That type of Asparagus Fern will actually climb using its 'frond' tendrils. It's not a 'true fern' but is a member of the Asparagus family. Mine climbed about 6 feet up one of my wire-rack type shelving units, and quickly too, like in less than 2 months! It can be a bit 'unruly' when happy, but it's easy to cut back to keep it in line. Just watch out for the small thorns - yes they have thorns! So be careful when trimming a large specimen. I still love them though - that airy look and if they turn brown, just chop of the brown part and it will grow new fronds - you can even cut the whole thing back to near the soil and it will revive itself. LOVE this plant! Great suggestion - but if you live in a mild climate area, they can be quite invasive outdoors, so please keep them indoors as houseplants.

I was just going to ask about these bc mine was beautiful and growing all over the place and then one day it just turned completely brown. I'm really not sure what happened, but you think I can chop it back and it'll be fine?

Harli, I just need to tell you that I absolutely love your personality and your channel. Your genuine joy is infectious, and hearing or watching your plant videos always makes me happy. It’s so easy to get caught up in the popular plants, or to be negative, but it’s so refreshing to find someone like yourself that collects plants for joy. I appreciate your honesty too, like when you addressed that you did get caught in that mindset of being caught in the social media environment. I can tell how much happier you are now. Thank you for your transparency, sharing your joy with us is such a gift so thank you for real.
My monstera deliciosa gave me a leaf with 16 fenestrations the other day, after only having 2 or 3 for the previous leaves. I get so much joy every time I see this and I’m thankful to you for helping me appreciate the beauty of every plant. I love that there are so many of us that share the same joy for our plants.
    Much love ♥️🖤💚

im so glad i found this channel, thank you for being a different kind of "houseplant influencer" + following YOUR passions instead of trying to just follow the houseplant trends. i'm fairly new to keeping plants other than cacti/ succulents; i worked at a plant influencer's online store HQ over the summer; it was such a fun gig but everything revolved around what was popular/ what would sell/ trends etc so you + your channel are breaths of fresh air. i hope to do a DIY terrarium like you did someday as well! keep on being your lovely self, it's great!

Passiflora trifasciata looks an awful lot like our native Yellow Passionflower, but the native most closely related is the Birdwing Passionflower, per the iNaturalist taxonomy. A lot of passionflower species have that nice midleaf silvery variegation, but it is variable within each species.
I have Kalanchoe marnieriana (also goes by K. panamensis) as well as a number of other proliferator “Bryophyllum” Kalanchoes. I love them! They are winter bloomers, with lovely bell-shaped flowers. Their only drawback is that they are all monocarpic, meaning once they flower, the entire plant dies. Cherish those babies that drop off the leaves!
Tahitian Bridal Veil is hardy to zone 8, as long as it is in a protected area. We have it planted in the beds next to the house, and even the Texas Icepocalypse of 2021 didn’t kill it. Beware, it will seek out other pots and colonize!
I have some limited experience with the Asparagus Fern. I first saw one that was growing about 6-7 feet along a fence in Mexico, and decided I had to have one. I’ve never been particularly successful with them, probably because they are more thirsty that my other plants

Asparagus ferns are weeds here, where I live. I hate them, they’re almost impossible to destroy in the garden. I guess birds eat the berries (if it has berries!) and crap them out to annoy me! Meanwhile, as an Aussie, I would never try to grow a eucalyptus inside… they’re iconic enormous trees in the bush and our yards. I love love love the smell. They’re just summer to me. And I’ve never heard of a dog dying because of them. That sounds nuts… why would they even go near them, other than to cock a leg!

LOL I have killed 3 different eucalyptus plants! They all die within a week of bringing them home. It's almost like my house (inside and out) is toxic to them 🤣

Well, eucalyptus may be toxic and Kalanchoe marnieriana may resemble it, buuuuuuttt don't let your pets eat the Kalanchoe either! Or any Kalanchoe! Lol

Fairly poisonous if swallowed or chewed, and more so for pets too.

Oh of course! I keep the toxic plants out of reach from kids & dogs. The reason I mentioned eucalyptus toxicity is bc even the scent from the eucalyptus is hazardous for dogs!

Thanks for pointing this! This TH-camr made it seem like kalenchoes was nontoxic which is not true at all! This is how misinformation is spread and could lead to someone’s pet being harmed!

@@HarliG yes but this video made it seem like the plant was nontoxic which is very misleading. Saying things like that could lead to someone’s pet being harmed. You should be more clear next time you talk about toxic/nontoxic plants!
