Re: Charlie diminishing his trauma to being bullied at 14 and having one toxic ex-boyfriend-I also believe Charlie’s mum passed some of the control and invalidation from her own mum down to him, which is why Tao says during season one that Charlie’s had low self-esteem since they first met in year seven (years before being outed and bullied), and that that fed into him staying with Ben as long as he did.
13:25 OH ABSOLUTELY, I think back to my own crushes in highschool and the more I think about it, the more I conclude what I loved about them was the things that I didn't have (self-confidence, for example). But with today's eyes, we probably had NOTHING in common. The weird thing (for me) about liking somebody of the same sex is that you're not sure if you want to be them or be with them. At least that's been my experience in the past. I found myself nodding at your reflection, as usual -- thanks for helping me voice the ideas that live shapeless in my mind sometimes.
I wish they’d spent more time on this scene, in the comic and books it’s made clear that Charlie is having a bad brain day, Nick is feeling impatient, and *both* Nick and Charlie lash out at each other during this argument. We see a second of that here with Nick telling Charlie he’s “not even trying” to eat, which would have been quite hurtful to Charlie, but it happens so fast it seems like most reactors miss it and see Charlie’s frustration as totally one sided.
Love your reaction! And agree about adolescence, BUT happened to marry my high school sweetheart; met at 17 and married at 40 (no other major relationships in between) - but get we're not the norm 😂
While I do agree in general about your statements around Imogen and Sahar, I don't feel like it's their case. They like each other in a "i want to date you" level, but they have been best friends since they were very little and they're telling themselves they'd be awful together so they can avoid those feelings to "salvage the friendship". WHICH IS SILLY, JUST KISS!!!!!!!!
I have the same cringe about Nick and Charlie getting intimate, it's like I'm watching younger brothers (although not quite, because then they would be brothers too and that's weird).

4:20 I agree. That's not Charlie talking. That's his mental illness speaking up.

Fun fact the meow wasn’t scripted the scene was supposed to be over and that was purely the actors being their silly little self’s
And apparently Imogens is this sustainable I’m trying to do my bit was also not in the script
For the algorithm ♥️
I wish I saw this show when I was a teen and struggling with coming out and dealing with all my issues.
With wicked coming out recently and my binge of fellow travelers and Bridgerton Jonathan Bailey is following me !!!!!
I’m not mad tho
❤️"meow"❤
