- Sgt. 1st Class Lauren Curran and Master Sgt. Chris Sarangoulis perform "Fantasie, Theme and Variations on The Carnival of Venice." This theme was originally composed by Niccolò Paganini, and the piece was written by Jean Baptiste Arban. It was adapted from the Erik W. G. Liedzen arrangement for cornet and concert band by Master Sgt. Paul S. Kellner, Jr. of the United States Marine Band, "The President's Own" for two euphoniums and concert band. It was performed live by The United States Army Field Band in South Bend, Ind. on July 6, 2018.

YESS. YESSSS. I NEEDED THIS. THIS IS DIFFERENT AND I LOVE IT!!!
I played baritone horn in a boys band many years ago, but not in my fondest and wildest dreams did I ever think I could play like these two virtuosos!

thank you.
This was fun... I liked that back-and-forth between the two euphonium performers. I see a lot of respect and fun between them.
Interestingly, @5:55 into the video, I recognized a tune: "Mein Hut, der hat drei Ecken". Translated: "My hat, he has here corners". I remember this tune from childhood.
"Mein Hut, der hat drei Ecken,
drei Ecken hat mein Hut.
Und hätt' er nicht drei Ecken,
so wär' er nicht mein Hut."
"My hat, he has three corners
Three corners has my hat
And should he not have three corners
Then that is not my hat"
I am both impressed and scared
Never seen before ✌️
👏👏👏
Interesting to see the exact opposites in "mouthpiece placement". She plays very loose, moving her face a lot around the mouthpiece, and he plays very tight, keeping the mouthpiece firmly in the same spot. Both excellent players, so in the end it doesn't really matter...

Why are you stopping this video? Don't like,Megabyte!!!

Do you guys have any euphonium slots open?
We don't currently have any open euphonium positions in The U.S. Army Field Band, but check out this website for other Army band openings! www.goarmy.com/band/auditions.html
three cornered hat!
What is that valve for on the side of the euphonium?
To go in the lower register
And also for alternate fingerings
@@808bojangles so like a fourth valve that would played with the pinkie
@@zacharynelson8558 yes (i'm a euphonium player myself)
It is the same as the 1st and 3rd valve together. Some horns have a very flat Bb so playing it with the 1st and 4th valve brings it into tune. Notes below the low F can be played chromatically with accurate intonation and without resorting to harmonics by employing the 4th valve
Wrong. Euphonium bad. Trumpet good 👌🏻
NP2 NPC3 nope
Hell naw
Wrong.euphonium AND trumpet bad. Saxophone is where it's at. And that's on period. 😂
