Thanks my friend-that will be the best! I look forward to it. This is one of the most well thought out and designed new products I've seen or used in a long time. When I saw it- and got to do some hands-on, I was sold! it is bad ass. Just flaked a bobber with my full size flake buster gun last weekend- came out killer! .15 green flake and a mile of clear!
No worries, a full or mini size gun would be quicker for sure but some people don't have those tools, so if the person only has an airbrush they can still achieve the same results with only one tool. you can actually write your name in clear with an airbrush and spray dry pearls over the wet clear and have a pretty kool ghost sig. effect.
Kudos to you- this is an awesome product. I was knocked the f*&k out by it in Vegas. The ease of use- the amount of thought that went into the design and function is just amazing- I really would go for a full-on "how-to" article in Airbrush action to kick it off.
to be honest its true, i suggest to mix with small amount of flakes on the clear coat, so that the green flakes will just make an effect when light hits the paint it will shine the green color, because its look like the flakes become a base coat cause its too many....
Nice,so how do you get it sealed and have a flat topcoat?Just buttloads of clear and sanding?I want to do this to my tanks.I know it's an 8yo video,is there anything new to add? Thanks for sharing!
It is not designed to put clear through. Actually in the tank video i did what you just mentioned... if you look close you can see the flakes stuck to the mini and my fingers... I finished the vid and it still worked fine, as you can see.
Nice is it possible to use the clear in the spray can then shoot the flake dry over it? Or do u have to shoot the clear through the gun with flake at the same time to apply the flake ?
Actually I developed an insert for TCP for the S-62 brush. they are a dist of ours and you can purchase both of the inserts for the brushes you mentioned.
Hey there Gentlemen- just had to check in on the progress on this little monster! Are we getting closer to marketing? Keep me in mind- thanks for your great stuff!
@drummerbuzz Hey thanks a million! It's very rare that someone actually notices the effort in development for product design. It took hundreds of hours at work and both at home to develop the Mini. Even as far as jotting down sketches in bed so I could take it to work in the morning lol. My main goal was to make it so simple that basically anyone with elementry skills could use it and end up with professional results. As far as Airbrush Action is concerned... you will see it soon. Thanks!
@drummerbuzz when I get all this sorted out You will be one of the first people to get your hands on this! Thanks for all the great comments and support!
That is great! I can just see ya in bed with a spiral notebook and a sharpie-I've done the same kind of thing. Ya never know when that burst of genius will strike. You truly knocked this one outta the park!I will be camping in your parking lot in a tent waiting to get #2 when it's available, since you allowed that little punk Styles to run around with prototype #1. He was actually a great advocate to unleash with it, he made sure everyone who was interested got the time to try it out,-great guy
Let me get this straight, you cay it's a lot of money for what it is when you don't know what it is? or how much it costs? Actually it's a Billet 6061 cap and a nylon insert that allows you to spray double the size bass boat metalflake with an airbrush., dry. with regards to the price all total is under $120.00 but you can probably find it cheaper. It took me around 6 months to develop and is a great tool for anyone that wants to spray metalflake using their existing airbrush equip.
So i picked up a mini flake buster. I shot the 2k clear from the aerosol can the. Shot my flake. Idk if I was doin something wrong but at the end I had a huge pile of flake. N it seemed like I was loosing more flake than Applying. Any pointers
Will this fit on any airbrush? Ive been doing airbrush work off and on for about 15 years and im thinking of going full bore into cutomizing bikes and helmets and this looks like an amazing tool with minimal cost. I use around 14 Master airbrushes for workhorses and an Iwata eclipse for finer work. It wouldnt be a problem to dedicate a couple of the master airbrushes for flaking if they are compatible.
hi im haveing a problem with my mini flake buster what is the maximum size flake you can shot through it im trying to shoot 400 micron but not haveing any success and what air pressure should it be set at when shooting thanks
Hi. How is the pulling of the fine line tape cutting the flake? I know you will need a lot of clear to burry the tape line. But I was wondering how crisp is the line? Thanks
oh, ok well Im not sure what your comparing the 2k to but as far as thickness is concerned, it all depends on how much resin (solids) are in the clears. Most "speed" clears or "production clears" have less solids which will make them thinner. It really (for the most part) doesnt matter how thick it is because you still have to reduce to make it sprayable... (again for the most part) but...the higher the solids means the less solvents that have to leech out during flach times. HTH
I gotcha now. You using a micro flake. You should put it out in the sun and let it shine. I'm on my mobile but ill check the video out later this evening
Ive used the older FBs,I dont think I would like the mini. Most of my stuff is complete cars or trucks but anyway I think you have a great tool for flake
i have a question,, can you also get the flakes on your painting without the flake buster? because its too expensive for me and is it a nice result without?
YES you should ALWAYS wear breathing protection, NEVER use solvent based paints without it. Check for the correct airmask NIMOSH for the application before use.
Case Mods, you might want to see if the Tamaya paint has UV protection before you mount to something that will be exposed to the sun...or it will fade. But I guess for $5.00 you can just strip it all off and do it all over again if that happens.
what do you mean by "that stuff"? I was using a NIMOSH mask for iso's the booth had really good flow and allowed me to not have to use an air supplied hood that I always wear.
First off let me just say that the flakes I used are .015 which is .010 smaller than Bass Boat .025 (which is what Ranger uses) the reason I used so large of flake -JUST FLAKE- is because doing SOLID flake is not an easy process, let alone doing it with an air brush. You cant find any flake in a can that large let alone without a paint mixed with it. By the way this was my first time even using it, so for anyone with skills the result would be WAY better. and you can switch to prarls on the fly.
uh, the whole idea is to do it with an airbrush, you cant haul your shop compressor everywhere, with the mini all you need is an airbrush and an airbrush compressor., which is much smaller and portable... that's why
Ah ok that is what it's called. Ok. I couldn't put a word on it but what you did just looks cheap to me. Like you sprayed glitter on it or something, lol... And if you look up those pics you can see it in the sun :D
You understand that youre saying it like this is my video and its not. Im not painting this tank or spraying it with glitter. I do know a little about flakes but gain, this isnt my video
Your video inspires me to do that. Thank you for showing us great technique without loud music accompanying the video.

