I had never heard of or seen this island before, but just last night I dreamt about an island with an ancient village and its people. In my dream, there was a village where the people didn't wear slippers or clothes, and they had huge pots for cooking. It seemed like it was raining ice, and the village was either on top of a mountain or in a mountainous area - I'm not sure. I was shocked to discover that the Palau Island actually exists! I had thought it was just something from my dream. Now I'm searching more about Palau Island and just watched a video about it.
Fun fact: you can buy a digital Palau E-resident card for $249. In exchange you get a Palau identity card that you can fly domestically (USA) with and get discounts on Palau. Eventually they'll have more perks according to them.
Très intéressant, je ne connaissais pas cette histoire du bébé géant . Je serai curieux de connaître les us et coutumes avant l'ère chrétienne . Merci pour ces images et bien plus encore pour préserver ce monde intacte
The murders by the United States of Palau Presidents, Haruo Remeliik in 1985 and Lazarus Salii in 1988, are parts of Palau's history that the US has tried to bury. Their crimes as far as the US was concerned, was daring to challenge the US military presence in Micronesia. Several 'plebiscite' (referenda) conducted by the Remeliik Govt, were hugely supported by Palau's people. In response, the US assassinated Remeliik (with a false cover story claiming internal political divisions). The resistance against the US remained so strong among Palau's people in 1988, that the US murdered Palau's President Lazarus Salii. Again, a cover story was created. This time" 'suicide.' It was clearly a warning to Palau's people. Since that period, cowered under US pressure and the presence of corrupt politicians, Palau has been turned into a compliant basket case of US foreign policy. For example, each time the US sort support for the 'genocidal' State of Israel, Palau has been consistently, press-ganged into supporting US motions in the UN. So today, the popular images of Palau being a happy Pacific paradise under a draconian US military hegemony, hides a very dark secret, that craps on and submerges the noble act of defiance by Palau's people, against a US Empire that is dying under the weight of its own corruption.
Typical American subjugation and corruption - for Palau's sake keep those bastards out of your domain. Wherever the US goes it manages to f*ck things up. The US only makes its presence felt if they can gain some benefits.
Yes and yes!!!!!! Theres a reason why we dont here about it anymore especially in this generation or they dont teach us these things in Palauan History classes. Palau is a small country, and people talk, everyone are practically related in some ways so nothing stays hidden especially something this big. There are things that locals know but itll only be with them till they pass on. We know more than what’s posted on the internet.
@@Popocrepz, 'Kia ora' and thank you for replying to my comment that I posted a while back. I am an indigenous Maori from New Zealand, where we've prided ourselves on our anti-nuclear stand in the Pacific. However, I believe that the true honour should go to the people of Palau under the leadership of the great Haruo Remeliik and Lazarus Salii, who began the 'No Nukes' process 50-years ago. Because the US wants to turn the Pacific into a war zone because of the emergence of China, it is important for us to collectively expose its crimes against our 'Pasifika' people. So, all I can say is, be brave and spread the word by telling the World about the crimes the US has perpetrated against the people of Palau. Again, kia ora.
The origin of Palau people is shrouded in mystery....wha? Man originated in Africa and subsequently populated the planet. Not a mystery. Just hard for some to believe or accept.
Before there were people and land, there were only Palauan gods and the sea. One day, Uchelianged, the supreme god of heaven, looked down upon his vast emptiness and said, "Let there arise a land." A volcanic rock then rose from the sea and upon this barren land sat a giant clam. Soon its belly began to swell and tremble, and it grew larger and larger, as if ready to give birth. Uchelianged saw this and said, "Let there be a strong running sea." So the wind began to blow and waves crashed around the clam, causing it to burst open. From it poured swarms of the first sea creatures to swim Palau. They in turn gave birth and the once empty seas were soon teaming with life, from the smallest seaworm to human forms. And with this one dramatic and spectacular beginning, Palau was born.
