I love non licensed superhero games. Infamous, Prototype, Undefeated, and Crackdown are some of my favorites, but it is nice to see different genres as well.
I was absolutely gutted when Midnight Suns was cancelled! But also glad they decided not to release it when they knew the Switch hardware just wasn’t up to it. Unlike some others *cough* Arkham Knight *cough*

Midnight Suns is a weird game, I wish they had just a combat mode/rogue lite mode so you didnt have to engage with any of the dumb story stuff

One of my favorite comic book games growing up was Comix Zone. It’s nice to see Comics games that aren’t tied to DC or Marvel. There’s so much that can be done.
I am so stoked to buy this game, especially as a huge fan of xcom 2! I can get past the slight hardware limitations. Plus, I am just happy the issues are minor compared other switch ports we have seen struggle recently!

Midnight Suns is fantastic in its own right, don't sleep on it. Sad the switch version was canceled but if you've got a way to play it, give it a go.
I'm just so pissed about the PC namechange, keeps me from enjoying most new Marvel properties right now.

Reviews I saw didn't really have glowing things to say about the relationship management portion of the game. That's why I lost interest. Combat looked enticing though.
@InnerRise The real name is Midnight Sons, but because of Disney Marvel being anti-male they refused to use it. "Suns" is just bullshit.
Defending Marvel against the sexism of Disney is something Ill always do, whether that makes me an incel or not.

Wow super early review code! Already preordered because i loved the team's older games, freedom force and hand of fate are fantastic,hopefully they can patch out the stuff and update it a few times. Really impressed how this game turned out tho, good job devs.
Very glad you've reviewed this one, it's definitely on my radar since I loved Midnight Suns. Shame about the technical issues, but if it can sort those out it's an absolute buy for me.
I really love this style of game so I'll definitely be checking it out. May wait for a potential all patched up video first though.

Looks awesome! As a strategy fan definitely picking this up, seems most of the complaints can be addressed in patches.

Do you think there is any chance you might review The Land Beneath Us? It's being ignored by almost every site but it's one of the better eshop games of the year IMO. As for this game I'll wait for a sale after some patches I think.
Funny how the mechanics, and even from the devs themselves, say hiw Into the Breach was a big inspiration for this game. But everyone keeps saying XCOM.
Currently playing Disgaea 5, more my kind of tactics game.

I was very excited about this one! Glad it seems like the guts of the game seem really good although I may have to get it on another platform unless we see it on an episode of all patched up!
midnight suns was really good?
This is on my watch list. Will be choosing between this and CARDS RPG as my next game after i finish up 13 sentinels.
Cards rpg has a demo. That game looks very good UNTIL you see how tedious the gameplay is. Takes way too long to attack and pass time. Seemed like a cheap spinoff on mobile that couldn't decide what kinda game it wanted to be.
@@danebramage04 yeah played the demo multiple times. Found it very engaging and snappy. I had no issues with the gameplay (i used the speed up setting as well as i was able to speed up card selection). I had more issues with the battlemap graphics and the story.
@TheRobversion1 if I recall, the cards were very similar and kinda boring... and the translation didn't help any

Deffo seems like a good time but that price is too premium imo.
Hard to tell from the review but is this more like Xcom where you can at least make your own strategies to clear battles, or is itmore like Mutant Year Zero where there is a single explicit strategy you need to use to pass a battle?

Cool!! Hope it gets some patches to get it in a better shape. It seems like a nice in between Midnight Suns/XCOM & Fire Emblem mechanics wise. Does it have a main hub area like the Abbey or just go from mission to mission via menu? I much prefer just a menu screen as the Abbey is such a boring drag on that game & it wasn’t much better in FE: 3 Houses or Engage either.

This definitely goes on the sales and all-patched-up watch list. Looks great, but when I feel the need to play a strategy game, I can replay or play any that I already have and easily get (another) 50+ hour playthrough out of them. Waiting for sales got me several of my favourites at a combined price of less than ten euro. Hard West and Phantom Doctrine at 2 each often, Xcom 2 at 5, and I got 10%off on eshop credit back then and got 50€, so the arguably biggest and best was free.

Its unfortunate sbput midnight dons bit after hearing ehat happened and the fact if i remember right the studio was shutdown its no surprise. At least yhis doubds like a decent replacement for it.

Did you mention how long this game is and if there is replay value? Xcom 2 was great because every playthrough was different.

I actually enjoyed midnight suns the writing was trash but gameplay wise was really good definitely worth playing even if you like me and terrible at these games still worth a play.
Damn, this game looks rough! Some of those cut scenes look like they 3DS level fidelity. I like the character models and the art style in general but the way it’s presented is not good.
Another super hero strategy game, with original characters but no character creation.

Think i'll wait for a patch or a sale, though it does look interesting. But.....NONE of them wear... capes?
The only problem is the characters look really strange. none of them look beautiful at all. if you think about it, there are so many gorgeous women in real life.