I have the bigger version of the flake buster and I love it. Its much faster and uses less material to get the job done. Worth every penny
No worries, a full or mini size gun would be quicker for sure but some people don't have those tools, so if the person only has an airbrush they can still achieve the same results with only one tool. you can actually write your name in clear with an airbrush and spray dry pearls over the wet clear and have a pretty kool ghost sig. effect.

That's an awesome paint job. I did some paint jobs but nothing like that, I want to learn how to do some paint jobs like that.
to be honest its true, i suggest to mix with small amount of flakes on the clear coat, so that the green flakes will just make an effect when light hits the paint it will shine the green color, because its look like the flakes become a base coat cause its too many....

Awesome work where can I find that bottle using the flakes very nice device to. Add to my existing airbrush 👍🏾🎯🎯

Looks like I might be buying this kit for some projects. A good starting point for an amateur? I would be applying to MC tins, and possibly guitars.

Thanks!
@drummerbuzz well we are in the process of getting these to market, And THANKS!
It was a TON of work to develop this product
I checked that stuff out , it looks way thicker than what your using
I tried to do something like this with my airbrush, could never get it right though..can't wait till this is available!!
With so much clear, don't you get dripping? If you do how to avoid or repair?
@drummerbuzz when I get all this sorted out You will be one of the first people to get your hands on this!
Thanks for all the great comments and support!

thanks! but this tool is soley for spraying dry. you cant mix the flakes in the bottle because the nozzle on the brush is still too small
I love the product I'll be purchasing one soon. Could you tell me what size flakes you were using in the video?
Let me get this straight, you cay it's a lot of money for what it is when you don't know what it is? or how much it costs?

