Ann, you are an excellent instructor. I learn so much from your videos. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these high-quality videos. Your talent, experience and knowledge are obvious and you are inspiring hobby-potters like me!
You can use cup handle tool to make 🎀 bows and ribbons for your bowls to make them feminin.Little birds and butterflies and bumblebees you have to make a small mold and slip to ribbons and edge of bowls.I wonder if you can make hole and dowels on outside of edges of bowl rib and hang fork of spoon on them or milkshake spoon handle taller cup?
Haha!!! You noticed!! lot of times Jim adds a little something extra to the end of the video and sees if anyone notices. I think you are the first one to say anything. You are awesome!!!
Thanks so much. That one is really cool. Flattening the sides was a last minute idea too. You could leave the sides round or flatten them ....actually you could go even farther with the altering or cut down into the sides....lots of possibilities, right. 🙂
I wish there was a way for people add pictures of their own altered rim bowls on here. It would be a great discussion as well as a lot of fun and I could meet others like you who are creative. 🙂
The trick is to go over the pinched areas with a wet finger to eliminate cracks. You will see me do that a lot in the video. Also alter right after you throw it. Good luck!!
Enjoyed your kiln opening immensely. You make me smile. Like you I’m a potter, sculptor. Hand builder. I live in the UK. Mayco are my favourite Choice glaze as well. Hopefully it won’t be long before Potclays, Potterycrsfts, Scarva etc., have their stocks back to normal. Are you on instagram? Keep going your are doing amazingly well.
Nice to meet you Susan. I am in the US and we are having problems with supplies as well. Fingers crossed that that that gets back to normal soon. I am on Insta--Little Street Pottery but I dont do a lot of posting there. Cheers to you
Hi Ann, I’m still a beginner and wondering when you’re doing the rim adjustments. So far I have done them immediately after throwing and it has worked. Your clay looks somewhat drier than that.
I try and do all the rim adjustments before it dries to leather hard. Clay has a memory so the sooner you can shape it, the better. Make sure your not using too much water when throwing so the clay does not slump while your are trying to shape it. Best of luck to you Carol!
hi Linda! I trimmed all of these bowls and did not have any problems with any of them. They all sat pretty level really. I know what you mean about altering the rim and not being able to get the bowl centered and straight for the trimming, but it didnt happen with these particular alterations perhaps because I altered all sides of the bowl evenly and symmetrically. Give them a try and see. 🙂
Hi Ann. Thanks for responding. The altered rims in my pots threw the pots off center too much. I did us a Griffin Grip, a three way level, wedges of clay and coils to even, center and secure the pots.
Hi Natalie! I tried to write you a note yesterday, but I dont see it here in the comments on my computer. I have a great facebook pottery group called Pottery Studio. We would love to have you join and share your work 🙂
When I run out of ideas, I come and watch Ann's magic hands! :-)😁Appreciate lots!

You are awesome❣️ Just love seeing what you come up with next!
Great, easy , fun things to try!
Love the tri-fold design! So simple!
Love the one at 4:50. Thank you, Anne.

@@annruel1982 Yes. And I am sure you will show us more.....You have a wandering mind. It takes one to know one.

@@annruel1982 Why not post abuit the vid in clay buddies? I could show you a pic of my ruined pin wheel gone candleholder ;o)
awesome...thank you
Love the video. I hand build and my clay is not as “plastic” and makes it more prone to cracking when I try this pinching technique.

Would you do a demo on trimming an altered rim pot?
Thanks Linda...we will put that on the list!

@@LittleStreetPottery Thanks for the confirmation. I love all your ideas!
How do you trim altered trim pot? Altered rim pots do not sit level.

@@lindatortorice9356 Wow, great ideas, but I can see how that would be discouraging to try that again, right.
