To add to my previous comment, the end argument I always hear is: "Get a PC".
I see more people having issues with PC, and realistically, not all of us have the ability to upgrade or even the desire.
If anything, there's *very* few exceptions that make PC the better option, in my opinion.
At the end of the day, every time I hop on the Sim on my Xbox, it's never the same experience. I'm always blown away.
Asobo just needs to have a focus on performance for BOTH PC and Xbox.

From my view as a retired airline pilot I can truthfully say that my Xbox and a 48 inch 4K flat screen tv is a quantum leap compared to the full flight visual simulators I experienced taking check rides and training. The aircraft are getting better(PMDG) and visuals are stunning to say the least with the prospect that the future will bring more improvements. The money I saved going the Xbox route paid for flight controllers, sim chair, yoke stand and rudder pedals and now I’m a happy 80 year retired pilot doing what he loves again!

@@Huddison well you are trying to flightsim on an XBOX in the first place so that's 3 XXX's right there. Very limited platform for flight simulation as far as hardware, software (running external apps from WASM) and mainly performance. Cool for Forza or COD though.

MSFS2020 was always a test base for Consoles to see how will all work. 2024 version will be the start where we will see true investment by MS on the Flight Sim. Hopefully a more powerful xbox in the future to make the experience as smooth as it can be. Current Series X is doing its best.

Totally agree with Wombleway and Pilot0083. I have the sim on both platforms. I think it's unreasonable that people on a 300 quid Xbox would expect to have anything close to the same experience that people have on PCs that they spent thousands on. In a vanilla state, the sim is exactly the same experience on both platforms. Expecting smalltime developers and modders to program for both platforms is just asking far too much. Let's not forget that flight simming on console is a very new concept and expectations shouldn't be so high. The very fact that it's on console at all is a massive achievement.

I think we can be happy that Xbox users can use MSFS 2020 at all. It is a huge achievement that this program works on Xbox. At the same time, we must understand that Xbox has limitations. Nevertheless there are companies that make it possible to use the Xbox at a high level. Kudos to PMDG (Boeing 737) and Just Flight (Bae 146). That study level planes work fine on Xbox. Even on the Xbox series S. Unbelievable. I don't understand why there aren't more companies making high level airplanes for Xbox. But I think very simply. You don't offer it, so I won't buy it! And meanwhile I am happy with for instance PMDG and Just Flight. Enjoyable using MSFS on a Xbox series X without paying a fortune for a high-end PC.

I'm back on MSFS now I have bought a series X, my aging laptop wouldn't keep up. It seemed the lowest point of entry and I'm happy so far (I bought it last week) after 2+ years away from the sim. What I miss is access to the career mode apps, I really hope FS2024 has a good career mode or mission generator. I also miss freeware scenery and airports. None of my primary airports I use seem to be on the marketplace otherwise I would purchase them.
I did find the sim unusable at first and I was worried, but it was easy to plug a mouse and keyboard in and I'm all good now.

I am an Xbox only user (both series X and S). I bought them solely because of MSFS. The series S is my traveling Xbox. The current loading splash pages include, "fly anywhere in the world," or some such similar statement. I don't understand why the entire world has to loaded into the sim at start up. I only fly in one part of the world at a time. Perhaps that's not what really happens. I don't know. I only speculate based on suggestions found on the internet on how to deal with blacked out CTDs, choppy frame rates and generally sluggish performance. Almost all the suggestions deal with reducing the memory and processing load of the Xbox, along with improved cooling. As it stands now, I have to preflight the Xbox and MSFS app to ensure they are dummied down enough to avoid the aforementioned problems. Even so, there are some planes that fly fine on the series X but suffer these problems on the series S. I am looking forward to MSFS 2024, hoping the promise of better memory management will be kept.

Hi James. Im not an out n out flight simmer and as you know I don't get on your discord as much as I would like . Although Since I aired my views . And took Choonzy Steves advice. I set about doing a few tests . So cut a long story short. Maybe this will help fellow xbox users . Maybe it won't. I have installed the whole of Europe. As this is where I fly the most. I use airports under 1gb in size . I still get the odd crash here n there. Avionics mainly. But watching some of your instructional videos athis past week ive picked up some great tips. On flight planning. I would get ctds mostly when Ending a flight after touchdown. Thanks to you, I don't end flights anymore or plan flights from the world view. Instead i program the GPS. At the airports I land at . This has made a massive difference mate. I can now fly. And shut down msfs when I decide . Lol So thanks for your back to basic videos mate 👌 your doing a great job . I ll post this in the discord when time allows aswell . See you on the next community flight my friend 😎✌

Real world traffic/aircraft and liveries in real time please. GSX would be great. I love having flight sim on xbox and looking forward to MSFS2024. Is it frustrating sometimes, YES!!! however, MSFS on console is still early day. MSFS for PC has been out for years.
The market place should give customers the ability to leave a review for add ons and try for free.
MSFS updates are more downdates. The basics and core game requires a fix not more fancy updates that cause more issues.

As an Xbox (Series X) user, I don't feel we're being left behind. Most of what isn't available for console isn't available because third-party mods are required, which Xbox's closed system doesn't make provision for. Products that perform poorly do so because some devs don't want to make a separate effort to optimise for a less capable system. It is what it is, and I feel Asobo has done a great deal to help console simmers with SU13.
FS2024 is designed around Xbox so I imagine the playing field will be somewhat levelled next year.

