Fun Facts; You need a JIS or equivalent “Phillips” for any Japanese “Phillips” because Phillips are not the same. I have Vessel impacta’s and they are awesome, I use em for regular Phillips even. Don’t use eBay jets, they aren’t oem jets and can vary one or more sizes (say you grab 4 130 jets, you could have a 130, 2 125’s, and a 137.5 all labeled 130.) Use Mikuni Jets for Mikuni Carbs, Keihin Jets for Keihin carbs, ect. Also never jam anything in there because it will change the jet “size” by either enlarging the hole or leaving a burr creating turbulence of gas effectively making it a smaller size. Compressed air or liquids only. You also know it’s an oem jet if it has either the Mikuni or Keihin symbol stamped on it. They are also usually duller in color than the fakes. Use a screwdriver that fits perfectly. Nothing sucks more than a rounded flathead an 1” down into a hole, taking a few minutes to find the right one or hell even going to your nearest tool store or hardware etc is faster than trying to extract a stuck jet. Heat helps tremendously too but if your carb has any gas in it whatsoever (like hasn’t been sitting in a gallon of carb dip for the past day) it’s a terrible idea of course. Ps; That bolt hole goes to one of the carb bolts
Great video man! Just bought my first bike. 2017 dr200s. Love the bike but was super disappointed that there weren’t very many parts and accessories available. I’ll watch every video you post for this bike
D-Tech F.I.Y awesome man! Congrats on the new bike and thanks for the support. I will be putting out part two of this video soon and I’ll go into more detail on all the modifications I’ve done. You might be surprised on what can be done to make the Dr200s a little more bad ass!
Watched the video, did the jet and airbox mods. Gamechanger. All the pipes are out of stock, but may not even do it. It rips. Thanks for the video! Also, the screws were a hella pain to remove.
Great vid. Picking up my Dr200s tonight. Will be following along with your mods. A trick for those Japanese JIS screws is to take a cheap phillips interchangeable drill bit( unless you want to damage a screwdriver) and take it to a grinding wheel just ever so gently, removing some of the tip of the phillips bit. It'll help! Thanks for the videos!!!!
When dealing with carburetors or any type of screws on a japanese-made bike get a good set of Japanese industry standard screwdrivers JIS for short. Will save your screw heads .
Place the jis screw driver into the head and give each screw a light but solid tap at the back of the screw driver handle with a light hammer or the handle of a 12" crescent wrench. It will jar the thread just enough to get it to let go and come out easily. Cool video. Appreciate the inside view of this carb. Thanks.

Unfortunately I watched your vid “ after” I bought the Sigma stage 1 jet kit. they gave me 40 pilot instead of a 37.5. Do I now need to drill holes in the air box to get the right mixture or can I leave it stock?
Paul S L If you haven’t already played with the fuel adjustment screw I’d say go for it. Even if you swap jets to the 37.5 you will still want it done especially with an aftermarket exhaust. It’s as easy as drilling holes in your air filter cap. You can start with a smaller drill bit and test that before you work your way up. With a bigger jet tho, you may need a bit more air flow. You could try to see if it runs well without the cap if you are unsure of drilling into the air box cap. I hope that helps and good luck. Thanks for the comment!

ichibangrom the 2019 should be the same as the 2015. I don’t think there are carb differences. The metal washer shim needs to be between the C-clip and the white plastic washer. It just gaps the needle correctly. It doesn’t really matter how you get it on there, whether you take the C-clip off and put on the metal washer on or slide the white plastic washer down and off and slide the metal washer on.
