Various grits of black oxide paper might work better then Scotchbrite 🤔

Not too bad, it looks a lot better. However, I'd get the Dremel out using a burr and completely refinish the frame with the engraving on, so its all uniform. A Dremel with wire brush wheel might be able to clean the knurling up a bit more too. Also, I think there might be an end ratchet missing off the back of the thimble. I might buy a basket case and have a go...I got inspired.

This model has a friction thimble and therefore does not have the end ratchet.

your vid would be way better if you got rid of all the music and talked to your audience.

I would not trust it without a thorough test with various gage blocks.

@@LordPrecision you can't inspect it by looks. I have had over 3 micron errors in perfectly good looking Japanese micrometer screws. In my best ones I can't tell the error is there. The reading in this is 1 thou but the accuracy is still 1 tenth

Sir I removed the spindle to lubricte it and after it was done I tried to scre the spindle back but it had become tight to screw it?

I assume it's not cross threaded? This one came apart and was re-assembled ok. I use it now and again and it's not as free as my other micrometers maybe that's because it has been serviced and needs time to wear in. Sorry not sure what to say after that..good luck hope you get it sorted.
