  • In this episode I show you my Mesa Boogie TA 30. An amp that has been crucial for my live shows in the past 5 years at least.
    It's a beast of an amp, and very versatile although always vintage sounding.
    This is my custom painted Mesa Boogie TA30.

    I picked up a second hand Ta 30 combo. It’s next level and has sat me down.
    The vox channel is so dynamic I can do clean to overdrive and everything in between just by playing feel. And Then repeat it using the tweed channel.
    2 amps known for their sweet transitions in one. All pimped up by Boogie Engineering.
    Oh , and having a Marshall and a quality Mesa channel left in reserve shuts the lid on this amp quest of mine.
    I then threw away the key when I used the variable wattages 15/30/40* on each channel.
    TBH : If you could wish for a dream amp to santa.
    It would sound like.
    Dear Santa
    I wish I had a fantastic vox amp and a great fender amp and a brilliant Marshall amp and a ripping messa boogie amp. All n one box.
    That can play at any volume, oh and it’s gotta look uniquely cool.
    He’d answer
    “ring Mesa boogie. “

      It's a total sleeper. Does tweed, Marshall, old school boogie and Vox very well. Pair with a good alnico driver like a Celestion gold or blue, or a Jensen blackbird alnico and done sauce.

    You’re really demonstrating how you get your tone with this amp, which is sweet as, this is just a microcosm of what’s available on this amp. I love mine to death it amazes me how many tones I can coax out of it, especially with different guitars. It’s a good idea to keep it up high so you can see the white control panel, my main complaint with it.

    @Mr7ender 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Advise : Buy this amp only with an extended warrenty , because this "hummer box" has too many features in it , and due to all this features the pcb is way too complicatid by the use of micro-relais , optocoplers and switching -fets.
    The EL84 tubes final stage have no adjustable bias circuit , so changing tubes might be a tricky thing .
    ( just my two cents ! )

    Ola Buddy, conheci seu canal há pouco, mas tô curtindo muito. Parabéns pelo trabalho!
    Esse amp me parece ser muito interessante de fato - sobretudo quanto sua versatilidade tonal.
    Considero ele para uma próxima compra de amp (embora nao seja tão fácil o encontrar nos dias de hoje). Vi alguns comentários seus quanto a confiabilidade e problemas que enfrentou com ele. Nesse sentido deixo 2 perguntas, que se puder responder seria legal:
    1) qual outro(s) amp(a) que já tocou que indicaria para ter uma versatilidade (features e timbres) parece da com o TA 30 e na msm faixa de preço pra baixo?
    2) sabe se o problema que teve com esse amp é de fato um problema é comum, ou foi uma má sorte sua?
    Muito obrigado
    Abs

    Hey Budda, love these videos. My first amp was also the dc-5. I live about 15 minutes away from the Mesa factory. I still have my dc-5 and also have a TA15 which I use all the time and love it.
    I called Mesa and asked them about your red amps and they said they do not do these custom chassis and I can't figure out how you had this done. Is Mesa lying that they didn't do the red amps?
    Thanks and your stuff and playing is great.

    If I understand correctly, can you use the master volume to keep the amp at a low volume while cranking the gain to get distorted sounds but at "bedroom" levels? I'm really interested in this amp but I just want to make sure I can use the gain/drive at lower levels for recording and late night playing.

    • @BuddaGuedes
      @BuddaGuedes  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can but it’s different overdrive tone! A tube amp sprays sounds better at a considerable volume. It’s probably better to consider a 5 watt amp!!
      Thanks

  • @johanaavit
