the fruits have not completely riped

In my neighbourhood, many houses used to have Kamrak tree in front yard including my uncles house as well few trees in our Ashram. Even you can find in many farmhouses as well. Maybe it’s not that common in Kathiyawad region of Gujarat. Kathiyawad region, I have noticed too many Badam trees. My family is natively from Bhavnagar, almost every next house front yard had Badam tree there nearer to my grandfather’s house in Bhavnagar. I have never seen Kamrak in Bhavnagar.

You have to be very careful with star fruit or carombola as I also know it. It's got something in it that if you eat too much too often, or you have existing kidney problems, you could be in real trouble after eating it.

Star fruit is so delicious. I have actually eaten it. You can find it in Canada, where I live, on rare occasions. It is citrus flavoured, like a lemon, and very juicy, with the texture of apple and pear. Crunchy and a bit grainy. The skin is a bit waxy, but edible. You can carefully peel it if you prefer. Most fruits shown here are not very attractive on the outside, but star fruit is so pretty.
That's a Balingbing or starfruit. You can literally find it everywhere in the Philippines but now that I live in Michigan it's so expensive to buy one it's almost like a crime on how much they charge you for one😂.

When i lived in Hawaii, i would make banana, papaya, starfruit smoothies. Never needed any milk or anything. Id just pulse it all together to not kill any good enzymes and drink it as is. I highly recommend the combo of those 3. Simple, yet perfect.

My neighbor had a Star Fruit tree in their front yard years ago. They couldn't get rid of the fruit quick enough. Some would fall on the sidewalk and rot. But many would walk by and take a fruit or two.

I love and miss eating star fruit. It was a childhood snack that always brought a smile to my face.
When i lived in Hawaii, i would make banana, papaya, starfruit smoothies. Never needed any milk or anything. Id just pulse it all together to not kill any good enzymes and drink it as is. I highly recommend the combo of those 3. Simple, yet perfect.
In Seychelles it's called Carobole 😊 but we don't cut we just cut off the top part cuz it's not good
We call that balimbing in Tagalog and in our dialect, we call it galluran...sweeter when it is really ripe... It is an exotic fruits, found mostly in tropical areas ..

As a young kid I had to try it just because of the name when I saw it in the grocery. It’s scarce here but every few years I can find and enjoy it. It’s a delicacy.

Another one of the few fruits I have ever eaten.
Only it wasn't nearly as big and it was as a garnish for a dish.
It was light green very small and it tasted quite sour .
I would like to taste this full ripe variety one day.