Yes were very limited as compared to pc I own both a pc and 2 Xbox xs . First and foremost, the marketplace is a complete disaster. We need a try before you buy option , a real review system not just stars , a real refund policy for the garbage that does not work , a freeware section . The Xbox struggles on memory big time . I wrote the topic on the forums about the black screens and the CTDs it’s been over 2 years and it’s an utter mess even at vanilla state I tested it all . The pc outperforming the console in many ways and pc users can simply get free dlc thousands for free while the Xbox simmers have to pay for liveries ? Ridiculous! This is coming from a pc player but also a Xbox player . It’s been ignored in the forums especially about the marketplace dlc which i have over 250 dlc paid I can’t use because the platform is utter trash and poorly coded ! Also ask Vero Times about this as well because He keeps it real and calls em out like they should be called out not this sugar coated TH-camrs too scared to speak because they get paid promotions.

  • @peterprow6093
    @peterprow6093 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    As ever Pilot83 nails it.
I do feel shafted every time i see the appalling photogrammetry (even though i manage the memory and have very fast internet) or when the SIM peforms like FS98 every single time there is an update... quit with the updates and fix the problems! Stock aircraft like the Diamonds still have the rpm bugs for example, thats disgraceful as are things like not fixing the bug that makes honeycomb lights fail. Those are not big problems to solve. Photogrammetry looking crap should be a priority issue.
I don't understand the obsession with content - there are amazing aircraft on the XBOX, all you could possibly need. If you using it for its intended purpose - making realistic flight and navigation possible to everyone - then theres no cause for complaint - the Pipers, the Hawk, Kitfox, Wilga, several high end airliners, trainers like the pc21 and even top notch warbirds like the Spitfire are all there and equal to the pc version. If that isn't enough then maybe you should play GTA 😂
Im real life you have to key in your route and planning, so im not worried about not having the same degree of simbrief/Navi/littlenav map integration as pc although I do think PC get a much better version of flow.
Peripherals arent ASOBOs fault though, each has its problems. We havent had a definitive piece of kit yet. Its fairly easy to work around with button boxes and the excellent axair miap, I dont feel shafted when it comes to gadgets, but i would happily trade my kid for an eye tracker on XBOX!

I am quite disappointed with MSFS20. I bought the Xbox Series S especially for it. Since the beginning i have almost every time problems. The last few weeks I only play in vanilla state. If I install even one world update I get problems with the instruments or the framerate. Photogrammetry is almost impossible. Since you almost can not fly with the controller I have bought T.Flight Full Kit X. If I stick to it without starting world updates it runs relatively well. Nevertheless, you have to quit and restart the flight simulator because there are errors after some time. I was several times close to selling everything again but the loss of value would be too great. I have to accept, like many other Xbox simers, that there is no other alternative. After all, I'm not alone with this experience. We can only hope that in the future it will be a lot better to fly on console.

My expectations arent that great anyway seeing as what I paid for the xbox, for the same money I wouldnt be able to run it on a PC 99% of the time i have no problems with it it just runs. I have also spent a lot of money on addons via the market probably more than the difference in an xbox and a PC. That money went to microsoft via the market and in turn to the developers, not to a computer shop or to amazon for computer hardware. I cant wait for 2024 even if its a stuttery buggy mess it wont be like anythign else on xbox

It is always easy to complain. But the sim works (almost flawless). And we forget where we came from. It is out now for 2 years on XBox and has improved massively. I bet FS2024 will improve on many points. And no, that will not happen without a few hiccups again.
We have not been neglected at all. Some functions will just never come to XBox, many freeware developers just don’t care. Blame them, not MS.

Xbox is being treated exactly the way we expected it to be treated. it's a console after all. it's unreasonable to expect a PC-level experience in a gaming console. Xbox isn't being neglected, PC simply has more options. We all know that the marketplace is garbage, so the only difference in this regard is that PC players have third-party options. Third-party developers are also not obligated to put in extra work to develop for Xbox. It is up to them to decide whether the reward is worth the extra resources. I hear lots of Xbox users complaining about bugs and instability on Xbox, but the PC version is also full of issues. That's not necessarily Xbox being neglected and most likely just Asobo being useless (the fact that I still can't right-click to pan while using my flight controls just shows how little Asobo cares).

@@Huddison even if thay did like an option wher you pay 5 pounds for a few days to test then if you decide you want it that 5 pounds gets discounted from your purchase the most expensive plane I bought was the spitfire and that was worth the money

The console sucks. I am console and am going to pc it’s such bs. Black screens my plane flying in the air when I takeoff on the runway the garbage marketplace updates it is just not good. I mean I try as hard as I can to fly professionally but I can’t with glitches, ctds, black screens. I think it is a great idea for people that want a chill flight experience but anything more than that the console can’t do it. At the end of the day the sim is made for pc and that’s how it will be.

That's how it is for now, but FS2024 will start off on an even footing for PC & Xbox.

I think that might be wishful thinking. I don't see how XBOX could be on a par with PC unless the latter is in some way prevented from performing to it's full capability; the former simply doesn't have comparable grunt nor the flexibility / connectivity. As implied above, we are comparing apples with giraffes- or Bentleys with 2CVs (without in any way wishing to diminish the excellent achievement that the XBOX running MSFS represents). Yes, more being done in the Cloud should reduce the 'stresses' on the XBOX which should reduce XBOX reliability issues, but PCs should be able to leverage that too to even greater advantage (unless any increased bias towards the XBOX somehow diminishes that). Still all speculation at the moment. MS is effectively a monopoly supplier and, bearing this in mind, I'm not holding my breath for any greater customer focus than they have shown to date(which is not a shining example). But we can live in hope.
