As a Nigerian and fellow Igbo man, Kanu’s technical brilliance will always have a place in my heart. But gosh he would struggle with the pace of the modern game😅
He played in the supposed fastest league in the world and thrived. He won titles as well as personal honours. Why are you making it look like he played some 30 years ago??
Just 2008 here he won the biggest trophy (FA cup) for his then club Portsmouth. He scored the winner both in the FA cup semi finals and the Finals.
He has never been blessed with huge pace but his mesmerizing skills,close ball control, vision and great passing skills ,dribbling are his major strong point..
A prime King Kanu would thrive during any era he finds himself.
Giroud has 12/100 pace and has had a very good career

@@chuka6625 prime Ramsey is just Ramsey. He scored 16 goals and 5 assists in his only injury free season. 15 goals and 8 assists last year for Milan without prime ozil and prime Alexis. Not elite numbers but he def didn’t “struggle with the pace of the modern game”
@@Playboyy1985 ok let me actually qualify my comment, I didn’t mean that Kanu’s literal sprint pace alone is too slow, I mean his decision making, reaction time, intensity etc.. there are relatively slow paced players like Kane, Dzeko, Giroud that thrived in the modern game so sprint pace isn’t everything. But Kanu literally slowed down the pace of the game each time he received the ball. One of his biggest criticisms is that he didn’t think quick enough and needed a few more milliseconds on the ball to make decisions. You can’t say the same about the other players I just mentioned. Giroud’s excellent holdup and one-touch play is the reason he has played for France all these years.

Idk the name of the skill move ( something like a drag type) , it's Kanu's main signature move. He did this thing really well. I love such skill of space creating and making goalscoring opportunities from him 😌😌

Kanu as been the greatest African footballer ever, he was better than Jay Jay and I haven't seen anyone as good as him again, he was the African Messi and Pele together, he didn't have the speed, athletic, or shot power like every other player, but he had one thing he knew how to do best just like Messi, he sees 3 steps ahead of others, his quick thinking can fool any defender, that he makes football look so easy, people say Jay Jay is the best Nigerian player but they are all wrong, kanu was a genius on the pitch, Jay Jay had the flair and the skills but kanu had it all including brain, Jay Jay was master of dribble and skills, but kanu was something else, I still rate kanu ahead of Henry, only problem I had was that kanu came late into the arsenal team, if he come early into the arsenal team, he would have become a legend better than henry. Taking a young Ajax club to win the champions league, inter to win European trophy, and doing great to at arsenal, to me he is the best African player I have ever watched played, I started watching football since the days of Roger Miller, but kanu is best I have seen so far, Etoo is the second best then salah followed by Jay Jay and weah with Roger Miller coming last.
