"The wind does not always cooperate"! Reminds me of a Thanksgiving dinner in a wash in the desert of Borego. We retreated to San Diego to a pretty gritty, somewhat overcooked and cold, but very memorable turkey dinner.
Yeah, Rick still pronounces Pecans in the proper Oklahoma form, 'Pa-cons'... Love watching a fellow Sooner cooking my favorite cuisine. Thanks Rick for wonder programs.
I love your videos and have made many of your recipes. My Mole' was a great success. The videos just make me want to travel to Mexico. I've only been to Mexico City, which I fell in love with. My daughter and family lived in Palanco for several years. I love the people and the food.
This episode is perfect timing for me, menu wise. I've been thinking about grilling fish and these perfect recipes give me perfect inspiration! Thanks Rick!
Fortún Ximenez “discovered” La Paz in 1533. He was killed by the indigenous inhabitants of the town after his crew began raping women and plundering people of their pearls, which they collected from oysters. Hernán Cortes arrived two years later and took possession of the town.
Hate to say it but that was the most beautiful posting up I have ever seen Man that cooking guy is ugly IE woof woof that was so much what I live for Beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You lost me on "it was discovered"... Colinizers always colonizing. Mexico has a very long and rich history going back thousands of years. While the Spanish conquest is part of it and has in some ways enriched our culture and history, speaking as if everything started in the 1500s is offensive. Especially from someone who literally made a multi-million dollar career in appropriating Mexican food and culture. Unsubscribed. Do better. By the way, for your education, the Guaycura and the Pericúes were the indigenous peoples there.
Dude the desert looks so insane. So beautiful.
you are such a king for giving us all this endless content for FREE

Not just "The Pearl" but also "The Logbook from the Sea of Cortez." Both great reads.
