For your slipover, purchase more of the Nepal and kid-silk, take the binding off the arm holes, and frog back. Pick up stitches around each arm hole and knit actual sleeves in the style of your choice. Then you will have a winter sweater that will suit your climate and you will wear it because you love the colour and style. Cheers-Laura
Good idea! A bit afraid the dye lots would be too different, but I think I have to do some sort of surgery to make the fit better for me!
I was thinking maybe trying to shorten the body and do a split hem first, to see if I like it better then.
But I'm definitely keeping the color in mind
That’s what I was thinking too. I love slip overs too, but I think they look better on everyone but me!
Yes, all the pretty pictures on Instagram tricked me😂
Sometimes I got a very cold back and throw over a slipover just until I am warm again. So a Slipover is not for wearing the hole day, but very precious for me.
That's so smart! I think I'll keep this slipover, just in case I'll ever need it! But I think one slipover is enough for me.
I wasn’t able to tell where the mistake was until you pointed it out, and even then it’s easy to miss. Don’t sweat it!
Thank you! I really didn't want to frog😅
No, the mistake in your sweater is not noticeable. Don't stress yourself about it. Your knitting is lovely and the amount of knitted items you produce is amazing. Great work....
Thank you!! I'm glad it's not noticeable, that was what I was hoping for!
Your Violetta is looking so lovely! I would have never noticed the mistake that you mentioned if you had not pointed it out. Maybe when thinking about small projects, make a few Christmas ornaments. Once you start on your wedding dress, there won't be time or desire for other things I think. Lol
Thank you so much🥰 I'm so happy the mistake isn't noticeable, I really didn't want to go back and fix it😅
Starting making Christmas ornaments is a good idea! I hope if I start knitting my wedding dress this month that I'll have time to play around with other projects too🤞🏻
Hi Oline, I just love your Weekend Slipover! I want to make more slipovers myself, although you are right that it’s harder to find times to wear them - maybe very early Spring or later Fall? The Violeta is stunning, and I really couldn’t see your mistake even when you pointed it out close to the camera! Beautiful job. Can’t wait to see how your new slippers turn out.
Hi! I love the slipover, too! Early spring/late fall is probably a good time to use it!
Thank you!! I'm so glad you couldn't see the mistake, I really didn't want to go back and fix it😅
I'm so excited for my new slippers, and scared to repeat my mistake🥵
I have two of the weekend v-neck slipovers and wear them with tight fitting long sleeve v-neck or scoop neck shirts. Mine are more oversized and the shoulders come further down my arm though. If you can't get comfortable with yours I like the suggestion of switching to full length arms.
I'm going to try to play around with the slipover a bit, and if I still don't quite like it, I'll probably add sleeves!
I really love the fit of the Melange sweater and I also made a matching set for me and my daughter. Now that you've mentioned making one for your fiancee I started to seriously consider making it for my husband )) And I did not notice the mistake you made on the Violetta at all. Keep going! 🥰
The fit is soo good! You should totally make your husband one🤩
I'm glad you didn't see it, because I really don't want to frog😅
I really love that slipover. The fabric is beautiful and the colour suits you so so well. A pity it's not a garment you reach for.
Hugs/klem fra Sverige
That's exactly how I feel! I live everything about it, but slipovers are just not something I reach for.
I think a sweater it the same yarn is in my future thought, I'm craving a thick warm sweater!
Your necklines are all superlative! I am paying close attention as I start to knit sweaters . Have a SQ (Sweater Quantity) of Knitting for Olive merino and mohair and I am eager to go! I do love your beautiful slipover atop your turtleneck and hope that now you have modeled it here you might have some new ideas for it. Looks great despite all of the complex considerations for its practicality. Now that I am watching on, that blush pink color is such a flattering choice and the cables and lace really sing on you in this perfect colorway. The mistake in lace you pointed out was completely unnoticeable to me until you spotlighted it - I don't think you would need to go back to fix it. All I see is beauty.
Thank you!
A sweater in KFO yarn is so luxurious🤩 I hope I'll finally figure out how to get more use out of my slipover now!
The pink is so perfect😍 Exactly how I wanted it to turn out. I'm so happy you can't see the mistake, I really don't want to frog😅
Your welcome for the cable save ❤😂 shame I didn’t do mine quicker, I counted my ladders back 100 row to fix mine 😢and at least 16 hours of frustration 😂😂
Thank you so much for that! I can't even imagine laddering down that far, and making sure all of the cables line up🥵
That violeta pullover is so lovely 🥰. Btw in which size are you knitting the melange sweater. I thought it is only available in kid sizes and men’s sizes.
Thank you so much! There is a female version of the Melange sweater, I'm knitting the M size🥰
your Violetta looks gorgeous. also your melange - great colour for you! No I couldn't see where your 'mistake" is. Thank goodness black is not something that suits either myself nor others I knit for - sounds like a true mission!🙃
Thank you!! The colors in the Melange are my go-to colors, buy I'm trying to branch out with the Violeta🥰
I'm so happy you couldn't see the mistake, I really didn't want to go back and fix it😅
I've knit 2 black adult sized garments this winter, I need a break from black now😂
Now this may not help but I mostly wore slipovers at the stables, outdoor, when I moved a lot. Either on top of fleece jackets or something else breathable, it being a vest helped with not sweating.
Thanks for the tip!
I knit of agree with th slip over I love them but my arms get colder then the rest of me so I don't use thrm
🤩🤩
❤️❤️
Maybe you could wear your slip over over a dress or blouse?
Good idea!
LIKE 👍👍👍 👍👍 💯💢 💯💢💯🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
You don''t need to fix your mistake in the Violetta sweater. Even when you point it out, it's hard to see.
Thank you!! That was what I hoped for😅
The mistake isn't noticeable. Please don't pull it back!
I'm not going to!
It sucked 😂
I can only imagine🥵
@@norwegianknitter I didn’t do the cable under the arm, do you think I should? I left it out because I didn’t want pilling on the cable from arm rub but I kind of having thoughts about it now because the ribbing is going to start and there will be no way back 😂
@sarahjaneexton151 I feel like the underarm cable has pros and cons😅 I have the underarm cable, I like that it makes the whole side of the sweater continuous with the same cables, but when wearing it, you probably can't tell because the sleeve would be in the way. It would also probably pill more.
@@norwegianknitter yes a saw your under arm that’s why I reconsidered, I love the symmetry and continuity but I’m not sure I want to ladder back again, nope 👎, I’m going to leave it up plain and start the ribbing, I have one final round of patterning to do I’m measuring 13.5 inch’s from armpit or there abouts, it’s a good length 10 full pattern
@@sarahjaneexton151 I'm so excited to see it when the body is finished🤩
I knit of agree with th slip over I love them but my arms get colder then the rest of me so I don't use them
Yes, I like them so much, but I just can't figure out how to like wearing them😅
