The 2nd story: I don’t think that your overreacting, and something like that isn’t something you “just get over” just like that, but I don’t think she was being fake or anything-it seemed like she was genuinely just trying to avoid any drama at her wedding which is very understandable you don’t want any of that negativity at your wedding, but at the same time if she wasn’t going to invite you then she should’ve talked about it with you and explain exactly why she isn’t inviting you either that or tell her mom to get over it and grow up! It’s not like ur ex was cheating on you-him and his new wife met 2-3 years after you guys divorced, and I get being in a 15 year long relationship only for it to not work out is heartbreaking but you have to move on and if you did-good for you truly tho! Story 1. OP needs to get out. Her husband is NOT treating her like a person, he's treating her like a possession that doesn't have boundaries or opinions. She needs time to herself to think long and hard about how disrespectful he is to her and actually consider how this translates to her well-being and relationship.
Story 2. Do not get pressured into forgiving and forgetting. It's true no one told you about not being invited and that's still true now. If OP meets her sister then the family's going to try sweeping it under the rug, even though this has definitely damaged OP's relationship with her family. Take some time for yourself first to consider what you think is the best for you, if that's getting back into contact then stand your ground that you feel detached after so long and whatever YOU feel.
Story 3. He told you, he apologized for blowing up about the cat earlier, yet the very moment you seem on board to get rid of YOUR cat he takes that as "as long as it's gone everything's fine". NO. He omitted that he took the cat to the shelter because apparently selling him off wasn't any worse. Translation, he doesn't care for a literal _living_ _animal_. Thank goodness OP realised the type of person he was and cut him off before he could do more.

In story#2, instead of doing messenger work by conveying Sarah's message to talk, if the dad had asked Sarah to just pick up the phone and dial her younger half sister's number, it would show that he thinks family is important.
Story 1: Something is off on that story. I feel weird going into a couples bedroom even with no one in it. But this dude just walks in like he owns the place knowing she's in there asleep? I'd be questioning why he has such a comfort level in MY bedroom. Then add the husband's defense of the friend. There's more than friendship going on there.
Yeah. It's weird to me the husband jumps to defend the friend than his own wife. I've heard of stories where husband's who are in the closet will act like that and try to gaslight and put down their wives just because they are unhappy with themselves. And they usually just want to be gay. So it sounds like her husband is one of those cases.

As for the second story: I can understand complicated guest lists. Or not being able to have everyone be there. My husband and I had people living across the country, and many couldn't make it to our ceremony.
The solution? We live-streamed it on an app called Lovecast. There are many ways to share your special day, whether there are complications with travel expenses, pandemic limitations, or drama between guests. This is simply another option to include people, even when issues arise. It's better than just not inviting someone who you want to keep in your life, and not having the courage to talk about it beforehand!
In the first story, the OP might need a divorce. If your husband calls you "sl*tty" for sleeping naked (which is even more healthy for women), then he definitely does not need to be in your life. The friend needs to AT LEAST announce his presence ("*knock knock* hey, can I grab ___?") And wait until appropriate timing (no 11pm)
Second story: the OP has every right. The sister completely betrayed them for not even TELLING them that they weren't invited. Plus it was the SISTER'S wedding, not her mum's. SHE gets a choice in who goes to HER wedding. Honestly, I'm glad OP went NC with her after all that...NEVER risk your mental health for relatives. Family is love and unbreakable bonds but relatives are merely blood.
Third story: I could NEVER have a partner that didn't like my pets. They are my family, don't like them? Leave. More likely than not, I'd have gotten the pets first so they stay over my partner. OP was very nice about it by ONLY kicking them out.
I feel for her in the third story 😔 my dad "gifted" me my Pigeons and then used them to force me to do anything he wanted like "do this for me or I sell the Pigeons"... I refused of course. But eventually I got tired of it and he asked me if I wanted to sell them so I said ok... being a naive teen I expected that I'd get some time with them at least but no he immediately took them and sold them and destroyed their house which I BUILT..... he even left out 3 who were flying outside and didn't care that they had no shelter anymore... so I had to take care of them but he got mad so he took them and threw them somewhere far away... I was devastated. But I forgave him because "family is more important" bullshit. Then he did exactly the same when he brought cats to the house.... my heart will never heal from it and how our mama cat just gave birth and I named all the kittens and help the mama take care of them 😭 but you just have to put on a smile and fake everything because I got mad before and everyone was against me telling me to get over it "they're just animals" 😔 they don't care how I feel, guess family isn't really important to them, but they expect it to be important to you. They just wave the family card when they need something from you.
That's super shitty. Please tell us you're NC with them! People who treat living beings as bargaining chips are not sane, and certainly not family!

Story 1: I'd be uncomfortable entering any room where another person is sleeping, let alone the room of a woman who's not my wife or family. Worst of all is the husband calling her a slut for sleeping naked in her own room. He has no respect for her at all. If he wants to let the friend in their bedroom at all hours of the day and night, he can marry him instead.
Story 2: The ex-wife can deal with her father coming to the wedding, but not her? Hm. And that the father thinks she should just "get over it," as though he would've just gotten over it if he wasn't invited for the same reason.
Story 3: Glad she got rid of that husband. Unforgivable, to steal someone's loved pet and put them in a shelter behind their back.
The first story, both the husband and friend need to adjust to the fact that they not college roommates and he is married. The wife is patient because some would of pack up and left. Simple boundaries - knocking on the door, best lesson my grandparents teached me.
First story: OP is not wrong, imagine if the brother can get away with seeing his sister-in-law naked. Then what else can he get away with? Also your bedroom is your bedroom. OP needs to go to brother in law's room unannounced and be like "I want to walk around MY house and inspect MY house".
Story 2: OP is not wrong, her half sister was wrong for what she did and she waited 4 whole year's to say something? And how does the dad say " family first" now when it comes to forgiving the sister but you excluded her from the wedding, isn't she family or is she family when it benefits you? NTA.

Guy in the 1st story is gay and the best friend is his boyfriend. That's literally it. The red flags are just there.
Starting with how the BF (short for Best friend but boyfriend sounds correct too) doesn't respect the wife AT ALL. Instead he went to "whine" about how she is naked on the bed. Second with how her husband DIDN'T defend her but rather defended the "honor" of the bf. Third, bf is borrowing to many items. Fourth, bf acts like he own the house even though he is a guest. Lastly, husband isn't sleeping with the wife... there is a lot of unpack here.

They do that on purpose, there's no reasoning with them because that is their intent, to mess with the person that's asking for basic boundaries. Notice that they do that at the worst times, they wait until OP is supposed to be asleep, or taking a shower like in the previous story.
