Everyone should appreciate the fact that Diana will continue to overshadow Charles for the rest of his life. His actions irrevocably undermined his mandate as king and despite waiting patiently for 72 years, he and Camilla will never be accepted.

Exactly right. I watched and followed the whole sorry story. Diana was a truly beautiful and charming woman - the perfect Princess. She had no chance against a settled in, long term mistress that her husband was obsessed with. Diana wanted to be a perfect wife, Princess and future Queen. Unfortunately, she had no chance with Charles. He loved another woman. She actually said something close to - “ we could have been a perfect team - he could have made speeches and I could have shaken hands until the cows came home”. How does a 19 year old, in love with her husband, cope with a husband who loves another woman and has to know they are scheming and plotting and having a wild affair? Charles’ cronies called her mad for objecting to it ????

I’m not sure although I loved Diana and her sons. Yet I look at some of the very forward thinking initiatives Charles undertook. In Scotland Charles undertook several projects where young people were able to learn how to be able to successfully participate in various roles in Great houses and hospitality. In another example the Princes Initiative saw Charles work with an architect to create an affordable economic community. This community was quite prosperous and successful. Yet British press continued to compare these very real accomplishments from Charles to more superficial interests from Diana’s friends.

The document where Diana was a nanny before marriage, according to the mother of the children, she was so caring and loving. She was a born mother not only to her children but to the world. She married a spoiled brat who was selfish and cruel to her.

The look in the horses eyes was what really got me because it wasn’t just the physical hurt of it, it was an emotional hurt, too. Charles screwed up, not the horse, and he couldn’t handle that.

I think everyone is dismissing how awful it must have been for Charles to be in love with a woman he could never marry..being forced to “ choose” quickly because he would become King, and time to settle down and beget heirs. Charles never tried at all, he was only abscessed with Camila from the word go and only wanted his Mistress Camila who he married straight after Dinas death/murder in the French Tunnel and then had her crowned as his Queen. Princess Diana was beautiful ,stunning, elegant and given a chance she would have not only been loving caring mum to her sons which she was but a soulmate/ twinflame for Charles too.He did not give her a chance to get to know her in the marriage as soon as he had the sons,he thought he had done his duty he left her to it as soon as Harry was born and buggered off to Camila and that’s how the marriage fell apart.
Princess Diana was in love with her husband from day one and accepted him to be her Prince Charming but that wasn’t for long.
Princess Diana would have made a beautiful and loving caring Queen and would have been so great beside him. Bulimia may have made her "prickly" but it did not make him a prick. He came by that all by himself! She wasn't perfect but he didn't try to properly love or care for her either. He was, as noted here, indifferent to her and let me tell you that is soul crushing to have to live with.....
That's not true. He was concered for her, and tried to get her help but she was ill and couldn't talk about her illness to doctors. He tried for a bit but like a lot of people would he gradually found it difficult and impossible to live iwht someone with mental problems... and gave up trying, leaving Diana to decide herself to go for treatment.
Poor woman was so insecure, going to drastic lengths to be desirable to stop her horrible husband straying, yet he is repulsive and didn't deserve her, prince or not. Okay, it's probably being in the public eye and constantly photographed, it must be immense pressure to be perfect all the time however, I just want to blame Charles!

However Diana's bulimia was probalby sparked off by the pressure of being in the public eye, being photrographed and looked at all the time and feeling the need to stay slim and beautiful. Bulimia is about control. Diana felt she had lost control of her life when she got engaged. Suddenly, her life was all about formal engagments and being seen by the press and public, so she tried to control something.. ie her weight. She has said that she started bulimia in her teens as a way of copying her sister Sarah. She often told different versions of things.

Can you imagine they didn't appreciate what she did for that stiff cold aloof family. She made the world fall in love w them to this day carried on by her son's. No conscience no apologies from anyone no regrets. Rest in peace little Princess you were loved. She did so much for so many no one came to save her help her.

My marriage was the same, so I felt Diana's distress quite deeply. We even slightly resembled them in appearance. I once stood close to her at a small event, she was tall and beautiful with amazingly bclear, unblemished and glowing skin. My husband constantly betrayed me with strings of women & others then after18 years, aged 50, he met the "love of his life" so he tried to destroy mine, hoping to leave me penniless to give all to her. She was also married so two sets of children were damaged. Poor Harry and William had to endure all that in the public eye, then tragically they lost her. Diana was very wronged. She did so much good, people loved her, such an outpouring of emotion at her funeral.
Lots of early footage of the royals messing around, enjoying a laugh because they kept things private does not mean they were a happy family ..
