The Tojo Clan Long Battle is probably one of the most creative usage of the reused asset. The only real complaint here is that some QTE look a bit odd/incomplete, but the efforts more than make up for it.
its caused by not being able to mod in the effects (bloom, motion blur, heat effects) in qtes etc with the modding tools we have access to atm

@@thatkerimguy We can actually do all of those things already (or at least a whole fuck ton of them) lol. It's just really likely that this was one of the QTEs added early into the mod's development, which is why it looks so choppy and stitched together despite the tools we have access to now which can blend multiple animations into one seamless cutscene.

12:09-12:45 I love this whole segment. Majima and Lao Gui just beating the shit out of eachother, while my favorite part of Archnemesis pleases my ears.
To think almost a year ago, that sequence was damn near impossible because of the models teleporting to areas the camera didn't actually reach. That and almost the entire QTE being a incredible combination of scenes from cutscenes and other in-game QTEs. Yakuza modding has gone farther than anybody would've ever imagined it could.
Legit felt like a movie
For those who don't know, that whole sequence is a combination of parts of cutscenes/QTEs where Yagami goes blow-for-blow with the final bosses of both Judgment games

I just love this sequence placement. It looks like Wen Hai Lee's just toying with Majima; Pretending to get hurt by his punches, then catch him off guard (literally) and try and hit him with the God Hand.
This is literally how it happens with the original owner of the dynamic action, this DA plays when you finish soma 1, when yagami hits him multiple times, then soma catches him off guard with an extremely fast roundhouse. Really cool stuff

Boy took any doubts I had about both the new protagonist and game genre, tied em up neatly, and buried em six feet deep. Looking forward to Yakuza 8 more then I am Elden Ring DLC, and that's saying something.

My only real critique is that the camera transitions and facial expressions need some touchups, but even then it’s still fantastic. All the choreography is phenomenal.
No shit it's reused animations from the other games
For mostly facial nodes and blender edits, this looks excellent. Definitely a step above Essence Remade, which lacked a lot of expression. My main issue is some QTEs having pre-recorded sound to circumvent for the new audio files for punch SFX and more (e.g. Shibusawa's and Kuze's final QTEs sound terribly choppy). It could be pulled off correctly, but it sounds crunchy and low quality.

To be fair, I think that's a Counterhook. Kiryu doesn't learn the Tiger Drop until Yakuza 1.

Awano using the satoshi qte for breaking the wall, and lao gui doing the steroid refill but with a staminan juice box at the end are such cool ways of reframing the judgment qtes
Iwami’s dynamic intro fits with Shibusawa fight, he was ready to end both of them, plus 6 was the next mainline after 0.

With the exception of Lao Gui's intro (which I thought was spicy enough as it was, not that this was bad), this is incredible. More fights need true dynamic intros. The Nishitani fights were my particular favorites

Taking the Yagami vs Kuwana slugfest cutscene for the Lao Gui qte is really cool.(Honestly scratch that using cutscenes in general as qtes/dynamic intros is a real good use of assets.)
Pretty cool things to spice things up. I liked Awanos wall crack from the punch. Though shibusawas original intro is already perfect if you ask me.

Retry Lao Gui intro looks pretty cool, although still doesn't really beat the sick intimidation/symbology of that flip in his real intro, problem with the Retry intro is that he doesn't look intimidating enough. Original genuinely looks and feels dangerous in all his dynamic scenes, like even the smallest slip in Majima's movements and he's dead.
