This is the latest addition to my already way too extensive collection. Thanks to your review and others. Indeed, it's like a R-9012 with a digital display. It actually resembles the R-9012 a lot, and it seems to be equally lovable.
This radio has been my trusty companion for over 3 years now and i still love it because of the overall good round sound get when you plug in headphones and because it's a analog tuner which i sooooo prefer. Also love that it comes with a protective pouch so it won't scratch too fast when you carry it in your luggage like I do. The tuning dial is also a pleasure to use. I had only a few much cheaper SW radios before that had a much simpler dial that was harder to finetune so when i got this bad boy here it was like night and day difference and made browsing the SW band so much fun when you're laying in bed with headphones on and listening to the Bands you scan. The only downside is each time you press the light button you hear a pretty nasty crackle click sound (even on the speaker when you have no headphones plugged in). Other than that i love it a lot.
Hi Todderbert Sir. Always great to see your videos. Can you put out a review and band scan of Tecsun S-2000 or its other similar cousins. It will be really great :-)
A doc Around 1530 is Havana Cuba. Havana is all over the shortwave bands both day and night. I find that analog tuning is better for finding new stations and digital is better for returning visits shortwave. I have the Tecsun analogs for browsing shortwave for new stations. Shortwave has always been a source of information and disinformation. I only do shortwave a little because of the negative type of broadcasts of apocalypse they seem to offer. I used to enjoy RCI international from Montreal. Good stuff but no more. Same with BBC is off the shortwave. I always found BBC boring but I liked their perspective in small doses. It amazes me that shortwave is still around. Streaming is very nice for now as long as radio stays vibrant.
Not true. BBC still on shortwave. You just need a broadcast schedule and frequency information. BBC, Radio New Zealand Pacific, WRMI Legends, RRI Romania, Egypt on 9900 and TRT Türkiye also present. Harder to find under the noise but still there. Not as much to find. My hobby has indeed changed. There are utilities, air traffic, and even hams. Still stumbling across some very cool things, especially pirate broadcasters. Respectfully disagree, still always something to find on shortwave. VOA is even still around. My personal experience with internet radio is not as good. RNZ Pacific is on that, too. People say the internet killed shortwave. No, noise and general greed is what is killing off the shortwave and medium wave bands. If you live outside of North America you can still get all kinds of shortwave broadcasts. Most broadcasts are not beamed to NA any more. Do research before you post.
Hi. When you do these videos, how do you know the call letters, location, and distance so fast? Is this just experience or are you using an app or website?

Any future plans on reviewing the Eton Elite 750? 🤔
Not sure yet. I need to find a spot to put it :)
Open this radio and use small flathead screwdriver to expand AM frequencies up to 1720 kHz.

Mostly Experience, and I have a cheat sheet to my right in case I forget the Call Letters, or Distance.
@@todderbert wonderful thank you.
@@todderbertGreat job! Greetings from Brasil!
Inflation sucks
I remember, in terms of sensitivity, this radio was mediocre.
