    Reminder to always bring or buy reef-safe sunscreen to Palau (or anywhere you snorkel) to protect our marine ecosystem and the coral reefs. Always practice a safe distance from marine life and never touch anything under water! Also never kick-paddle in shallow coral waters as corals are super fragile.

      Hello very informative I was planning a trip from Australia.. your video helped heaps. I'm just budgeting how much did the yours cost or did you do a package?

      @@Althekid-k1i Hi there! Glad it helps. Here's the general cost breakdown in USD:
      - Flight: $500-600 from TPE
      - Accommodation: around $150 per night for our hotel choice (there's definitely more expensive hotels on the island)
      - Food: around $15-$20 per person per meal
      - Activities: $100-$150 per day (snorkeling days), we booked through Klook website but you can find many websites that has snorkeling tours or through your hotel
      - Tax for Jellyfish lake + water activities: $100
      - Taxi: around $8 per trip (find a taxi driver, negotiate a good price, get a phone number and stick with them!)
      - Airport transport: around $20 per person
      - Reef safe sunscreen: this is very important! around $15-$20 on the island and I recommend buying/bringing at least 2-3 tubes/cans
      Hope this helps and hope you enjoy your trip to Palau

    Hi Dale, thank you for the Vlog... Can I ask you the snorkelling company you went with ... thanks in advance, Steven (New Zealand, heading to Palau in January 2025)

      Of course, Jan is a perfect time to visit. I used LongRainBow company in Palau (service@longrainbow.com) and booked through Klook. They are mainly Mandarin-speaking based with some limited English. You should be able to find similar snorkel trips on Klook/TripAdviser/Viator etc. Or alternatively you can use your hotel to book these tours! Hotels on Koror Palau can typically help guests book tours.
      Do make sure the trip is from Koror, Palau as there are similar names around the world. Would definitely recommend doing both the Western and Eastern snorkel lines.
      Have fun and enjoy the amazing islands!

    Are you Taiwanese? Is there a connection between Palau and Taiwan?

    • @Daleh
      @Daleh  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes I am Taiwanese! Palau and Taiwan always have a lot of friendly interaction both on a local level and diplomatic levels from past to present. For example, during the pandemic Palau and Taiwan had a travel bubble to continue encourage safe travel. There are also a lot of Taiwanese presence in Palau as well!

    • @EvanEvansE3
      @EvanEvansE3 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Daleh oh that's really wonderful. And it's interesting to know that Taiwan has almost a cultural presence and history in other places in the world (besides the US of course which is an easy melting pot). It makes me proud to know that the Taiwanese culture is bigger than Taiwan. Of course I am very sad for how China continues to ignore how the Taiwanese think of their sovereignty. China should at least acknowledge what the people of Taiwan say about themselves. Ignoring a people's wishes is very oppressive behavior. I have hope that with other nation's support Taiwan does not end up like Tibet or Hong Kong. I send you my my best wishes in life regardless, thank you for your reply! 👊

    What happened to the jellyfish population??
    So, you can’t swim among a swarm of them anymore???

    • @Daleh
      @Daleh  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The jellyfish population was wiped out due to global warming unfortunately. You can still swim in the lake and as of this year there are a couple of them still surviving. Typically it takes 5 years for the population to rebound if the temperature does not continue to rise.