Muy guapo el trabajo!
How and where can I purchase this dry flake attachment ? thanks

Hi. How is the pulling of the fine line tape cutting the flake? I know you will need a lot of clear to burry the tape line. But I was wondering how crisp is the line? Thanks
@Tommytat2 I developed it myself, I was using 5 star X-Treme.
Thanks!
Where can we buy this flake gun
We need many

Wow beautiful
Where can i buy that attachment to spray flake
I gotcha now. You using a micro flake. You should put it out in the sun and let it shine. I'm on my mobile but ill check the video out later this evening
hello ! what is the transparent base you used? ...thanks
is it possible to do a flame on a car that looks like its moving like in a ghost flame and would 3d add to the effect
@natealb I was using an Iwata Eclipse HP-BCS
what is the clear stuff you are spraying and what air pressure are you using
When and where can i purchase this little gem? Cant see it on your web site.
Wow- does that clear really dry THAT fast?
Ive used the older FBs,I dont think I would like the mini. Most of my stuff is complete cars or trucks but anyway I think you have a great tool for flake

Hello my friend, how much does that Mini flakebuster cost and where to get one?
Awesome product, just found out about it. Maybe it was there, but I didn't see a psi. (I only have had one cup of coffee)
so - silly question, but the 2k clear is used to 'set' the metalflake onto the base coat?
then the whole thing is just cleared?
looks cool ;)
Do we have the badger inserts yet?
I'm sorry I meant the 2k , it come in a paint jar , aren't they thicker ?
@drummerbuzz Yeah, we are getting closer... FINALLY
ist been a loooooooooong road but we're finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel
what do you mean by "that stuff"?
I was using a NIMOSH mask for iso's the booth had really good flow and allowed me to not have to use an air supplied hood that I always wear.
So awesome bro , I want to get into this kinda work so bad .
did u use clear for the flake to stick on the tank?
But still think the gun would have given you a more consistant pattern for the flake.
Actually im not sure, just the nozzle that came on the brush.
try reducing more for viscocity
Can you regulate the amount of flake that comes out so it's not so dense?
What shade green flake was the first one you sprayed on?
hey i have a question, could i still use an Iwata N4500 NEO Gravity Feed?
Looks good!!!
what of nozzle did you use :) ? I have a problem to spray 2K with airbrush 0.3 nozzle
Should I wait until it dries to remove the masking tape? If so, how long would you recommend?
First off let me just say that the flakes I used are .015 which is .010 smaller than Bass Boat .025 (which is what Ranger uses) the reason I used so large of flake -JUST FLAKE- is because doing SOLID flake is not an easy process, let alone doing it with an air brush. Its called mini flake buster....do you have the badger inserts yet?
its the reflection on your monitor
What air brush are you using?
will this work on wood
What kind is the 2k ? W
so the trick is to keep adding the clear coat to get the flakes to keep sticking correct?
yes... if you slow down the clear flash time you wont have to keep adding clear.
Actually I just made some for Badger and TCP will have one for one of their brushes
uh, the whole idea is to do it with an airbrush, you cant haul your shop compressor everywhere, with the mini all you need is an airbrush and an airbrush compressor., which is much smaller and portable... that's why
nice work bro...more videos pleeeeeese.
What brand of 2k are you using?
How do I go about getting 1?
someone know the name of the fixture to apply the metal flake thanks!
its 2k extreme (5star) clear and im spraying it at around 30psi
What is the problem?
Maybe you should try to contact us before leaving neg comments.
We are here to help
hello, is already selling this product?? è interessante
More need to know where to get it and what its called that thing in genius
Your invention?
Sucks that its only for the iwata ab's!
Is it really toxic ? Would I need to wear a face mask?
Of course you should. He got caught not wearing a mask then deleted the comments. He'll probably delete this as well.
I was using 5 star extreme
which is the clear liquid
Thats exactly what you do
Why don't you put sound to your video??
why don't you add a direct link to this product in the description box if you are selling it ? You'll make more sales.

Sorry boss. I didnt see how yours came out better than this one. Its nice, dont get me wrong, but in the video it looks solid green :(
Ah ok that is what it's called. Ok. I couldn't put a word on it but what you did just looks cheap to me. Like you sprayed glitter on it or something, lol...
And if you look up those pics you can see it in the sun :D
Should have used two airbrushes...!!!
good
How can I by this paint gun help me I am in Srilanka
You understand that youre saying it like this is my video and its not. Im not painting this tank or spraying it with glitter. I do know a little about flakes but gain, this isnt my video
google "west coast hogs california chopper" mine is the green one. the flake on yours is too emphasized IMO. mine is more subtle.
Ah got it. Sorry didn't mean to sound rude. Figured you were out of a shop.
I remember my first time
good
why did you use an airbrush and not just a regular paint gun. lol kinda of a waste of time messing with that.
