You mentioned Canada getting the F-35 instead of F-15 or F-16. There must be a capability gap between the real F-35 and the DCS version as it’s so popular for foreign export. I know it’s not meant for dogfighting, but so many countries are going for the F-35 it’s got to be pretty good.
That was great getting to see the F-35 Lightning in Action so soon after seeing 4 of them last week, cheers! It certainly took you by surprise a few times, which must mean it's pretty good. :) Any chance you could do a match up of one against the Eurofighter Typhoon, which I also saw? That would be great, I'm intrigued to know which one is better, in both a standard and guns only dogfight.
F-35 is cool, saw them flying over my house few days a go, pretty low pass. Most F-16 are still used more often here in my country. Anyways, great video and thanks for sharing👍🏻
This was fun to watch and pretty suspenseful. The F35 performed well, I wonder just how good it really is? Eagles were never part of the deal, but Gripens wearing the Maple Leaf would have been the best. I would have loved a hi-lo mix, F35s to run interference and spot targets with F15EXs hauling the missile loads but then again I had a tough time letting go of the tooth fairy. I think the Bock III Super Hornet would have been fine if Boeing hadn't pooped the bed so badly.

@@gaiofattos2 that has nothing to do with Russian tech. You can't call something better if you test it against yourself. There's no way to know for now.
Which version of the F35 do we see in the video? A or B im curious, coz the A not having that 2nd engine is much more manouvreble (should be better than the current F16 from what i know)
You can tell by the gun capability in this case. Only the A variant of the F-35 carries an internal gun. The B and C have to carry a gunpod if they want that kind of offensive weapon. Said Gunpod is quite noticable, as it is mounted on the central weapon station below the fuselage. The B and C can be seperated by the "neck" of the B variant with a shortened canopy that is meeting a matching wider section of the fuselage with a large "door" right behind the canopy for the lift fan. The C variant looks a lot more like the A in its canopy design but has significantly larger wings, elevators and stabilizers, which changes the appearance of the whole airplane as proportions change the look quite drastically. The A variant is the most capable dogfighter though, as it can sustain 9G. The B can only sustain 7G and the C 7.5G. Those are the official numbers at least.
Yo GS, I was just thinking to myself wouldn't it be something if they did the f22 shit on GS and then you ended up saying it after that engagement. LOL. The most iconic moment imo in your channel. Thanks again. Have a pleasant weekend. Cheers.
Seems a little odd that the jet with the greatest S/A ever featured in a fighter aircraft is so easily able to be snuck up upon and then so easy to down despite it's incredible jamming and long range detection features. Id like to see some BVR fights against "any other aircraft" you care to name and see if the modelling of this aircraft in any way resembles reality.
I’d agree in that the f35 sim being used probably is far from accurate, not to mention the fact that they can’t get high because of the air defenses, it’s a niche situation.
Does the F-35 in DCS have the DAS system modeled? It would basically do everything an EO system would do and then some in terms of detecting other aircraft.
That is is the case, but in DCS, we only had J-11A, which is just a license produced Su-27SK, a very old model. J-11B is also getting AESA radar upgrades, paired with PL-15, it will be better than Su-35 in BVR, but Su-35 is more maneuverble for dogfight.
YOU know more than any Politician in Canada bro. Canada needs 15s to go way, way up north to interdict 7 SU27 with 3 Antanov tankers. The F15 can take off in Calf. and bingo time is over Labrador. Thats the Fuel load we need up north, not 3 Herc tankers chasing 4 F18s.
Rumor has it the F35 has a set of 15 inch subwoofers capable of producing 170+ decibels so that it can still have bass while blasting down Sukoi and Chinese knock offs. As a bass head myself, I can get with that. Raptor is still my #1 though ❤️ Merica!
Have you considered doing an F-35 dogfight with updated maneuvering statistics? Pilots of the program have said that its capable of pulling over 9 Gs loaded and is more maneuverable than the F-18 and F-16. Seeing more F-35 BVR content would also be really awesome. Its sad to see people rag on it for it’s dogfighting performance in past videos.

