This is why I also love the Kurohyou series, you got tons of styles and all types of punks on the street know stuff like Bajiquan, Muay Thai, Sumo, MMA and even Jiu-Jitsu.
Fun fact: Andre's fighting style is listed as Savate in the Coliseum when you're fighting his moveset clone. Savate is essentially French-Style Kickboxing with a heavy emphasis on making use of your combat boots Which is why Man in Black from Kiwami 2 is so painful to fight
I really like how the yakuza / like a dragon series really puts a lot of respect into the MMA that they showcase. It really makes you appreciate the effort in these moves.
There’s so much characterization in the styles. Mine using kickboxing representing his more “modern yakuza” style as well as being more focused on the western world. Meanwhile Kiryu’s karate base juxtaposes that. 10/10
Andre’s kickboxing is so good to see and flows like water and pretty realistic except for the back flip kick and mines boxing is pretty good expect for those kicks since that’s pretty hard to land in real life and goofy looking
I love the attention to detail what RGG puts into each and every character and their fighting style. Like you can easily tell that both yagami and kuwana use bajiquan with the elbows and akiyamas taekwondo with how he always returns to a standing position after every move. I am a MASSIVE martial arts nerd so i love seeing them incorporate new moves (even if the game is a bit shit). Next vid needs jeet kune do, drunk boxing and wing chun 🙏🙏
Amen brother Unfortunately, there aren't many of these styles you just mentioned. Drunken boxing is just Minami and 2 Zhao moves Jeet kune do is a few Yagami moves and Action Star Kiwami skill Wing chun is like 2 or 3 Lee and Yagami moves
@WeirDuck Well there is the heat moves the characters perform while drunk plus the old man in kiwami coliseum. In 0 there is a mini boss who uses JKD and lots of npcs in LJ as well. Not sure about wing chun tho but yagami LITERALLY PUMMELING A MAN TO DEATH with the most ridiculous move has to be included lol
So amazing! So Ichiban's fighting style street fighting and pro wrestling and Yagami's fighting style kung fu. But Ichiban learned MMA from Asakura and Yagami learned boxing from the Todoroki Boxing Gym and School Stories Expansion Pack DLC style.
I love these videos, please make more. Also one thing I noticed in this is that the final bosses have the same fighting style as the main characters (Akiyama and Arai have taekwondo, Yagami, Kuwama and Kuroiwa have Kung Fu, Kiryu and Mine have kickboxing etc.) and if that's intentional it's a really cool detail.
I love how similar Arai and Akiyama's fighting styles are! makes me wonder if Akiyama based his style of him.. pretty good video btw! hope we can get a part 3!
Amazing follow up video brodai, I would like to see more of these kinds of videos but I can't think of anymore martial arts that's used in enemy movesets that hasn't been mentioned Brawling looks promising but it's pretty vague imo, and as you said Judo are almost exclusively in heat actions and throws. I have mentioned wing chun before but again, only Sera, Yagami, and possibly Kanai uses them
@@WeirDuck greetings, good sir. i wrote every fighting style section on the yakuza wiki, and i'm certain kuroiwa does not entirely use tkd because all his grabs, like his command throw and standing choke, are heavily koppojutsu-styled

I was training at Muai Thai gym for a while, and one day, when trainer showed us moves and how to chain them together, it hit me, how Kiryu's Rush style is practicaly just Muai Thai. Even the stance is similar, exept legs aren't straight.
Rush is definitely more kickboxing. The feigns, weaves, and body shots are very reminiscent of boxing and the stringing of mostly fast body kicks to the sides make it kickboxing. Both combat sports tend to use a lot of shin kicks but rush is missing a lot of core muay thai techniques like knees, elbows, strong leg kicks, clinches, etc.
OMG how did I not realise Yagami was doing Bajiquan this whole time. I thought it was his own modified version of Tiger style Kung Fu. It's called Tiger style after all
Kiryu be like: Ha! You noobs! I have Self-Taught Kenpo! Although, tbf, Self-Taught Kenpo feels like MMA in terms of mixing and matching different techniques together.
I always thought kuroiwa was fought in a pentjak silat style, wich is cool because is not a often talked about Martial art, but it is a very awesome one, for a example of what it looks like just look at the raid movies
2:12 Did.....Did Zhao just said "Juunen hayain dayo"??? Edit: I just checked something out as why that move look so familiar, then I realized that it's one of Akira Yuki's super move from Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax

Love the Tsuruno edit, he really impressed me as a character
That frame of Tsuruno at 3:41 is just so cool to see!
Also Kuwana’s mortal attack at 1:21.
the peak sequel to the peak video. the yuki edit went hard too
Черт, я и не знал что вы русский. Мое вам уважение, думал я один такой подмечаю виды боевых исскуств в играх. В частности в якудзу
он может и не русский, я видел что очень много футажей на таких видео по yakuza: like a dragon на русском
Glad to finally see part 2 keep up the good work
Thanks bro
the actor who provided the face for tsuruno has an awesome fight scene with the actor who provided the face for Kuze, in a movie called Bad City
Good old Tosihiro Nagoshi and his Rgg team put up attention to detail in fighting style and techniques really appreciate it so much
Gotta love how Tsuruno gets his own section in the video lol
Юки Цуруно топчик. Спасибо за такой интересный видеоролик.❤
Mine is a Mishima btw, just look at what he has, multiple hellswep, a crouch Dash uppercut, a high axe kick and the classic 112
yeah, i noticed that too
he even have thunder god fist that i didn't include in the video

As far as im aware Kuroiwas fighting style is actually based on Koto-ryu koppojutsu. But im not a expert so i could be wrong

The linear punches, elbow drives and the double front kick are Bajiquan. The big flashy moves and spin kicks are more kung-fu/wushu
Rush style is beautiful
Still want to land that heat action at the end of the kickboxing sequence in a spar someday xD
You forgot Shrimpnada the character most power full
For part 3 ya think you could do a weapon based style of martial arts?
yeah, i can do that, like all knife movesets, bats, pistols, katanas, etc.

Great video but I think Kuroiwa resembles Taido more than Taekwondo due to his fluid moves.
He has a few taido kicks and that's it.
Kuroiwa is like Yagami, he made his own fighting style based on different martial arts

Не думаю что у Куроивы тэквондо, у него вроде копподзюцу и хунг гар. Но на тэквондо похоже
