Hi, I have owned the Suzuki gsxs1000GT, I now have the Kawasaki 1000sx ninja , And your spot on the Kawasaki is a little more comfortable and more flickable, But the Suzuki does have the more powerful engine, and not as comfortable, and the brakes are not as good as the Kawasaki's , But I am glad I traded my Suzuki for the Kawasaki.
I’ve come to read how great my ninja is. The ninja was my dream bike but having owned the gsxs1000f it is probably the more fun engine and sound. I like the more conservative look of the ninja, just me getting older probably.
for sure , and even though i preferred the feel of the Suzuki, and the engine character, it was the lack these options that tipped the scales towards the Ninja.
I've owned 54 bikes over my last 50+ years of riding, my 23 N1K is my favorite bike of all time. The OEM touring windscreen is way better than the puig in my mind and a definite improvement over stock as well. I've lightened the bike by close to 10-12 lbs with a sergeant seat and removing unnecessary crap. Lost the ugly bazooka silencer as well with a nice carbon slip on. You chose wisely in my book for sure. Less vibration in the N1K is nice too. Mine now has 10,000 miles on it and I'm loving it! Just back from a 2000 mile Colorado and Utah trip last week. The OEM saddlebags were great too, haven't had that luxury since my 2001 goldwing and 2008 FJR, but got tired of overweight bikes. Your review is spot on and you hit all the reasons I like this bike. The Michelin Road 5's are a great add as well. The second favorite is my Z900RS cafe with an Akrapovic header and stock silencer with an Ivan's magical flash and michelin road 5's, which I still own. It now weighs in at 445lbs wet. But my ninja is still the fave. Reminds me of my 97 ZX11 that I put 78,000 miles on over many years of ownership. The N1K is just so much more comfortable for a day in the saddle!
thank you for detailed commentary! Some great suggestions there too. I’m definitely going get a different exhaust soon, and a seat is definitely on the list too! Good to know you are Sargent fan!
I am so torn on these two bikes, the slightly lower seat height is appealing on the GT but the SX definatly has a more refined feel. Both great bikes. It will be interesting to see how you get on. One thing that I keep thinking is, possibly the rawness of the Susuki and the more sporty engine will make the bike have more charcter in the end. Wish Honda would do something similar with an updated V4.
The challenge is real for sure. I am still second-guessing myself, but the brakes and the lack of sensitive IMU were what really got me. Speaking of Honda, i wish they would start giving us the Moto's @themissendenflyer and all his mates get in Europe, like the NT110O Twin... www.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/range/touring/nt1100/overview.html
I own the GT, my friend has the SX and I’ve ridden both a lot. SX- better brakes, suspension, tires, and smoother engine. GT- stronger top end, sounds better, quickshifter, TFT dash is better. The SX corners better but the GT is more stable at triple digit speeds. If your riding backroads and don’t rev out the bike get the sx. If your on the highway and like to rev it out, get the gt. Both are great, can’t go wrong
@@carterjoseph1475 This is useful thanks. Probably more back lane blasts with the odd longer trip at a weekend and commute riding. There is something about the GT, its just a tad less sensible than the SX perhaps.
Kinda torn between these 2 as well. The GT looks miles better that the SX imo but if I'm paying $15k out the door I want refinement. The buzzy engine and thin paint on the GT really got me leaning toward the SX (both complaints from testers and owners from what ive seen). I have an 04 FZ1 thats still butter smooth and I really wish Yamaha would make a bike like these because the Tracer GT is an adv bike in a scooby doo sport tourer mask. I want a comfortable R1 styled bike with bags.
Yes, the struggle is real, especially if you prefer to really feel engaged with the Moto while touring. I'd love to see Yamaha do a proper sport tourer with smaller disaplcement. Have you considered the FJR1300ES? I agree that the FZ1 is a total keeper btw. One of the best Motos ever to come from Yamaha in my opinion
@@KiwiMoto72 The FJR is kind of a boat and more tourer than sport. What's really a bummer is the new 1100 sx feels like a step backwards with an even worse paint scheme so I think I'll try for a leftover 24 sx next season. Love the GT's look but the ticking thing seems pretty widespread and I have ocd. My FZ1 checks all the boxes except proper luggage, that just happens to be a pretty big box at 43 yrs old.
MT-10 needs a proper 'touring version'. Theres always the SD1290GT which will give the most thrilling ride and has great fuel consumption, but are you ok with KTM and possible reliability issues.
@@brianjackson9801 yeah, i think the KTM reliability issues are grounded in circa 2022'ish issues they had with their crankshafts. I think that those issues are largely behind them from what i read. Re the MT-10. Yamaha just announced some nice changes to their 2025 line up which look promising!
I've owned all the Multis since they first launched, and I love them, but nothing beats how a proper fully faired sport touring bike feels in terms of the road feel it gives you. I hope my video was useful. I am totally new to this TH-cam thing. I also did a longer video on it here th-cam.com/video/ffBTnh8fW88/w-d-xo.html
@@MegaWebsters good feedback, thank you. I’d love to get more. Personally I don’t get too excited listening to people ride with nothing but wind noise, unless the undertones of the bike’s engines are clear and awesome. So I try and break it up. I actually just bought a great mic for recording engine burr so will try and cut back on the music in the future. please keep the feedback coming!
I have the Kawasaki 1000SX and I am super happy with it. I am sure you will enjoy the ride. Great decision. Stay safe, Sir.
I'll take the Kawasaki! Nice vid!
Mate - thx! I'll take that as a compliment coming from you Sir! thx you..

Gsxs was my choice. Love it. Dreamy.
congrats. It’s an awesome Moto. You can’t go wrong with either.
N1K sx....all the way! Traded in my C14 for the Ninja, no regrets.
Just bought a 2024 Ninja 1000SX
Great choice! congrats!
A 1000 Ninja was one of my dream bikes as a kid. You're rekindling that lust here!

Suzuli has not got cornering ABS, no 6 axis IMU

For the 1000SX, how hot is the engine heat - in the scale of 1-10?
@@hezrimustapha6906 super low. Like a 4 maybe
