Forukoruru would be such a perfect monster for wilds the changing weathers could change what flowers are blooming giving it new/different flowers to get buffs from as the weather changes
Espinas btw wasn't the only thing from Frontier in Sunbreak, we also got: -Many armor sets (Dusk, Alice, Shui, Asuru, Reflet, etc) -Armor/Rampage Skills (Foray, Reflect, Furious, etc) -Styles (Switch Skills are do it yourself styles) -a ton of Monster got attacks from Frontier as example Lucent Nargacuga poison rain and Silver Rathalos meteor attack -Followers (basically the Rastas from Frontier) -You can get the Frontier Ducks as decoration for your house -both endgames Sunbreak and Frontier focus on parrys/guard point, with most monsters haveing one hit AOE attacks.
Btw, Guanzorumu and Shantien's fights in pre G are just previews, you've seen about 20% of what each can do. Their G rank fights are genuine works of art imo

I can't believe you neglected to mention that Bat Espinas is the only monster in the entire franchise to use the "Dark" Element. He's the counterpart to Laser Rathalos with the Light element.
idk if anyone else said this yet, but that Abomination you were intoduced to at start of Grank wasn't stock Eruzerion, It was the Musou Version. Those things are a whole other can of worms but in simple terms, they're the Endgame of Endgame(where defense means Zilch), but even amoung them Musou Eruzerion is Something Else
The road to frontier is such an experience. G Rank really picks up the pace and the Zeniths are totally something to look out for. Disufiroa is one fight to try too besides Duremudira
Gold and Silver Plesioth was one of my favourite fights back when I played on official. I really liked their combination attacks and it felt really fair.
Farunokku is FANTASTIC it does a lil dance and has SO MUCH personality it’s like qurupeco on crack and it even poses! I love it. The fact you called it hypnocatrice with a weird haircut is a huge disservice
my god you are a pretty dedicater hunter, me an old asian veteran, i played at Taiwan Server last time, having the community, guild and plenty of the weekly event really helps the games experience alot, you on the other hand needs to play it without much support ( except from the local community) and all the way up to the game is a real test of patient. And further more compiling to an VID, it truely brings back all the memory that i had, all the guild friend, all the special event, the NPC at another zone is for Laviente, so i guess sadly for you , no chance to try it.
Funny thing about the last monster you fought, Eruzerion. They did a crossover with PSO2 and you could fight that thing in there. One of the hardest fights in the game.

Played the free cap back in the day and few more months thanks to a friend helping me to pay the monthly fees. It's really one of my favorite entries due to how much bs it throws at you and as someone who started with the first game around 2005, this whole "tribal" aesthetic goes so hard for me and I miss it when they ditched it in the 3rd gen. @@Giffsen in fact I’d argue Tri and 3U have a stronger tribal aesthetic than the first two gens. Especially Gen 1. Imo they have more of a medieval aesthetic. Tribal undertones for sure, but 3rd gen is when it became full fledged tribal.
if you're curious: flaming espinas has so many different names because the Japanese versions of Flaming and White espinas are just espinas subspecies and espinas rare species respectively. More recent translations have changed most mentions of flaming to its official name (flaming espinas), but the translation teams for these games are incredibly small and often dont have the resources to make a change like that immediately

I solo'd to G Rank once. Convinced my friend to try it. He gave up when we had to kill like 8 Burst Species to move on. That was like 2 years ago, I can't wait to go back to this game in 2 more years and have the same issue

I really hope they come out with another monster hunter mmo. Frontier had so many unique monsters, mechanics, and weapons and I'd absolutely love a chance to play a version with updated graphics and better translation
In case nobody else commented, Espinas has low hitzones when not enraged, so you have to hit it in its abdomen. Once it does enrage, you can hit it pretty much where ever. Personally Rise Espinas left me with a lot of disappointments, though, but I understand an argument that Capcom wanted to "mainstream" the monster for a wider audience by removing its gimmicks. Surely, in Rise, we have higher sharpness at that point + they did increase Espinas' hitzones while neutral, and half the time it isn't sleeping (I have never seen an Afflicted Espinas start sleeping) The hazard Flaming Espinas is pretty based, though
Great vid showing off frontier. HR 5-7 are tough cause the level squish from 1-999 into 1-7 does not accurately portray some monsters difficulty. The game is so good, definitely recommend doing Zeniths! Also my favorite Frontier mon is probably Guanzorumu
I didn't have anyone else to help me with HR6. I was the server, hosting locally. HR5 took me everything I had, but HR6 broke me and I used the Halk Potions. I did manage to repel the gold and silver fish and the Unknown without it though. Speaking of, that's one of my favorite fights because it slowly boils you like a frog. The black Rathian starts pretty tame but over the course of the fight it gets enraged. Instead of calming down after, it gets enraged again. Throughout the fight it goes through I believe six stages of rage, getting stronger, faster, and new moves each time. It was a thrill.

Aw, shame you didn't get to Mi Ru. That thing's a shapeshifter and is basically every pseudowyvern fight crammed into one monster. It keeps alternating between different modes (and it has like 6 or 7 of them too) that change it's attack patterns and behavior. In one moment you are fighting a Nargacuga like speedster, few seconds later you are fighting a slow, heavy hitting brawler.
2 things that would be sweet to bring back: the wild Magnet weapon that lets you fly(?), and the Fire/Ice Zinogre boy. As a bonus super Diablos is awesome!
I would recommend NPC companions as it will ease the difficulty. Watching this video made me realize how much harder it can be solo, which is what I did initially and it made me take lots of breaks. So if youre doing that its always good to look for new options such as halk potions and rastas to assist you in hunts.

MHFZZ is an interesting game. I started playing on Doom server on PS Vita. And yep, there's a lot of crazy monsters that doing crazy stuff.

I would recommend NPC companions as it will ease the difficulty. Watching this video made me realize how much harder it can be solo, which is what I did initially and it made me take lots of breaks. So if youre doing that its always good to look for new options such as halk potions and rastas to assist you in hunts.