Almost had a heart attack when I heard the Battlefield 3 theme! Nostalgia and an amazing dogfight, sir you are excellent at getting likes!
Eurofighter would destroy a F-35 in a dogfight
@@deanfirnatine7814 that's if the Eurofighter could spot the F35 in time.
@@deanfirnatine7814 but dog fights rarely even happen anymore..
F-35 is cool, saw them flying over my house few days a go, pretty low pass. Most F-16 are still used more often here in my country. Anyways, great video and thanks for sharing👍🏻
@Hunter Bell Dutch
I love how with all the tech in the Flanker to beat the Lightning you have to rely on eyesight to see a shadow moving
It entered service in the 80's ,
Pumped to see the F35 GS. Well to be perfectly honest, I get pumped for all of your videos lol.
Thanks for the great content as always
Yeah but if Amy's avionics and sensor fusion were modeled you'd been in much bigger trouble 🤣. Still, she did better than I'd have thought!
Which is why it is a flying coffin. Amy is nothing without a bunch of sensors.
@@NationChosenByGod that's the main point of her existence, and every single USAF pilot has stated that they feel safer flying her than anything else they've ever touched.
@@NationChosenByGod That's a pretty irrelevant statement. Every single aircraft in the US arsenal is nothing without its sensors. The US doctrine revolves around BVR and killing someone before the merge can even happen.
That last kill was the fighter equivalent of someone stepping out from an dark alley you just walked passed and knocking you out with a baseball bat. Did not see that coming!
Would love to see more dogfights with you in the F35
When the freaking battlefield music kicked in.... really nice touch GS.
"I can't get high, which is always going to cause problems for me"
Same, buddy, same
It’s nice to finally see the F-35 in your videos
I would guess his second kill was a maddog launch, he was close. Anyway Growling thanks so much for what you're doing. I've said it before and ill say it again! Your vids are off the charts brother! Thank you.
Can we see growling sidewinder in the f35?
This scenario is one of my favorites you've done! I like the idea of dogfighting in terrain to avoid SAMs. Do more!
The F-35 was the best option for Canada should Canada choose to participate in future NATO operations. The F-35 will allow Canada to participate in Day 1 air missions.
Also allows Canadian tax payers wallets to get destroyed too.
This, and the fact that they are kinda the first line of any russian attack
@@CrotchRocket78 f-35 isnt as expensive as it was 10 years ago mate. Its actually very comparable to f-15 in terms of unit cost and operational costs
@@CrotchRocket78 fighters are expensive doesnt matter which type
I though the lastedt F35 we sitting around the $78m per unit for the A varient
Out of context quote of the day ...
8:22 "...which means I can't get high which is always going to be great problems for me."
I hear ya GS, I hear ya.
Lold
Ahhhh back when battlefield was good. Good music choice.
I miss bf3 so much
4:16 am I hearing a remix of the Battlefield 1943 theme?! That's dope lol
I think that the F-35's superior sensors would allow him to spot his opponent first at least 90% of the time.
Why don't we ever see you flying the F-35? If you can, can you please film some videos of you flying the F-35.
Very good explanation about the new RCAF fighters and the insight from @stinkyfungus is spot-on. The real reason is that Boeing ran the Canadian darling Bombardier out of business and sued them into the ground, so Canada was not going to send any business to Boeing. Just watch, Air Canada's next hardware purchase will be Airbus.
I know simulation are not fully representative of reality but I really wish to see more Mods of PLAAF aircraft, especially with how crazy fast the development has been going in the last 10 years with J10, J16 and J20s. Just this week, we are seeing rumors/photos of new variants J-11BG and carrier catapult version of J-15B.
Dude, your eyesight is crazy... I can't see the bandit in half your videos until well after you've shot at them.
Looking forward to seeing a night dogfight.
they suck to watch
Great video. Really loved the sneaky boi tactics in this one.
Not as disrespectful as a Raptor, but still fun to watch!
Germany also recently picked the F-35 for it's nuclear sharing and IDS role
I don’t think the F35 is that easy to kill. Especially head on due to its stealth coatings and tactics.
