The way I fixed mine was to unplug the fire tv stick from my tv. Throw the remote and stick in the trash, bought a Roku streaming stick 4k and never look back. Best decision I’ve made when it comes to streaming devices.
You do a great job at helping people like me with your advice . I wanted to ask if you know an app to delete my cache on startup ? Some of the programs store up lot of cache space . Thanks in advance

Excellent, thanks so much I didn't think this would work but it did!! I unplugged it and reset the remote and removed batteries etc and it came back. I had just been using it and all of a sudden it stopped working, thanks so much 🙏🏼

Yes, it still is. As explained in this video th-cam.com/video/HaLOsPAmL3E/w-d-xo.html the new software is expected to be released on FUTURE Fire TV devices and not existing ones.
The app is currently being updated and should be fixed by the end of this week. A new update is on the way. Once it's released, you will need to uninstall the old version and install the new one. I'll upload it to my Downloads page as soon as it's available.

No there isn't I'm afraid. If required, cache must be cleared manually for each app.

Number 4 is the way to go. I was trying to sync a universal remote and ended up getting the old one to work.

Could be due to interference from other devices nearby. Try restarting your router/modem.

No, you shouldn't need an internet connection to pair your remote. Please hold the buttons shown in the video to pair them to your Firestick.
