The Stray Cats (Brian Setzer on guitar and vocals, and his mates on a slapping bass and a simple drum kit) had hits early eighties. Later he formed the orchestra. Another must do hit song by the Stray Cats is the Stray Cat Strut. This is really feel good rockabilly music.

Way back in the 1980s, I was playing with my band in a club in Massapequa, NY, called Heckle & Jeckles , and in walks Brian Setzer. Back then he was in a great band called the "Stray Cats." Even at that young age, he was just about the best rockabilly guitarist on the planet. Later on he played with Robert Plant and now his own orchestra. He seemed like a very good guy. He was recommended to see our band by his brother who had been at an earlier show of ours. This was such an honor.

I have seen Brian Setzer and Orchestra two times. They used to do a Christmas tour and they were always terrific. And yes, people would show up in 50's period costumes and dance in front of the stage.

Fantastic reaction! Brian Setzer first released this song in 1981 with his band, The Stray Cats. The were a great rockabilly-revival group! A song that was original to the Brian Setzer Orchestra that I would recommend for you is "Let's Live it Up". Great song!

Late hours in the early 80s, you could say I was barhopping through a local university strip. Live rockabilly music could be heard rocking from the open doors of a game hall full of pinging pinball machines and primitive video games. Making my way to the back room and source of the music, I was surprised that less than a dozen people were listening to the throw back stylings and homage to the 50s rockabilly heroes. Basic big guitar, snare, and spinning upright bass, they were having a fun time despite the sparse audience. Oh, free to get in. Tip the hat.
Only a few weeks later the Stray Cats had 2 MTV hits and were back playing a sold out 1600 seat concert hall. Great shows, both times.

MAN - I must be behind - ANOTHER one I missed from you-guys!! LOVE THIS BAND!!! This song was actually one of the songs the Stray Cats original recorded...and, he's playing it with his orchestra, at a later date.... As others have mentioned: Brian Setzer was in the Stray Cats - loved their song Stray Cat Strut....but, his Orchestra - SUCH GREAT SWING-BAND SOUND!! ANY song by the BSO was GREAT, as far as I'm concerned! LOVE THIS SOUND!! SO much FUN!!! :)

Missed a chance to see him in Montreal at the jazz fest in the 90's. That night i went to a concert featuring B. B. King with Buddy Guy with my dad + brother. I did get to see this full concert on PBS at a later date. B. B. and Buddy were amazing, but had we chosen Brian we would have been just as satisfied.

This was at the Montreal Jazz Festival. I didn't see this show but I've been to that festival dozens of times and it's fantastic. 300 free outside events alone of bands you have never heard of and some of the biggest names in jazz at the main outside stage, then there's the ticketed events. Fantastic festival!!!!!

I loved Stray Cats, the first time I heard them. Brian Setzer really owns his own sound. Class act, and I really love watching the two of you get excited about hearing something new that sounds good. Good music won’t be forgotten by younger generations, especially with people as yourselves doing these reactions. From the Mark Twain’s boyhood hometown, Hannibal Missouri, thank You

🇬🇧 Lead singer was in a band in the 80s & had a hit with this song in 1981. They were called The Stray Cats. Please please please listen & watch that version, maybe from a "Top Of The Pops" (A chart show that was on in the UK for many a year). I would love it if you reacted to it on here. But even if you saw it by yourselves, then gave us your opinion in one of your other videos. ❤ 🎼

I would suggest watching Brian Setzer with his old band Stray Cats performing their hits 'Rumble in Brighton', 'Ubangi Stomp', 'Stary Cat Strut' and many more live in London rather then his big-band-adventures, which in my view doesn't do their old work justice. I'll place the links in the comments.

Still making people happy, still having fun. More than most people can say. A lot of us who were around back in the day like to occasionally revisit those performances, and those who weren't now have the opportunity to discover them. Would you prefer they just be forgotten? What about House of Pain "Jump Around" or Ram Jam "Black Betty" - or dozens of others who have come and gone, but left a bit of a legacy?