Stealth matters not at that range, stealth effectiveness pretty much end around 20 miles.
It isn't, there's no way their EOTS is better than ours and our IR sig is way lower. We'd definitely see him first.
@@spackle9999 you can never know.
@@Royallz15 Actually F-35 participate in exercises with USAF planes and yup ... they know.
@@gaiofattos2 that has nothing to do with Russian tech. You can't call something better if you test it against yourself. There's no way to know for now.
"He just shot me in the @ss. Omg, it's awesome" hahahahaha
The bf3 theme over the gun kill brought back so many memories!
WHEN, THAT, BATTLEFIELD THEME KICKS IN!!!! :D
Which version of the F35 do we see in the video? A or B im curious, coz the A not having that 2nd engine is much more manouvreble (should be better than the current F16 from what i know)
A
@@user-dq1je7zy3p Oh okay thank you :)
One of the few times I was hoping you would lose ~ LOL!!!
This mountain ridge fighting is very entertaining, gives the fight a bit of randomness!
Shit plane
I’d agree in that the f35 sim being used probably is far from accurate, not to mention the fact that they can’t get high because of the air defenses, it’s a niche situation.
well f-35 cant see thru the mountain and he cant get high either so he didnt have choice but to circle around the mountains and try to survive
8:21 it’s very brave of you to admit that. The first step to addiction recovery is admitting you have a problem
I’m more a fan of the warbirds your the only channel I watch with anything modern in it keep up the good work
As usual, nice timing on the music with the kills!
Battlefield Theme! Wicked tune please use more often 🙌🏼
GS and Longshot are the best DCS creators no contest, I watch something everyday.
Wish they update f35's flight model. It suppose to out rate a naked f16 while carrying two 1000lbs jdam in the belly.
Does the F-35 in DCS have the DAS system modeled? It would basically do everything an EO system would do and then some in terms of detecting other aircraft.
I like the change in music between kills.
Whoa first time hearing the full Battlefield themed song on this channel.
Great video. IMHO it is more interesting to fight in the valleys than fighting high up in the sky.
"He can't climb." Yeah, he probably can.
Thrust to weight of the F35 isnt that good. Not even 1 to 1
@@CrotchRocket78 It actually has a twr of 1.07 get your facts straight
@@akar68924 1 to 1 is 1.10
1.07 is less than 1.10, do you intend try and dispute that? Maybe you can use common core math...
@@CrotchRocket78 1 to 1 means 1:1 not 1.10 go back to school kid
@@akar68924 yes thats the ratio. As you previously posted showing 1.07, i showed ..87 under gross weight.
Is .87 a 1:1 ratio?
TBH the J-11B specifically is way more capable than the Su-27. Probably Su-30+ level. Not quite Su-35 though.
That first kill was awesome!
That is is the case, but in DCS, we only had J-11A, which is just a license produced Su-27SK, a very old model. J-11B is also getting AESA radar upgrades, paired with PL-15, it will be better than Su-35 in BVR, but Su-35 is more maneuverble for dogfight.
The most possible battle scenery between US and China would be over the water, F-35 vs J-20. Hope you may try this in some videos
Can you make a video of Sukhoi Su-30 MKI Vs F-15EX Eagle II
the little battlefield theme bits were epic👍
Love your cinematics to show the kill from 3rd person with BF3 music awsome! hope you will stick to that music for other videos :)
Dude that J-11 looks like a FA-18 a F-15 and a Mig-29 had a baby
Would love to see more f35 content
Wow both such beautiful aircraft and a surprisingly fun matchup. Great video!
Love these types of videos GS!
I don't hear over-g, over-g anymore....all I hear is AUBERGINE, AUBERGINE!
The last thing you’d expect from an F-35 is a gun kill 💀
Have you considered doing an F-35 dogfight with updated maneuvering statistics? Pilots of the program have said that its capable of pulling over 9 Gs loaded and is more maneuverable than the F-18 and F-16. Seeing more F-35 BVR content would also be really awesome. Its sad to see people rag on it for it’s dogfighting performance in past videos.
I would have liked to see the tac view for that video where you two are hunting each other. Great videos.
