The only way to do it better is a rack version with this complet EQ for the clean sound on the right and this complet EQ on the left for the distorted sound and in the middle, the master and blend knob *_*.
Send it to a power amp + cab and I'm sure the world will shake is ass off !!!

every setting is amazing in its own way lol
So to be clear, the differences between this and the B7K are:
1. ability to choose freq. for high and low mid EQ
2. ability to turn on and off distortion/drive, but leave the EQ active on the signal as a DI
3. master volume control for entire signal
Am I missing anything? Also does this still have the XLR output on the side and the bypass just turns the pedal off entirely correct? The light above it is signaling that the pedal is on?

well you might loose a tiny bit of volume but then again you can just adjust the master volume a bit and the loss wont be much if it even is noticable
You won't loose any. You might lose some though.
Much better than the B7K (which is what I bought), though a little to pricey for my budget.
when you compared the B7K to the Ultra, although theyhad the same exact settings, I noticed thatthe B7K had more saturation/sounded more distorted. was it just my impression or does the ultra really gets less saturated?
No the attack switch of ultra was in different position than the B7k and that makes less saturated than B7K. I think both sound same at same settings.

I was wondering, what's the difference between the 'master' knob and the 'level' knobs? I use the level knob as a volume adjustment for my b3k and b7k. On the ultra, do the 2 knobs control the volume/output of the drive and clean circuits separately? (just a friendly guess)

anybody know of a demo using a guitar?
If you are running a di box with an amp should you match the eq on the amp with the preamp or set the amp flat?
I mean eq’s are for adding or removing frequencies depending on the room or scenario so apply that as you will. Power amps shouldn’t have an eq. The eq is on the preamp. Dial the eq however necessary and on the di you can choose if you send the signal “Pre or Post”. Which means before the eq or after it. So sending your signal post eq means you’re sending the sound of the eq you’ve chosen to the board or interface or whatever you’re doing.
I love this pedal. I only have 1 question before I invest. Is it possible to adjust the amount of distortion without disrupting the original settings while in clean mode?

Are the 'grunt' and 'attack' switched active when the distortion switch is off?

Just picked this up along with some other pedals after not really playing much with pedals for a while. Trying to determine where this might go in the chain. I guess if you're using the Direct Out, you'd want it at the end, but don't they usually recommend overdrive be close to the front for better tracking? I probably won't need the direct out a lot of times... curious to see what sounds best with recording into a Scarlett 2i2: (1) Bass plugged directly into 2i2 input set to INST (2) B7K Ultra DI Out plugged into 2i2 set to INST (3) My bass amp Line output plugged into 2i2 input set to LINE. I've been using (3) over (1) but haven't tried with B7K in the mix yet.

Im sorry to say, but this is not an 'in depth' demo. Its only demonstrating sounds, but doesnt give any info at all! How about connecting to Darkglass Suite? How do I load a cab for the cab sim? Is it safe to connect to a mixer or interface that has phantom power enabled? Where can I find a signal flow schematic?
Basically anything that the manual forgot to cover. And thats quite a lot.
Anyone try this pedal with an Ibanez SR? I know they work with Dingwalls/Warwicks but I haven't seen a lot of anything else.
Janglin Dave Hollingworth from Dorje uses this pedal for pretty much everything with his SR, he has a few demos with darkglass stuff with rob chapman, rabea masaad and all them
